Rhinos cover themselves in mud to stay cool and protect themselves from insects, and use their horns to defend against attacks from lions. Rhinos have poor eyesight but strong senses of smell and hearing. Poaching is a major threat, with over 600 rhinos killed in 2012, and scientists believe rhinos could become extinct if poaching continues. There are five species of rhinos, and they live in parts of Africa, Asia, and India.
