2. INTRODUCTION
• David Nicksay received his bachelor's degree in
performing arts from Hampshire College. Since then, he
has built a successful career in the entertainment industry,
currently serving as an executive producer of films at
Heliopolis Entertainment. David Nicksay is also a member
of different organizations relating to film, among which is
the American Film Institute (AFI).
In a recently published press release, the AFI announced
that it has contributed to film history after AFI
conservatory alumna Rachel Morrison became the first
female nominee for an Academy Award in
cinematography. Morrison, who belonged to the AFI class
of 2006, was nominated for her work in Mudbound.

3. RACHEL MORRISON
• The AFI Conservatory offers two-year master's degrees
in the different filmmaking disciplines, including
cinematography. It carries a proud legacy of producing
Academy-Award-winning cinematographers including
Janusz Kamiński (winner for Saving Private Ryan and
Schindler's List), Robert Richardson (winner for Hugo,
The Aviator, and JFK), Robert Eslwit (winner for There
Will be Blood), and Wally Pfister (winner for Inception).
