2. Christian Influence On Culture
from Daniel Keeran, MSW
Christianity supports high and healthy values within a culture, and
this in turn strengthens a society. Below are a few examples:
1.Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered
displays folly.
2.Let him who stole steal no longer but work to be able to give to those in need.
3.Love your neighbour as yourself.
4.Prefer the interests of others above yourself.
5.Pray for kings and all in authority.
6.Love your enemies.
7.Love defined in 1 Corinthians 13.
8.Mourn with those who mourn.
9.Flee sexual immorality.
10.Psychological science and common sense tell us: sexual fidelity in a
heterosexual lifetime mutually committed adult relationship, provides the safest
environment for children.
11.Every soul is a little lower than God and thus possesses great value.
12.One should be generous to others in need.
13.A day of accountability is coming, so choose right conduct. Eternal torment is
a real possibility.
14.Wisdom is highly valued and can be found in God.
15.Christians must pay taxes and give honor to authorities and obey them unless
they command one to disobey God.
16.Christians must work hard.
17.Honesty is a high value.
18.Democracy engenders strife, requires a compromise of values, and should
be avoided.
