An Experience that changed my Life
Life is full of learning and it is mostly due to our daily life experiences. These experiences are
mostly based on our surrounding environment from where we learn new things every day. But all
these experiences are a result of our keen observations out of daily routines. It is very important to
note that life also provides us with some chances to experience new people or places that are indeed
out of the ordinary. That is thetime we indeed learn new and unique things, hence these are unique
experiences of our life which are remembered by us throughout our life span. I have visited USA
and this was indeed a life time experience. Going through new and strikingly important things really
made me filled up with pleasure. It was indeed very joyful and marvelous experience. I am very
happy and expecting many more things and unique experience coming my way and making me
enjoy new and exciting things.
USA is a place which is full of new experiences that is what makes it even more exciting due to all
kinds of diversity in food in recreation and work; hence everything here is much more diverse
than a normal place available for recreation anywhere in the world. This was the first time in my
life when I was to go overseas and I really enjoyed this, it was indeed marvelous experience when I
visited East,...show more content...
I have logic to testify my statement in terms of the reference that USA being an economic hub
invites people from all parts of the world. One can always have the chance to meet many diverse
people belonging to different cultures, traditions and lifestyles. So, one can enjoy a small world
here in USA. I met people from different parts of the Asia–Pacific region, Thailand, Singapore,
Malaysia, Africa, Europe, Russia and Indonesia. Many of them were my online friends and we
really enjoyed meeting each other in the practical world rather than the virtual world for the very first

Personal Experience
I have had the great opportunity to be apart of a great program and class at college. Most of us who
are going to become teachers know about this class and the required 80 hours of volunteering at a
middle school for a semester. I was eager to volunteer, because I have experience in working with
middle school kids. The school I work for, has prepared me to handle school aged kids, so I was
relying on my background to carry me though the semester at a new Middle school.
The privileges of a private school are a lot different from an inner city school. When I began to
volunteer at Baker I was shocked to discover that the students were not allowed to take books home
to finish their school...show more content...
Hanson. Mr. Hanson is a teacher in the special education department at Baker. Mr. Hanson explained
to me that these students are in the special education classes so they can gain the skills to eventually
re–enter the normal public school classes. Mr. Hanson explained to the students who I was, why I
was here, and how long I was staying.
The class I could see wasn't very enthusiastic about my added presence in their classroom. I
debated on the technique I would use to gain their trust and respect. Imagine a frozen lake and
every step you take is a risk, because you are not sure if the ice is going to hold or crack and break
right under you. This is exactly how I felt the first week of my volunteering at Baker. I will be
honest; my first week wasn't the greatest, because I was learning the ropes of the special education
department. These kids in the special education program not only have to deal with their ADD, and
other diagnosis, but they also have to deal with poverty. I was told by Mr. Hanson that most of the
students in the special education department never graduate, because education is not an important
factor in their life. Most of their parents/parent want the kids to be home helping to either take care
of younger siblings while working or to help out at home.
As the weeks progressed, I found the job more enjoyable, because once the students felt comfortable
with a new element in their classroom

At some point, no one has ever been happy with their family. It may be because of a bad decision, a
terrible misunderstanding or an inevitable situation. It could be a lot of things. But in my family, it
was something simple yet irritating: rules. It felt suffocating. And because of it, I was hardly
allowed to do the things I wanted to; like hanging out with friends for one.
I can seemingly recall how often I felt left out; from the clothes I wore to the things I didn't have.
And in fact, no one would believe me if I told them I don't and will never have a Facebook account.
Apparently, I am not age–ready and responsible enough to have one. And even if I will be in the
later years, it wouldn't be that much of a hit anymore. It...show more content...
Apart from the matters regarding grades, she said that he saw the four of us (my mother, my siblings
and me) playing hide–and–seek, late one afternoon. That day, the sun just went down and we were
waiting for my dad to pick us up from school. It was the perfect time to play hide–and–seek. When
our dad finally came, each of us lined up to kiss him on the cheek like we always did. But because
I knew there were still people around, I kissed my dad quickly. As my mother continued telling me
what happened during their talk, she said that my adviser suddenly burst into tears. How he wished
he had a family like ours: perfect. Upon hearing the whole story, I went numb then guilty all of a
sudden. How can that be? What exactly did he see in us that day which made him say that it was
perfect? I felt ashamed. My teacher was hurting and I wasn't feeling anything at all. Aside from the
fact that he is a guy, I couldn't imagine him crying over such a thing. I couldn't even imagine myself
crying over such a thing. But I know for sure that my family is anything but perfect. I couldn't
understand. Not yet.
During class devotion time with our adviser one day, our point of conversation moved from the
day's scripture to matters about family; something I wasn't that thrilled to be talking about then.
When it was our adviser's turn to speak, he retold of the time when he saw us playing hide–and–seek

The Importance Of Personal Experiences
Every person goes through different experiences that influence the way they mature and the way
they decide future plans. My personal experiences include family factors that influenced the way
I am today. I have not let the unfortunate events let my future plans differ from what was planned
but they have allowed me to accept the things I cannot change and also make me realize the
things I can. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change: courage to change
the things I can: and wisdom to know the difference." Reinhold Neibuhr quoted this in his
lifetime and it has significance to my family. It came into my family 28 years ago from my father
during his recovery time. It is a common quote that is said for recovering patients and treatment
centers. In the last few years I have finally been able to interpret the quote and use it in life for
myself. There are things that I absolutely cannot change and personally I hate that, however, I
believe through faith I am able to decipher these things I can't truly change. Some ideas and things I
can change, but may also be intimidating. I refer to this quote and I am to push past those tough
times and am able to change what I may not want to. To know the difference can be the hardest part
in my opinion. There are things I want to change, but absolutely cannot do. To be able to use this
quote in my life along with my faith, I can conquer all my goals and dreams and that is this specific
quote means a lot to me. My

