  1. - 1st: Before we’re going to have a formal discussion about the early education of our national hero, we must need to know first what are the objectives that we need to attain at the end of the lesson
  2. 1st: Rizal had his early education in Calamba and Biňan 4th: Knowledge was forced into the minds of pupils by means of tedious (boring or too slow or long) memory method aided by the teacher’s whip
  3. 2nd: On her lap, he learned at the age of three the alphabet and the prayers 4th: Teodora wa very careful and concerned with doing something correctly in educating Pepe
  4. 1st: As Jose grew older, his parents employed private tutors to give him lessons at home
  5. 1st: On June 1869 (8-9 years old), Jose with a tearful parting from his family, went to Biňan for his study
  6. 3rd: He experienced his first school brawl against Pedro, the son of Maestro Justiniano 4th: Jose, despite of being shorter and younger, won the fight

  9. - Before Jose entered and during his study in Ateneo, there were events that took place and greatly affected the thinking of young Jose towards inequality and discrimination
  10. 2nd: They were accused of supporting the failed Cavite Mutiny and executed under the government of Gov.-Gen. Rafael de Izquierdo 3rd:The martyrdom of Gomburza truly inspired Rizal to fight the evils of Spanish tyranny and redeem his oppressed people

  12. 1st: 4 months after the martyrdom of GOMBURZA and with Donya Teodora still in prison, Jose was sent to manila. 2nd: He studied in the Ateneo Municipal 4th: College during their time is equivalent to our high school of today 7th: It was formerly Escuela Pia, a school for porr boys of Manila which was established by the government in 1817 Last: He obtained a bachelor of Arts degree, with the highest honors, that entitled him to admission in any University
  13. - 1st: Jose went to Manila to study in Escuela Pia (Ateneo Municipal/Manila) under the Spanish Jesuits
  14. 3rd: He registered this name at the Ateneo because their family name “Mercado” had come under the suspicion of the Spanish authorities
  15. 2nd: It trained the character of the student by rigid discipline and religious instruction 3rd: It promotes physical culture, humanities and scientific studies
  16. 2nd: The best student in each empire was the emperor, the second was the tribune, the third was the decurion 3rd: The fourth was the centurion, and the fifth was the standard-bearer
  17. 3rd: His opponent could lose his position if he committed three mistakes 4th: The two empires were in constant competition for supremacy in the class
  18. 2nd: Being a newcomer and knowing little Spanish, Rizal was placed at the bottom of the class 4th: After first week, he progressed rapidly, and at the end of the month, he became emperor 5th: He was the brightest pupil in the whole class
  19. 3rd: Without telling his father, Rizal went to Sta. Cruz to visit his mother 4th: He told of his brilliant grades and his dream that his mother will be released in prison
