1. Persuasive Essay On College Education
Imagine a store only sold two sizes of the new shirt you wanted. In today's society that is the
perfectly painted picture on college education. College has become an option, a granted privilege,
and no longer a necessity. Jobs such as small business owners, Web developers, and Wind Turbine
Technician no longer require a college degree. College education is still worth it because college,
ВЁencourages students to think, ask questions, and explore new ideas, which allows for additional
growth and development and provides college graduates with an edge in the job market over those
who have not experienced a higher educationВЁ (McGuire). A college degree is an essential tool in
an adult's life because of prominent health, labor market balance, and overall career success.
First, earning a degree can lead to prominent health. Health is of utmost important next to education
and family. Earning a degree can decrease your chance of becoming obese, increase self–esteem,
improve brain development, and better understand and compliance with healthy behaviors. When
earning a college degree you are ВЁa lot less likely to be obese and 50% more likely to exerciseВЁ
(5 ways). Increased self–esteem comes for the sense of accomplishment and confidence from
completing the fast, accelerating education program. By age twenty young adults still do not have a
fully developed brain in terms of cognition. Cognition is how someone understanding something.
According to author Jill Jeffrey, ВЁFindings suggest that higher–order cognitive capacities that begin
to develop in adolescence do not fully develop until surprisingly late, perhaps even into the 30sВЁ
(Colorado.edu). College actually helps your brain to develop, leading to living anywhere from two
and a half to nine years longer, helps you to have a better understand and compliance with healthy
behaviors, communication, and various life skills. But, earning a degree can also increase your
chance of weight gain and mental disorders due to higher levels of stress and anxiety. Some include
depression, bipolar disorder or manic depression, posttraumatic stress, and possible thoughts and
attempts of suicide. To conclude earning a degree can decrease your chance of becoming obese,

2. Persuasive Essay On Career Choice
Figuring out the right career choice is often times difficult, confusing, and scary. Afterall, having the
weight of a 200,000 thousand dollar debt on your shoulders while working in a career field you
absolutely hate would make anyone petrified during the decision process. With this kind of pressure,
determining the best–suited career choice is beyond stressful. Like any concerned high school
student, I have been contemplating my major which is determinate on the career path I chose.
Dentistry has always been an interest point of mine, however, I have always contemplated whether
doing four extra years of schooling as well as going into an insane amount of debt was worth it for
me. After careful consideration as well as extensive research in areas such as education and training,
debt vs pay off, and time for family, I have determined that dentistry is the right path for me.
Through my research, I have gathered essential information regarding the education and training
required to achieve a degree as a general dentist as well as the different specialties in the field.
Majoring in biology during my undergrad will expose me to a variety of lab activities which will
then aid me in performing well on the Dental Admissions Test (DAT) during my junior year of
college ("Dentist Schools & Careers"). The DAT is one of the many contributing factors, such as
GPA and letter of recommendations, which determine acceptance into dental school ( "Dentists.").

3. Persuasive Essay On Choosing A College
Deciding on a college is a stressful time in any student's life. All students deal with stress about their
future after high school, regardless of whether they plan for college or not. Some may think that
students are making the decision into something more difficult than it has to be; however, this is an
incredibly important time in any student's life. It entails a lot of thought. Like putting on makeup,
deciding on a school requires effort and creativity, but both can show who a person is. Choosing a
school requires hard work and preparation, creativity for students to express themselves, and freedom
to decide exactly what they want. To qualify for certain colleges, students must be focused
throughout high school. Some schools can be selective on who they accept while others have high
acceptance rates; some schools require classes that others do not. Students need to put in the effort
and dedication to qualify for the schools they believe would be the best fit. For these students,
grades are not something they can only put partial effort into. To maintain their grades, students
keep track of their assignments and work hard throughout all of high school. Students get the option
to be creative while choosing their schools because whatever school is chosen will be used to
express themselves. After choosing a school, the student will strongly align themselves with that
school. Schools offer merchandise because when students like a school they want to represent it;
thus proves that many people use schools' names or logos as a means to express themselves.
However, for prospective students finding a school to align with can be stressful. They have to know
exactly what traits they desire. One thing people may consider: community college or university.
Some go to community college because they are unsure of their major; some go to trade schools
because they only want to learn skills for a certain job; some go straight to a four–year university;
some students do not go to any college. A person's choice in their education depends on their
personal preferences: how much work they are willing to put in, who they want to align with, and
freedom to choose what they want to do.
Similarly, makeup requires a lot of