My Personal Experience
As a freshmen there are many experiences and trials you ,must overcome in order to support
yourself as a student .These actions don't come easily and may take may attempt before learning
from them. If you choices to neglect taking these action it will only end hurting you later on in your
academia career. In my personal experiences, I should have been more informed of on compass
resources like the AEC alongside with improving my own actions like improving important skill
such time management and communication in order to support my success. There are many on
campus resources that I have yet to take advantage. The Academic enhancement center in a prime
example pervading helpful handout, references books and face to face interaction with skilled tutor
that cover a plethora of subjects. The AEC is a great resources that I can use to clarify and learn
more in–depth information about central and important question about one of my classes. As a
college freshmen I really wish that I was more informed about all possible resources my campus
has to offer. There are many other resources like the student wellness center that could have played
a vital role in improving my physical wellness but also have a positive impact lowering my stress
levels thus, improving my productivity in the class room and out .In fact I have realized that when I
complete a physical activity my mind tends to be more relax and more free thinking. This can

Personal Experience with Writing
I have always considered writing to be a work in progress, and it constantly can be improved. I have
always been devoted to writing. I loved to write stories as a child because I could use my creativity
and create any type of character I desired. But I have struggled with writing as well. English has
never been my forte. I have received A's, B's, C's, and D's on essays. I truly never found my voice in
writing. In my high school, English teachers would give me mixed reviews on my writing. For
example, in 9th grade my English teacher said I was organized with my thoughts, and my writing
process was excellent. While in 10th,11th grade ,12th grade my teachers only said negative things
about my essays. Not being a strong writer made me...show more content...
The essay prompts, that I was given allowed me to challenge myself. The essay prompts were
challenging because each essay I had to approach it differently. For each essay, I wanted to be
creative on how I would approach it. As a writer, you have always change you writing. It was
challenging to decide how I wanted to structure each essay. But, challenge is the key towards
being a perfect writer. Finally, reflecting on English 114A/B my attitude and style of writing has
changed. My attitude has changed because now I see writing as being therapeutic. I see writing
as something to help me relieve stress. It allows me release my feelings, rather than expressing
my words to someone. Also, my style of writing has changed. Taking the English stretch course at
CSUN allowed me to step out of my comfort zone. For instance, I was able to let go of the five
paragraph essay. It was hard, but I was able to do it slowly. Moreover, I was able to let go of the
habit of starting all my essay's with a quote. It was not easy to be open to changing my writing
style. I had to step out of my comfort zone. For instance, some people are scared of change
because they believe that change is bad, because you do not know what to expect. I was not scared
to change my writing style because I look as change as challenge, and the opportunity to start
something new. Adjusting my writing style was a challenge, but I was able to do it. It is

My Personal Experience In My Life
For an individual to be a success, it is imperative to possess qualities beyond intellect. To flourish
in your career and in life, your character must drive you toward your aspirations. Throughout life,
several experiences have molded me into a person of resilience, empathy, and composure. Such
values have allowed me to reach my goals and serve my community. In supplement to my
intelligence, these assets render me an exceptional student and employee. The ability to be resilient
is at the core of who I am, and the challenges that have created this strength have taught me empathy.
Because of my weight, I faced bullying often and found liberation in sports and exercise. Eventually,
I lost fifty pounds and ascended the social ladder. With...show more content...
When my grandfather suffered from a massive heart attack, and was brain dead upon
resuscitation, I started practicing composure. Once taken life support, his heart kept beating for
a week. Because my parents raised me to be strong and to put others before myself, I spent the
week supporting my grandmother and taking care of my grandfather's body. I never thought I
could handle something like that, but for my grandfather, I would do anything. That week I truly
put others before myself; staying at the hospital until the early morning, then driving straight to
class, and back to the hospital again. During this time was when I knew to pick a vocation where
I could be of assistance to others. Helping to care for my grandfather is what led me to my job as
a nursing assistant. This is when I began discovering my love for service and developing myself
as a woman for others. At work, there were days when I wanted to break down and cry in front
patients due to the pain I felt at the inability of myself and the healthcare system to cure their
illness, but I did not cry. Instead, I would tell them that they could handle it, and they are capable
of more than they realize; that I hurt for them and that I was remorseful there is nothing further I
could do. No matter how terrible my day had been, there was no other option but to walk in that
room and act like I had the best day of my life and that is composure. Lucky enough to have the

Personal Narrative: A Personal Experience
I struggled to identify a personal experience that impact my life as the topic for this paper. After
days of thought about the assignment, I sat down to write, but I ended up staring at a blank
computer screen for a long time. I thought to myself, I am struggling. This thought prompted me to
think of all the times that I had struggled in my life. I remembered struggling in basketball, school,
and everyday life. As I thought about them, I realized that I got through them and benefitted from the
experiences. Pushing myself to my limits, looking for ways to get better, and refusing to quit had
produced some good results in my life. People tend to associate struggling as a bad thing because it
is a difficult experience usually filled with frustration. That can be true, but it can also lead to
positive changes in life. I wanted to show how struggling with something can have positive results.

The problem with that strategy was that it did not allow me to dive deep enough into the
experience to allow the reader to gain the knowledge of my feelings. After receiving feedback on
my that draft, I knew that I had to go in a different direction. I picked just one experience and
really went into depth with it. This allowed me to be able to share with the reader a true sense of
nervousness, frustration, satisfaction, relief, and joy. I was able to take the reader on the journey
from the start to the end. After reading my paper, I wanted the reader to realize that everyone
struggles in many ways. It is how a person reacts to the struggle that matters. It was through this
experience that I became a better student and person. As a reader, did this cause you to think of your
own experiences with struggle? Do you see how struggling could benefit a person? Did you feel my
emotional struggle and personal growth throughout the

