2. Peachstate Historical Consulting, Inc., a firm located in
Roswell, Georgia, has contributed to the efforts of a
local school that supports students with special needs.
The Cottage School, founded in 1985, employs a
unique program to help students who do not thrive in
traditional classroom settings reach their potential and
develop life skills. C
lasses take place in small cottages on a 22-acre
campus, and staff members teach strategies to cope
with the issues of daily life alongside the academic
program.
The school also pays students mock salaries, allowing
them the opportunity to manage savings and checking
accounts, plan for the future, delay gratification, and
use time wisely.
3. Peachstate President David Frohman
delivered a lecture at the school and brought
actual space artifacts to show the
students, developing their interest in science
and technology while sharing the exciting
history of the American space program.
After his visit in September 2010, Frohman
donated a collection of vintage NASA photos
and publications to the Cottage School’s
media center.
The collection will allow students to engage
with primary documents from the era of
manned spaceflight and moon landings.