5. Persuasive Essay On Online Classes
Andrew Simoncelli once said, "Students who take online classes must be motivated, independent
learners." This is relevant because independence and motivation is what it takes to succeed in an
online course. Online learning will not only expand what students learn, but will also bring a
number of positive changes in the way students are taught. Courses online have changed
everyone's look at learning all over the world. It allows more opportunities for observers to learn
online rather than learning in class. Another affirmative of taking an online course is flexibility and
convenience. Students who would like to experience some of these ideas should look into an online
class! In many schools, online classes are becoming more available to students. Recent studies show
that the use of online classes has been rapidly increasing over the past three years. Currently, there
are a total of 6,700,000 students enrolled in all different variations of courses
("Online Classes"). Due to the increase of young adults taking online courses, researchers have been
able to collect data to compare the grades of online learners to the grades of those learning in the
classroom. According to the article published by the University of the Potomac, 90% of students will
successfully reach higher achievements beyond what traditional in–class students will attain
("Online Classes"). Taking an online course can help a student accomplish anything they would like
to do that is education related, such as getting ahead in certain classes, finishing high school early, or
maybe even college. Another plus to taking courses online is being able to work at your own pace.
Researchers are finding that the slowest student takes five times as long to learn as the fastest
("Online Classes"). Lectures and other materials are electronically sent to the student, who will then
read them and complete assignments, which then allows them to do the homework when they would
like to and at the speed they learn things ("10 Advantages").
Most students find courses online better than in–class learning. Now even some schools are saying
yes to online learning! It is a big money saver because the school or college will not have to employ

6. Persuasive Essay On College Tuition
College tuition is a subject that I am certain is on every college student's mind. The current cost of
college has become so outrageously high and so students are graduating college with what you
think is a feeling of excitement for their lives starting, when in reality they are entering a pool of
stress due to high amounts of debt and no job guarantees. With that being said overly expensive
College Tuition is merely taking away opportunities from potential students. According to
Collegefactual.com, you will see that 20 years ago the average college tuition for a student at any
University was around $6,285 for the room, board, and tuition. Today, according to Niche.com, the
average tuition for almost any college is over $30,000 for those same things. Today, this isn't even
offered for those same colleges, we don't even know what is actually causing the raising tuition. At
this point in time, we are paying for the name. Just like clothing, we pay more for the "high end"
(a.k.a the college name) items. This is an issue that not only affects college students, but people who
want a good education. College tuition should be lowered because the average student debt is too
high, FAFSA results can be misleading and not high enough, and there is not enough access to
college for deserving students.
There are some students that can barely afford a community college, and community college prices
are not as high as four year universities. Many people in the US wants to go to college and

7. Persuasive Essay About Going To College
Sample Writing Assignment
While many high school seniors are faced with the tough question of "where should I go to
college," what if the real question is "should I even be going to college?" One should carefully
consider their options before making a decision for life after high school. Those who are not ready for
college or feel that college is not necessary for their career choice should consider not attending
college and begin their career. For many high school graduates, college proves to be the next step in
ensuring a successful future, yet for others, college is nonessential to the career they plan to pursue
and should not be required.
College is optional; however, many are peer pressured into going to college though they are not
ready. Because the majority of the population attends college immediately after high school, it is
thought that college is simply the next step in life. However, college should be deeply considered
because there are many careers that do not require a college degree. If one attends college and later

9. Your junior year, when all of the adults are asking the same question, "What college are you
going to?" Fast forward to your senior year and college applications are due. It seems as if all that
is expected of highschoolers is to go to college. Four, or more, years of torcherous education that
you are "supposed" to want. However, college is more that that. Along with monetary benefits such
as a superior job and lower unemployment rates, college is an opportunity to learn more about the
world and yourself. College is a profitable choice because even though it might not seem like it in
the beginning, college helps with securing a better job. According to How College Shapes Lives:
Understanding the Issues, from https://trends.collegeboard.org/ , the text states that, "In 2011,
median earnings for 35– to 44–year–olds working full time who's highest degree was a bachelor's

their annual pay, just because of their education level. All of that money can be used to pay off
loans, debts, pay for a house, car, and even be used to your freewill, like traveling or treats.