My Personal Experiences
My personal experiences have made me the person I am today. My experiences have taught me to
enjoy life Also to embrace and honor every minute in this precious life.Experiences are a chance to
help one another get familiar with what we know and have went through to bring us were we are
now. My personal experiences are greater or even less some others, starting with my trip to New
York City back in 2013 on February 14th. Which was my Valentine's Day trip actually my first trip
every out of the state. I enjoyed the cold weather even the heavy snow. My first instinct were to
make snowmen and to see how the snow tasted, I even had a chance to meet most of my family
on my mother's side of the family which live in Queens New York while were visiting in Kings
New York.Just because it was Valentine's Day I was surprised with a gift to take multiple photos
with most of the greatest Hip Hop R and B singers that ever lived.I were very appreciative to meet
new smiling faces as well as my family that I have not seen in centuries. It was a great experience it
was the best Valentines gift I could ever endure. Not only was the trip to NYC a great deal but, the
day that I was chosen from my High School to spend an adventurous day with an experienced,
sweet, loving and caring Sheriff and his partner was awesome. The Sheriff was surprisingly from
Osceola County, the county that I resided. It dawned on me that he use to patrol in our

My Personal Experience
Whatever experience, we have either good, bad or ugly; our experience reflects on our behavior or
action. In life everybody has their own experience; as Lewis N. Roe said "personal experiences are
probably the most convincing reason to believe for any individual who has had them". My personal
experience is the 1st hand experience that belongs to my private events that have taken place in
my life. This personal experience is what makes me who I am and shape me the way to react
differently in different situation either nicely or aggressively. When I think about my personal
experience, four things came to my mind, such as: the special person who taught me an important
lesson in my life; my personal experience as an immigrant; the black and white family pictures that
hang all over the wall in my house; and how my painful experience shape me to see the world from
a different prospective.
The special humble person who taught me the important lesson in my life is my father, who served
in the community as the mediator and preacher in one of an old Orthodox Church. The very
important key lesson I learned from him is that "the key to the true happiness and joy are simplicity
and humanity". My father was not a wealthy or politically powerful person, but he was very
influential, respected, happy, and God fearing person; he was very loved by the community and he
dedicated his life to preaching harmony, kindness and humanity. Always he closes his preach by

Personal Experience As A Student
From my personal experience, as a student a person who research about students and on how they
become successful is very interesting, for me, it's exceptional to study for your classes while
working concentrated. That's how students become successful to me, and it doesn't matter if you're
going to a normal or same single–sex school as long as you are able to learn what you need in order
to live a normal life. I go to a school where there are males and females of all kinds from my
observation, everyone in gender is the same, we all get acceptable grades and I have noticed
people work absolutely consolidated just to keep it that way. In my school, we bear extra–curricular
activities for students after school comparable sports, dance, work club, crown, Bros, and GSA club
these actually aid students follow and assist them master how to communicate with others. In the
article Kewauna's Ambition" by Paul Tough argues about the studentseducation should always work
hard and if you can't figure out, request for guidance which can be very understandable considering,
since the girl he interviewed from the article he stated that "she went through each red–starred word
with him, one by one, asking him to explain" (3). This quote is stating that everyone should have
at least a chance to help or seek aid from a teacher so they can improve their understanding of the
lessons. However, we should have a place an education or social–support systems in our schools

My Opinion On Personal Experience
Have you ever heard the quote: "Every book you've ever read is just a different combination of
twenty six letters"? If so, then you know how astounding that realization can be. And even though it
may be true in a sense, when a writer sits down to write, they aren't just putting words on paper.
They're tapping into a unique part of their inner consciousness. They're harnessing their imagination
and personal experiences to breathe life into an entire world that they imagined and then assembled.
That is a gift that not every writer is able to possess and it's true what people say: if you aren't feeling
the emotions within your writing as you write, then chances are, the readers won't be either. With that
in mind, it's understandable that empathy, inspiration, and the effort you put forth to connect with
your readers, all contribute to how favorable of a writer you will be.
In my opinion, personal experience isn't always necessary to be able to express certain emotions.
Experiencing something first hand surely helps, although it's possible to get your point across
without it. The ability to empathize with others or to be able to imagine how one must feel will go
a long way while writing. We're all human and understand basic emotions such as contentment, grief,
love, anger, so on and so forth. This mutual understanding between the reader and the writer will
allow you to build on those emotions through words. Overall, I believe the purpose of writing is to
convey an image that

I mean it. It may seem trivial but it is not. I am not a very happy cheerful fellow. I have my lows
and can be downright depressed sometimes. But whenever I meet a new person, talk to someone I

Imagine going to a Tea stall run by an old lady. She probably is already having a hardtime with her

Personal Experience: A Poem Analysis
This past summer I served as a co–counselor at my church's annual camp for the first time. I worked
with my old small group leader and we had a group of seventh grade girls who were all complete
strangers to the both of us. We had five days to get to know them and figure them out. Every day
they were given the opportunity to speak to us about anything that was on their heart, and the first
day we had one girl come to us and talk to us about her dad who had passed two weeks before camp
started. This was a huge hit to me like it would be to anybody, but it made me realize that my family
is not the only one suffering. My stepmom was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer last year, and
the time before camp was absolutely brutal for my family. Hearing that girl's story helped me step

night I experienced my first panic attack. I had spent so much time thinking about my life and
how poorly I thought I acted towards others when they could be going through something so
much worse than I was. Over the next several months I continued to have anxiety attacks multiple
times a week and sometimes a day. I kept trying to stay involved with my church and keep
working in my Bible by doing my quiet times, but I used every excuse in the book to get out of it
and I felt ashamed.I kept going to church, but it was like I was not even there because I would not

Personal Experience with Crisis We have all experience some form of crisis in our life. Whether it
is minor or more severe, it is something that many of us can not control. A crisis can involve a
series of stressful events or one difficult point in life that effects a person's overall well–being. I had
a hard time coming up with what to write as my crisis for this assignment because when I hear the
word crisis, the first thing that comes to mind is that crisis is a very severe event such as a war

difficult time in my life. I felt alone and out of place because I did not have friends and when I

cycle most relatable to my experience is phase 2 – The intensification stage. In this phase,
individuals feel a loss of internal control causing frustration, fear and anger. This stage is most
relevant to my experience because I felt frustrated and a loss of internal control. What caused this
crisis was me moving to Canada and not knowing the culture or English. I would not have
experienced the crisis if I knew English and Canadian culture. Due to my circumstances, there was
nothing I could have done to stop the crisis from happening. The behaviour of my peers and people

