 In a recent blog post, Neagle answered a question about how to
overcome the pattern of providing services for free by charging
acquaintances and friends an appropriate fee. Neagle responded to the
question by explaining that charging people for a consultation is a
conscious decision and professionals must commit to always securing a
fee for their services. For example, if an individual or friend asks for
assistance, professionals should offer a formal meeting in which they can
recommend a program or service for a specific fee.
Securing Fees that Reflect Professional
Worth
 Neagle emphasizes that professionals should establish their fees
according to their financial goals instead of their emotions, so that they
can consistently make offers that align with their professional objectives.
Rather than reversing a subconscious cycle of behavior, Neagle states
that professionals must establish a new pattern based on belief in their
professional value.