Community College Revamp Nearly nine million students enroll in community college annually.
Unfortunately, only about 6.3 million of these students make it to their second year of school, and
even less stay in school until their graduation ("College Dropout Rates," 2017). The New York Times
article, "Revamping Community Colleges to Improve Graduation Rates," shows that, because so
few freshmen make it through community college, certain measures should be put into action to
increase the number of graduates and degrees (Tugend, 2016). Community colleges should be
revamped to decrease college dropouts by distributing free tuition, making remedial classes optional,
and offering more guidance to incoming freshmen.
Although some people believe that the cost of tuition is low for community college, one of the main
reasons community college students drop out is because of their poor financial situations. Despite
that a community college's tuition is only about a third of the cost of a university's tuition,
community colleges still have an average annual tuition of 3,430 dollars (Tugend, 2016). For many
students, this bill is simply too large, and it causes college students to drop out of school. To solve
this problem, former president Barack Obama proposed a plan called America's College Promise,
making community colleges tuition–free for responsible high school seniors (Tugend, 2016).
Unfortunately, America's College Promise was not enacted, but the proposal did inspire several
states to enforce similar bills. If every state passed a bill similar to Obama's, the citizens of the
United States would be more educated. With a more educated people, it is likely that the population
as a whole would make smarter decisions, and they would be able to solve some of the nation's most
difficult problems more quickly and efficiently. In addition to wiser citizens, people would be
happier because everyone would have the freedom to pursue an education without having to worry
about the cost (Redd, 2017). Making community college tuition free would make the nation more
successful and prosperous. Unfortunately, lack of financial aid is not the only reason that students
continuously drop out of college; another reason

Specific purpose: At the end of the speech, students will be persuaded that college should be free.
Central idea: Three reasons why college should be free: First, tuition and debt leads to attempted

12. Persuasive Essay On Education Reform
Educational reform is yet to be perfected. Teachers shape the minds of students to realize what their
purpose is in life. Lately, because of certain educational reforms, it has been hard for teachers to say
what they need to say. "In 40–plus states, the math and English guidelines determine the knowledge
students have to master by the end of each grade, what they'll be tested on this year, and in many
cases, how teachers and principals will be rated at their jobs once those test scores are released"
(Strauss). Most educational reforms are adopting standardized testing and should be reconsidered.
Statistics even show that since we have taken part in reforms like No Child Left Behind, Race to the
Top, and Common Core State Standards math and reading are declining. These standards tell
teachers what to teach and what the students should know by the end of the school year. The reforms
also evaluate teacher performance by how well the students learn the information. Some people
believe educational reforms should not be telling teachers how to teach their students, and others
believe that the reforms are absolutely fine the way they are. However the truth is educational
reforms are yet to be perfected.
One point of view a person could have about educational reform is that students throughout the
country should all have the same high–quality standards. Issues and Controversies states,"All states
should adhere to similar academic standards so that American youth are

Someone once said, "Never base your life decision on advice from people who don't have to deal
with the results." Choosing which college you should attend is a stressful, arduous, exciting, and
terrifying process filled with endless conundrums and choices. However, the end result, the college
that provides oneself with the best education, career opportunities, and general satisfaction, is well
worth the mental and physical toll that the search takes on an individual. So, how do you
circumvent the twists and turns of fate and determine your dream school? The answer is rather
simple: do it yourself. In the end, you are the one going to college, not your parent, teacher,
grandparent, brother, sister, the guy behind the computer making the college rankings, or anyone
else. Though your decision may be influenced by a variety of sources, it is your responsibility to
walk your own fulfilling and enriching path. Consequently, the best way to determine your perfect
college match is to drown out the rankings and do your own research, research that considers every
factor that is important to you.
In 1983, U.S. News & World Report recognized that prospective college students yearned for some
type of sign that would point them to their dream school, and U.S. News & World Report granted
those students their wish with the first installment of the U.S. News & World Report CollegeRanking

14. Persuasive Essay On Free Tuition
Free Tuition Having an education is the prime key to becoming successful in life and having a
high school diploma is just not enough. Majority of the jobs in society today require individuals
to obtain a college degree or trade. It is not easy trying to receive a degree or trade because of the
expenses. Those who do not have a degree or trade have to settle for minimum wage paying jobs and
others simply cannot find jobs at all. A convenient solution to this is that the federal government
should offer free tuition to all students seeking a two–year college education with at least a 2.5 GPA.
First, free tuition will give everyone the opportunity to further their education and build careers
without being deprived due to a lack of a degree caused by the financial burdens of tuition fees.
The federal government will not be negatively affected if they offered free tuition, because they
have enough money to fund colleges. Jordan Weissman, a former senior associate editor of the
Atlantic who did research on how the federal government could make tuition free without extra
money being spent: stated, "Here's a little known fact: "With what the federal government spent on
its various and sundry student aid initiatives last year, it could have covered the tuition bill of every
student at every public college in the country". Tuition at community colleges is approximately
$1,700. David Hosansky, a writer for CQ Researcher, addressed the matter of college tuition: "While
tuition averages less than $3,500 per year – far lower than the $9,139 average for instate residents at
a typical four–year public institution – many community college students still struggle to pay for
their education" (388). Even though most colleges offer student loans, students still have to pay out
of pocket for college because the amount of loans a student may take out is limited. Most student
loans have to be paid back with a fluctuant interest rates. In cases as such, when students do not
have the amount of funds needed by a certain due date, they get kicked out of college. Once an
individual is no longer enrolled in college they have to repay the student loans they have taken out.
Also, they have to pay off any remaining balances they have. Often