Personal Narrative Essay : Personal Experience
It was an ordinary day of being a college student at summer's eve university. The wind gently
blowing against the fresh green trees, pine cones falling softly towards the ground, and students
desperately dishing out flyers so that others will come and join their club. For me these things are
way too repetitive. I want something new to happen, such as having less homework given by my
professor or maybe even having an accident occurring. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type of
person who likes having these events happening, but I do like some excitement. I, Aiden Sartore
will make a change in my life and make it the best. Muhahaha! A sudden burst came into my room.
"Hey Aiden, can you be more quiet, I have some of my friends over for some drinks!" "How about
you knock first before you start rampaging into my room Danny!" "I can do whatever I want and
besides are you still dreaming about your little fantasies?"" Just mind your own business will ya?" I
looked at the clock, it was around six pm. I grabbed my bag and started walking towards the door.
"And where are you going?" "I'm going to the study hall so I won't be interrupted by your ruckus." I
opened the door and slammed it with anger. Danny has always been a bother ever since I was forced
to share a dorm room with him. Just looking at him made him annoying because of way slicks back
his brown greasy hair and the way he slurs his word just to act cool. We were like oil and water, we
don't mix very well.

Reflection On Personal Experience
Personal Reflection 1
Reflecting on personal and professional experiences I have become to understand that although there
is vast scholarly literature identifying the key determinants of physical activity as demographics,
social, cultural and environmental factors (Amireault, Godin, and Vezina–Im, 2013), there are also
many psychological (mental health) and health dependent (physical, structural, and functional)
determinates that have been introduced to me during my final year of study. All factors can be
internal, external, community, organisational, interpersonal and personal (****). As a future
practitioner, it is vital that I understand and identity these determinates as enablers and barriers to
improve client health outcomes.

Financial restrictions can limit choices (gym membership costs) and or create opportunities
(adventure holidays and weekends).
Cultural enables and barriers encompasses ethnicity, religion, beliefs, values, and cultural norms.
After traveling for many years, I realised how lucky I was to grow up in a country which values
physical activity and sport as not all cultures are founded on an active lifestyle of beaches, football,
cricket and outdoor life. This is however changing in recent generations and the introduction to
technology. Culture influences the way we think and act, we predominately tend to adapt to the
surrounding cultural environment due to the human desire to 'fit in' or 'be popular'.
Environmental enablers and barriers consist of climate, location, safety features, access to facilities,
and weather. Weather influences me greatly, becoming less active in winter or in poor weather than
summer because of discomfort, inconvenience and lack of motivation. Where someone lives
geographically influences access to facilities and safe environments. I have lived in the country and
on the coast and found I was more active in the coastal environment, using the beach every day,
having access to 24 hour gyms and sporting centres.

Personal Experience Of Adolescence
Adolescence is a critical period in an individual's life because the experiences during that time can
have lasting effects on the individual and who they are as an adult. In retrospect, I can now see
how two events in my life have helped mold me into who I am today. The first event was when I
decided to serve as an officer for Future Farmers of America (FFA) throughout high school and the
second is when I went on a pioneer trek for a youth conference with my home stake. The purpose of
this paper is to analyze how serving as an FFA officer affected me under the cognitive and language/
communication domains and how attending a pioneer trek affected me under the cultural awareness
and spiritual domains.

I found that I personally memorize better through repetition. Today I use the same skills when I

A third way that serving as an FFA officer helped me in the cognitive domain is that I learned time
management skills. I was extremely busy in high school with my officer responsibilities. I
quickly learned that if I did not learn how to manage my time, I would fall behind in my other
responsibilities. I chose to write out my daily schedule each night for the next day. This helped me
organize my time enough so that I could accomplish everything I needed to. Today I still plan the
night before busy days to ensure that all of my responsibilities get completed. The last outcome in
the cognitive domain is that I learned more about agriculture. I was not a typical FFA student
because I did not have an agricultural background. At many of the activities I planned, we had guest
speakers come and talk to the group about various agricultural topics such as animal products and
the newest farming technology. Now anytime I eat, I have a greater understanding of where my food
came from and the process it went through to get to me.

study better for tests and to enjoy a fun sport with family. If I continue to have exercise in my life, I
will have a healthy future.
My best experience with exercise was when I learned how to ride a two–wheel bicycle. I was 11
years old at the time and my father bought a new bicycle for me. We went to a park and my father
was giving me a little push to move forward. I almost fell and my nerves were kicking in. However,
I saw my father ride his bicycle with...show more content...
I still remember my whole body being sore from the first exercise routine. It showed me how
much I needed to exercise my body or I will be in big trouble when it comes to anything physical.
I had to do pushups, sit ups, and so much more. When I went to the gym, I was given a personal
workout to complete. I will make my own exercise plan to implement in my studying hours at
college. This gym class helped me to push my hardest, even if I felt a lot of pain. I was able to
overcome difficult workouts, like performing, squats, mountain climbers, and especially burpees.
Time management is a weakness that I still need to work on. I will be able to manage my time
with studies and physical activities in college. At the beginning of the year, my goals were to lose
pounds, and improve on exercises that I did not like, such as running and pushups. I improved on
my running by running up a hill multiple times. I had more oxygen pumping throughout my body
that enable me to run a farther distance.I lost some pounds and my family is seeing the change.
However, I still have to work on having a better diet. I tend to eat large portions that are not healthy
for me, like two plates of white rice. I will continue to lead a healthier lifestyle and hopefully my
siblings do the

