2. Introduction
 Daniel Krasnick, a licensed tax preparer with more
than three decades of experience, currently leads 1
on 1 Math Coaching and Taxes for Teachers PA, the
leading tax advice provider for educators in Lehigh
Valley. A dedicated member of his community, Daniel
Krasnick actively donates to a number of
organizations, including the Children’s Hospital of
Philadelphia (CHOP).
The first hospital focused solely on providing care to
children, CHOP has supported a variety of medical
innovations and discoveries over the years that have
changed the field of pediatric health care. Most
recently, surgeons at CHOP completed the first
pediatric bilateral hand transplant in the world.

3. First Bilateral Hand Transplant
 The surgeons worked with colleagues from Penn
Medicine to transplant donor hands and forearms onto
an 8-year-old boy who previously had his hands
amputated due to a major infection. The surgical
transplantation took a total of 10 hours to complete,
and the donor was found through the Gift of Life
Donor Program.
The team that worked on the operation was made up
of 40 physicians and nurses from a wide range of
specialties such as radiology and orthopedic surgery.
Using information from the first successful bilateral
hand transplant on an adult, the team was able to
adapt the different techniques and plans to suit a
child.