High School is a very difficult and confusing time for most teenagers. Trying to balance schoolwork,

about turning into a well rounded person by doing well in school as well as balancing the time for

In school students getting good grades will help them get into better colleges. Yes, colleges do look
for well–rounded students, but the first things that colleges look at are the gpa and standardized test
scores. The colleges look at those things to see how well students learn and adapt to each class.
Colleges know that each teacher has their own style of teaching, and each student has their own way
of learning the material. So, the college wants to see if the student can adjust to each teacher and
learn that material. If the student is able to adjust to the teacher and succeed in the class, the higher
the grades will be. The higher the grades are, the better the chance of getting into a nicer college. If
students get into a better college, there are more opportunities at hand, more opportunities for the
student to succeed. Students should always follow their passions but in reality, only seven percent
of high school athletes move on to college athletics. And, only two percent of all high school
athletes go on to play in Division I athletics (Scholarship Stats). To conclude, students should uphold
a B average or better to participate in after school activities because the better grades one has, the
more opportunities they get from colleges. School and grades opens more doors than any after

18. Persuasive Essay For Going To College
Once highschool ends, you will think you are already done with school, and you can finally be
free, and you are kind of right. However, your college education should not stop at high school, as
high school only teaches you a few things. Going to college will teach things outside of just
learning some basic math and writing formats. College will prepare you for life as well. By going
to college, you will earn more, be more employable due to your accumulation of knowledge, and
you will live a healthier life. College is not for everyone, but if you prefer a secure future then it
is suggested to go to college. By pursuing business without a college degree, you could lose all
your money and everything you have worked for at any moment if you are not cautious. With a
college degree, you can earn a decent salary with a secure job.
College graduates are more likely to be employed for a job position than an individual who only
has a highschool degree. For example in the article,"Middle Schoolers, Why College?" it
states,"Today most good jobs require more than a highschool diploma. They want people who know
how to think and solve problems." Ahigh school diploma is almost meaningless now, high school
may have not prepared you for college, so why would you think it would prepare you for anything
beyond that? Also, by attending college you acquire more knowledge and skills in many other
fields which makes you more ideal for a job. In addition, a website had stated,"The unemployment
rate for people with a college degree was 2.5%, for the ones who only had a highschool diploma was
7.7%." As you can tell, people with only a highschool diploma are more likely to be unemployed
than a college student. A college degree can almost assure you on never being unemployed, as
people do want someone who knows what their doing and by going to college they'll know you have
been educated above high school level. To sum everything up, if you have a college degree you have
a greater possibility in being hired for a job than someone who only has a highschool degree.
However, several jobs do need a college degree in order to apply for them.

Most people think highly of online classes; get to work from home, get to work on a flexible
schedule, and anyone can do it. Though no one has heard the cons of taking one. I personally took
three semesters of online classes in high school and had a horrible experience. Because of loose
scheduling, poor communication, and the focus needed, online classes are not suitable for
procrastinators. To give a better understanding, I will summarize my experience with the class. Me,
being a procrastinator, thought to myself: I'll just work on the weekends and if I don't finish the
class by the end of the school year, I can finish within the first few weeks of summer. This was a
god awful plan. Unsurprisingly, close to nothing was accomplished on the weekends. Friends would
ask me to hang out every weekend, and I did every time. Why would I want to work on my class on
the weekend when I could be having fun? I would later regret this decision. On the days I stayed
home and could have worked on the class, I completed nothing. On these days, I would tell myself:
I'll just complete what I didn't do this weekend next weekend. This rarely happened. Thus, the cycle
of getting nothing accomplished started. I disregarded my class for most of the first semester of
junior year. With only nine assignments out of eighty finished after the first semester of the school
year, I was immensely behind. I told myself to get my act together during second semester and grind