Essay Personal Experience

  • 1. An Experience that changed my Life Life is full of learning and it is mostly due to our daily life experiences. These experiences are mostly based on our surrounding environment from where we learn new things every day. But all these experiences are a result of our keen observations out of daily routines. It is very important to note that life also provides us with some chances to experience new people or places that are indeed out of the ordinary. That is thetime we indeed learn new and unique things, hence these are unique experiences of our life which are remembered by us throughout our life span. I have visited USA and this was indeed a life time experience. Going through new and strikingly important things really made me filled up with pleasure. It was indeed very joyful and marvelous experience. I am very happy and expecting many more things and unique experience coming my way and making me enjoy new and exciting things. USA is a place which is full of new experiences that is what makes it even more exciting due to all kinds of diversity in food in recreation and work; hence everything here is much more diverse than a normal place available for recreation anywhere in the world. This was the first time in my life when I was to go overseas and I really enjoyed this, it was indeed marvelous experience when I visited East,...show more content... I have logic to testify my statement in terms of the reference that USA being an economic hub invites people from all parts of the world. One can always have the chance to meet many diverse people belonging to different cultures, traditions and lifestyles. So, one can enjoy a small world here in USA. I met people from different parts of the Asia–Pacific region, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Africa, Europe, Russia and Indonesia. Many of them were my online friends and we really enjoyed meeting each other in the practical world rather than the virtual world for the very first Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Essay about Personal Experience Personal Experience I have had the great opportunity to be apart of a great program and class at college. Most of us who are going to become teachers know about this class and the required 80 hours of volunteering at a middle school for a semester. I was eager to volunteer, because I have experience in working with middle school kids. The school I work for, has prepared me to handle school aged kids, so I was relying on my background to carry me though the semester at a new Middle school. The privileges of a private school are a lot different from an inner city school. When I began to volunteer at Baker I was shocked to discover that the students were not allowed to take books home to finish their school...show more content... Hanson. Mr. Hanson is a teacher in the special education department at Baker. Mr. Hanson explained to me that these students are in the special education classes so they can gain the skills to eventually re–enter the normal public school classes. Mr. Hanson explained to the students who I was, why I was here, and how long I was staying. The class I could see wasn't very enthusiastic about my added presence in their classroom. I debated on the technique I would use to gain their trust and respect. Imagine a frozen lake and every step you take is a risk, because you are not sure if the ice is going to hold or crack and break right under you. This is exactly how I felt the first week of my volunteering at Baker. I will be honest; my first week wasn't the greatest, because I was learning the ropes of the special education department. These kids in the special education program not only have to deal with their ADD, and other diagnosis, but they also have to deal with poverty. I was told by Mr. Hanson that most of the students in the special education department never graduate, because education is not an important factor in their life. Most of their parents/parent want the kids to be home helping to either take care of younger siblings while working or to help out at home. As the weeks progressed, I found the job more enjoyable, because once the students felt comfortable with a new element in their classroom Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. At some point, no one has ever been happy with their family. It may be because of a bad decision, a terrible misunderstanding or an inevitable situation. It could be a lot of things. But in my family, it was something simple yet irritating: rules. It felt suffocating. And because of it, I was hardly allowed to do the things I wanted to; like hanging out with friends for one. I can seemingly recall how often I felt left out; from the clothes I wore to the things I didn't have. And in fact, no one would believe me if I told them I don't and will never have a Facebook account. Apparently, I am not age–ready and responsible enough to have one. And even if I will be in the later years, it wouldn't be that much of a hit anymore. It...show more content... Apart from the matters regarding grades, she said that he saw the four of us (my mother, my siblings and me) playing hide–and–seek, late one afternoon. That day, the sun just went down and we were waiting for my dad to pick us up from school. It was the perfect time to play hide–and–seek. When our dad finally came, each of us lined up to kiss him on the cheek like we always did. But because I knew there were still people around, I kissed my dad quickly. As my mother continued telling me what happened during their talk, she said that my adviser suddenly burst into tears. How he wished he had a family like ours: perfect. Upon hearing the whole story, I went numb then guilty all of a sudden. How can that be? What exactly did he see in us that day which made him say that it was perfect? I felt ashamed. My teacher was hurting and I wasn't feeling anything at all. Aside from the fact that he is a guy, I couldn't imagine him crying over such a thing. I couldn't even imagine myself crying over such a thing. But I know for sure that my family is anything but perfect. I couldn't understand. Not yet. During class devotion time with our adviser one day, our point of conversation moved from the day's scripture to matters about family; something I wasn't that thrilled to be talking about then. When it was our adviser's turn to speak, he retold of the time when he saw us playing hide–and–seek Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. The Importance Of Personal Experiences Every person goes through different experiences that influence the way they mature and the way they decide future plans. My personal experiences include family factors that influenced the way I am today. I have not let the unfortunate events let my future plans differ from what was planned but they have allowed me to accept the things I cannot change and also make me realize the things I can. