2. Base Tracks
• We have decided to use the green scene as a base track. The main reason
for this is because we decided to steer away from the conventional
number of base tracks a music video has because we are having narration
but we also wanted to have the artist feature in the video, but not as the
character in the narration.
• The use of this base track of the artist:
• Allows the artist to stand out from the narrative
• Allows the viewer to capture her emotion as she is telling the story
through the lyrics
• As the base track mainly appears during the chorus, it allows the viewers
to gather the concept of ‘conquering’
3. Slow motion
• Slow motion is a good way of capturing the viewers
attention and focusing on a particular moment or scene
in a music video.
• For our music video we will be using slow motion in
mainly the ‘flashbacks’ that the character has. For
example, there is a scene of a flash back of the main
characters happy memories with her past boyfriend. We
see in this scene she is running in an open field and being
intimate( holding hands, hugging and laughing) with him
and to capture this happiness we will use slow motion.
Also this will add a sense of nostalgia.
4. Jump cuts
• Again, discontinuous editing such as jump cuts
will be used in the open space scene with the
main character and her boyfriend. Here you
will see an abundance of shots from different
angles so that the viewer is able the
understand what is going on.
