Asco?
First Supper After a Major Riot 1974
• Asco, the spanish word for disgust, composed a group of
socially and politically minded Chicano artists in the
1970’s who responded to the climate of Los Angeles and
the world at large through public displays, multimedia,
and performance art.
• The core artists were from East LA, namely, Harry
Gamboa Jr., Gronk, Willie Herrón, and Patssi Valdez.