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change: courage to change the things I can: and wisdom to know the difference." Reinhold Neibuhr quoted this in his lifetime and it has significance to my family. It came into my family 28 years ago from my father during his recovery time. It is a common quote that is said for recovering patients and treatment centers. In the last few years I have finally been able to interpret the quote and use it in life for myself. There are things that I absolutely cannot change and personally I hate that, however, I believe through faith I am able to decipher these things I can't truly change. Some ideas and things I can change, but may also be intimidating. I refer to this quote and I am to push past those tough times and am able to change what I may not want to. To know the difference can be the hardest part in my opinion. There are things I want to change, but absolutely cannot do. To be able to use this quote in my life along with my faith, I can conquer all my goals and dreams and that is this specific quote means a lot to me. My Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My Personal Experience As a freshmen there are many experiences and trials you ,must overcome in order to support yourself as a student .These actions don't come easily and may take may attempt before learning from them. If you choices to neglect taking these action it will only end hurting you later on in your academia career. In my personal experiences, I should have been more informed of on compass resources like the AEC alongside with improving my own actions like improving important skill such time management and communication in order to support my success. There are many on campus resources that I have yet to take advantage. The Academic enhancement center in a prime example pervading helpful handout, references books and face to face interaction with skilled tutor that cover a plethora of subjects. The AEC is a great resources that I can use to clarify and learn more in–depth information about central and important question about one of my classes. As a college freshmen I really wish that I was more informed about all possible resources my campus has to offer. There are many other resources like the student wellness center that could have played a vital role in improving my physical wellness but also have a positive impact lowering my stress levels thus, improving my productivity in the class room and out .In fact I have realized that when I complete a physical activity my mind tends to be more relax and more free thinking. • 6. Personal Experience with Writing I have always considered writing to be a work in progress, and it constantly can be improved. I have always been devoted to writing. I loved to write stories as a child because I could use my creativity and create any type of character I desired. But I have struggled with writing as well. English has never been my forte. I have received A's, B's, C's, and D's on essays. I truly never found my voice in writing. In my high school, English teachers would give me mixed reviews on my writing. For example, in 9th grade my English teacher said I was organized with my thoughts, and my writing process was excellent. While in 10th,11th grade ,12th grade my teachers only said negative things about my essays. Not being a strong writer made me...show more content... The essay prompts, that I was given allowed me to challenge myself. The essay prompts were challenging because each essay I had to approach it differently. For each essay, I wanted to be creative on how I would approach it. As a writer, you have always change you writing. It was challenging to decide how I wanted to structure each essay. But, challenge is the key towards being a perfect writer. Finally, reflecting on English 114A/B my attitude and style of writing has changed. My attitude has changed because now I see writing as being therapeutic. I see writing as something to help me relieve stress. It allows me release my feelings, rather than expressing my words to someone. Also, my style of writing has changed. Taking the English stretch course at CSUN allowed me to step out of my comfort zone. For instance, I was able to let go of the five paragraph essay. It was hard, but I was able to do it slowly. Moreover, I was able to let go of the habit of starting all my essay's with a quote. It was not easy to be open to changing my writing style. I had to step out of my comfort zone. For instance, some people are scared of change because they believe that change is bad, because you do not know what to expect. I was not scared to change my writing style because I look as change as challenge, and the opportunity to start something new. Adjusting my writing style was a challenge, but I was able to do it. • 7. My Personal Experience In My Life For an individual to be a success, it is imperative to possess qualities beyond intellect. To flourish in your career and in life, your character must drive you toward your aspirations. Throughout life, several experiences have molded me into a person of resilience, empathy, and composure. Such values have allowed me to reach my goals and serve my community. In supplement to my intelligence, these assets render me an exceptional student and employee. The ability to be resilient is at the core of who I am, and the challenges that have created this strength have taught me empathy. Because of my weight, I faced bullying often and found liberation in sports and exercise. Eventually, I lost fifty pounds and ascended the social ladder. With...show more content... When my grandfather suffered from a massive heart attack, and was brain dead upon resuscitation, I started practicing composure. Once taken life support, his heart kept beating for a week. Because my parents raised me to be strong and to put others before myself, I spent the week supporting my grandmother and taking care of my grandfather's body. I never thought I could handle something like that, but for my grandfather, I would do anything. That week I truly put others before myself; staying at the hospital until the early morning, then driving straight to class, and back to the hospital again. During this time was when I knew to pick a vocation where I could be of assistance to others. Helping to care for my grandfather is what led me to my job as a nursing assistant. This is when I began discovering my love for service and developing myself as a woman for others. At work, there were days when I wanted to break down and cry in front patients due to the pain I felt at the inability of myself and the healthcare system to cure their illness, but I did not cry. Instead, I would tell them that they could handle it, and they are capable of more than they realize; that I hurt for them and that I was remorseful there is nothing further I could do. No matter how terrible my day had been, there was no other option but to walk in that room and act like I had the best day of my life and that is composure. Lucky enough to have the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Personal Narrative: A Personal Experience I struggled to identify a personal experience that impact my life as the topic for this paper. After days of thought about the assignment, I sat down to write, but I ended up staring at a blank computer screen for a long time. I thought to myself, I am struggling. This thought prompted me to think of all the times that I had struggled in my life. I remembered struggling in basketball, school, and everyday life. As I thought about them, I realized that I got through them and benefitted from the experiences. Pushing myself to my limits, looking for ways to get better, and refusing to quit had produced some good results in my life. People tend to associate struggling as a bad thing because it is