At Texas Children’s Hospital, our purpose is simple: to heal sick children. It underscores
everything we do, every day—our patient care, our research, our medical education, and
our outreach to the community.
Founded in 1954, Texas Children’s Hospital has grown into the nation’s largest
freestanding pediatric hospital and has become a hub of groundbreaking research and
discoveries. From organ transplantation to quantum leaps in the treatment of cancer to
early victories in genetic medicine, our contributions to the advances in pediatric
medicine over the past half century have saved millions of children’s lives.
As we search for new ways to provide better care for our young patients, your support
will help grow our facilities at the hospital and in the community, significantly expanding
our outreach and patient care programs. It will provide funding for advanced research in
key areas and will help attract and retain the kind of world-class faculty we need to lead
these new endeavors and to teach the next generation of pediatric professionals.
Your investment isn’t about buildings: it’s about people, programs and the pursuit of
excellence. In short, it’s about making sure that the maximum number of children has
access to Texas Children’s Hospital and the services we provide—whenever they need
them.