a difficult experience usually filled with frustration. That can be true, but it can also lead to positive changes in life. I wanted to show how struggling with something can have positive results. ...show more content... The problem with that strategy was that it did not allow me to dive deep enough into the experience to allow the reader to gain the knowledge of my feelings. After receiving feedback on my that draft, I knew that I had to go in a different direction. I picked just one experience and really went into depth with it. This allowed me to be able to share with the reader a true sense of nervousness, frustration, satisfaction, relief, and joy. I was able to take the reader on the journey from the start to the end. After reading my paper, I wanted the reader to realize that everyone struggles in many ways. It is how a person reacts to the struggle that matters. It was through this experience that I became a better student and person. As a reader, did this cause you to think of your own experiences with struggle? Do you see how struggling could benefit a person? Did you feel my emotional struggle and personal growth throughout the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My Personal Experiences My personal experiences have made me the person I am today. My experiences have taught me to enjoy life Also to embrace and honor every minute in this precious life.Experiences are a chance to help one another get familiar with what we know and have went through to bring us were we are now. My personal experiences are greater or even less some others, starting with my trip to New York City back in 2013 on February 14th. Which was my Valentine's Day trip actually my first trip every out of the state. I enjoyed the cold weather even the heavy snow. My first instinct were to make snowmen and to see how the snow tasted, I even had a chance to meet most of my family on my mother's side of the family which live in Queens New York while were visiting in Kings New York.Just because it was Valentine's Day I was surprised with a gift to take multiple photos with most of the greatest Hip Hop R and B singers that ever lived.I were very appreciative to meet new smiling faces as well as my family that I have not seen in centuries. It was a great experience it was the best Valentines gift I could ever endure. Not only was the trip to NYC a great deal but, the day that I was chosen from my High School to spend an adventurous day with an experienced, sweet, loving and caring Sheriff and his partner was awesome. The Sheriff was surprisingly from Osceola County, the county that I resided. It dawned on me that he use to patrol in our neighborhood back in 2002.An emergency call Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. Personal Experience : My Experience My Personal Experience Whatever experience, we have either good, bad or ugly; our experience reflects on our behavior or action. In life everybody has their own experience; as Lewis N. Roe said "personal experiences are probably the most convincing reason to believe for any individual who has had them". My personal experience is the 1st hand experience that belongs to my private events that have taken place in my life. This personal experience is what makes me who I am and shape me the way to react differently in different situation either nicely or aggressively. When I think about my personal experience, four things came to my mind, such as: the special person who taught me an important lesson in my life; my personal experience as an immigrant; the black and white family pictures that hang all over the wall in my house; and how my painful experience shape me to see the world from a different prospective. The special humble person who taught me the important lesson in my life is my father, who served in the community as the mediator and preacher in one of an old Orthodox Church. The very important key lesson I learned from him is that "the key to the true happiness and joy are simplicity and humanity". My father was not a wealthy or politically powerful person, but he was very influential, respected, happy, and God fearing person; he was very loved by the community and he dedicated his life to preaching harmony, kindness and humanity. • 11. Personal Experience As A Student From my personal experience, as a student a person who research about students and on how they become successful is very interesting, for me, it's exceptional to study for your classes while working concentrated. That's how students become successful to me, and it doesn't matter if you're going to a normal or same single–sex school as long as you are able to learn what you need in order to live a normal life. I go to a school where there are males and females of all kinds from my observation, everyone in gender is the same, we all get acceptable grades and I have noticed people work absolutely consolidated just to keep it that way. In my school, we bear extra–curricular activities for students after school comparable sports, dance, work club, crown, Bros, and GSA club these actually aid students follow and assist them master how to communicate with others. In the article Kewauna's Ambition" by Paul Tough argues about the studentseducation should always work hard and if you can't figure out, request for guidance which can be very understandable considering, since the girl he interviewed from the article he stated that "she went through each red–starred word with him, one by one, asking him to explain" (3). This quote is stating that everyone should have at least a chance to help or seek aid from a teacher so they can improve their understanding of the lessons. However, we should have a place an education or social–support systems in our schools already. Throughout my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My Opinion On Personal Experience Have you ever heard the quote: "Every book you've ever read is just a different combination of twenty six letters"? If so, then you know how astounding that realization can be. And even though it may be true in a sense, when a writer sits down to write, they aren't just putting words on paper. They're tapping into a unique part of their inner consciousness. They're harnessing their imagination and personal experiences to breathe life into an entire world that they imagined and then assembled. That is a gift that not every writer is able to possess and it's true what people say: if you aren't feeling the emotions within your writing as you write, then chances are, the readers won't be either. With that in mind, it's understandable that empathy, inspiration, and the effort you put forth to connect with your readers, all contribute to how favorable of a writer you will be. In my opinion, personal experience isn't always necessary to be able to express certain emotions. Experiencing something first hand surely helps, although it's possible to get your point across without it. The ability to empathize with others or to be able to imagine how one must feel will go a long way while writing. We're all human and understand basic emotions such as contentment, grief, love, anger, so on and so forth. This mutual understanding between the reader and the writer will allow you to build on those emotions through words. Overall, I believe the purpose of writing is to convey an image that Get more content on HelpWriting.net

But whenever I meet a new person, talk to someone I make it a point to smile nowadays. Imagine going to a Tea stall run by an old lady. She probably is already having a hardtime with her life. There is no need for me to be morose when I am around her. Whenever I go to buy something, even talk to people who don't play an active part in my life I always put up my best cheerful self. • 15. Personal Experience: A Poem Analysis This past summer I served as a co–counselor at my church's annual camp for the first time. I worked with my old small group leader and we had a group of seventh grade girls who were all complete strangers to the both of us. We had five days to get to know them and figure them out. Every day they were given the opportunity to speak to us about anything that was on their heart, and the first day we had one girl come to us and talk to us about her dad who had passed two weeks before camp started. This was a huge hit to me like it would be to anybody, but it made me realize that my family is not the only one suffering. My stepmom was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer last year, and the time before camp was absolutely brutal for my family. Hearing that girl's story helped me step out of my shell of my own world and look around. I began to take more...show more content... When I got home I got more into the word and more involved with my church because I felt myself falling apart after that camp experience. During the three days of camp that we were with the girls, I did a lot of thinking about myself and how I am with other people, and then on the last night I experienced my first panic attack. I had spent so much time thinking about my life and how poorly I thought I acted towards others when they could be going through something so much worse than I was. Over the next several months I continued to have anxiety attacks multiple times a week and sometimes a day. I kept trying to stay involved with my church and keep working in my Bible by doing my quiet times, but I used every excuse in the book to get out of it and I felt ashamed.I kept going to church, but it was like I was not even there because I would not focus on anything nor did I have any desire to pay attention. • 17. Personal Experience with Crisis We have all experience some form of crisis in our life. Whether it is minor or more severe, it is something that many of us can not control. A crisis can involve a series of stressful events or one difficult point in life that effects a person's overall well–being. I had a hard time coming up with what to write as my crisis for this assignment because when I hear the word crisis, the first thing that comes to mind is that crisis is a very severe event such as a war or natural disaster. As I read more in depth about the concept of crisis, I found that it does not have to be something as serious as a war. It can simply be a point in life where you face a difficult situation that makes you feel under...show more content... Although some may not consider this a crisis, it was for me. This was a crisis for me because I moved from Ghana where the culture, language, people and overall atmosphere was different. The transition to move to a different country and learn a new culture and language was a stressful and difficult time in my life. I felt alone and out of place because I did not have friends and when I did, I could not understand or make a conversation with them for a long time. The phase in the crisis cycle most relatable to my experience is phase 2 – The intensification stage. In this phase, individuals feel a loss of internal control causing frustration, fear and anger. This stage is most relevant to my experience because I felt frustrated and a loss of internal control. What caused this crisis was me moving to Canada and not knowing the culture or English. I would not have experienced the crisis if I knew English and Canadian culture. Due to my circumstances, there was nothing I could have done to stop the crisis from happening. The behaviour of my peers and people around me during the crisis was both positive and negative, I was bullied and felt that my class mates were judging me for my accent Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Personal Narrative Essay : Personal Experience It was an ordinary day of being a college student at summer's eve university. The wind gently blowing against the fresh green trees, pine cones falling softly towards the ground, and students desperately dishing out flyers so that others will come and join their club. For me these things are way too repetitive. I want something new to happen, such as having less homework given by my professor or maybe even having an accident occurring. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the type of person who likes having these events happening, but I do like some excitement. I, Aiden Sartore will make a change in my life and make it the best. Muhahaha! A sudden burst came into my room. "Hey Aiden, can you be more quiet, I have some of my friends over for some drinks!" "How about you knock first before you start rampaging into my room Danny!" "I can do whatever I want and besides are you still dreaming about your little fantasies?"" Just mind your own business will ya?" I looked at the clock, it was around six pm. I grabbed my bag and started walking towards the door. "And where are you going?" "I'm going to the study hall so I won't be interrupted by your ruckus." I opened the door and slammed it with anger. Danny has always been a bother ever since I was forced to share a dorm room with him. Just looking at him made him annoying because of way slicks back his brown greasy hair and the way he slurs his word just to act cool. We were like oil and water, we don't mix very well. • 19. Reflection On Personal Experience Personal Reflection 1 Reflecting on personal and professional experiences I have become to understand that although there is vast scholarly literature identifying the key determinants of physical activity as demographics, social, cultural and environmental factors (Amireault, Godin, and Vezina–Im, 2013), there are also many psychological (mental health) and health dependent (physical, structural, and functional) determinates that have been introduced to me during my final year of study. All factors can be internal, external, community, organisational, interpersonal and personal (****). As a future practitioner, it is vital that I understand and identity these determinates as enablers and barriers to improve client health outcomes. So why...show more content... Financial restrictions can limit choices (gym membership costs) and or create opportunities (adventure holidays and weekends). Cultural enables and barriers encompasses ethnicity, religion, beliefs, values, and cultural norms. After traveling for many years, I realised how lucky I was to grow up in a country which values physical activity and sport as not all cultures are founded on an active lifestyle of beaches, football, cricket and outdoor life. This is however changing in recent generations and the introduction to technology. Culture influences the way we think and act, we predominately tend to adapt to the surrounding cultural environment due to the human desire to 'fit in' or 'be popular'. Environmental enablers and barriers consist of climate, location, safety features, access to facilities, and weather. Weather influences me greatly, becoming less active in winter or in poor weather than summer because of discomfort, inconvenience and lack of motivation. Where someone lives geographically influences access to facilities and safe environments. I have lived in the country and on the coast and found I was more active in the coastal environment, using the beach every day, having access to 24 hour gyms and sporting centres. • 20. Personal Experience Of Adolescence Adolescence is a critical period in an individual's life because the experiences during that time can have lasting effects on the individual and who they are as an adult. In retrospect, I can now see how two events in my life have helped mold me into who I am today. The first event was when I decided to serve as an officer for Future Farmers of America (FFA) throughout high school and the second is when I went on a pioneer trek for a youth conference with my home stake. The purpose of this paper is to analyze how serving as an FFA officer affected me under the cognitive and language/ communication domains and how attending a pioneer trek affected me under the cultural awareness and spiritual domains. Future Farmers of America Participation...show more content... I found that I personally memorize better through repetition. Today I use the same skills when I memorize information for a class presentation or test. A third way that serving as an FFA officer helped me in the cognitive domain is that I learned time management skills. I was extremely busy in high school with my officer responsibilities. I quickly learned that if I did not learn how to manage my time, I would fall behind in my other responsibilities. I chose to write out my daily schedule each night for the next day. This helped me organize my time enough so that I could accomplish everything I needed to. Today I still plan the night before busy days to ensure that all of my responsibilities get completed. The last outcome in the cognitive domain is that I learned more about agriculture. I was not a typical FFA student because I did not have an agricultural background. At many of the activities I planned, we had guest speakers come and talk to the group about various agricultural topics such as animal products and the newest farming technology. Now anytime I eat, I have a greater understanding of where my food came from and the process it went through to get to me. • 21. My Best Experience With Exercise In My Life Your body is sore from physical exercises and you feel like giving up. Then you realize that having exercise in your life will help reach your personal goals. Exercise can be a pain, but it is the good type of pain that motivates us to reach our goals. Currently, exercise has helped me to study better for tests and to enjoy a fun sport with family. If I continue to have exercise in my life, I will have a healthy future. My best experience with exercise was when I learned how to ride a two–wheel bicycle. I was 11 years old at the time and my father bought a new bicycle for me. This gym class helped me to push my hardest, even if I felt a lot of pain. I was able to overcome difficult workouts, like performing, squats, mountain climbers, and especially burpees. Time management is a weakness that I still need to work on. I will be able to manage my time with studies and physical activities in college. At the beginning of the year, my goals were to lose pounds, and improve on exercises that I did not like, such as running and pushups. I improved on my running by running up a hill multiple times. I had more oxygen pumping throughout my body that enable me to run a farther distance.I lost some pounds and my family is seeing the change. However, I still have to work on having a better diet. I tend to eat large portions that are not healthy for me, like two plates of white rice.
