APA Competency Paper
I propose to incorporate some APA exercise into the course curriculum. Nurses have to develop
accurate and precise information to provide quality care for their patients and APA helps with that.
APA structuring in the nursing career is critical in communication between health care providers
because it encourages professional writing. Nursing notes are considered legal documentations
therefor the notes need to be accurate and clear on who the author of these notes are, which in
turn would require proper citations. Most nursing programs require their student nurses to write
college papers in APA style and APA style citations. In some schools before completing a nursing
degree student are required to complete a thesis paper like a study in the direction of resolving a
problem in the nursing field. Other schools require a Portfolio which would include certifications,
degrees, experience, research and or scholarly work. Either way, before graduating most nursing
schools require that you as the graduate nurse are able to write a proper paper showing proper APA
citations....show more content...
In my own personal experience, this is the first class I have taken that requires APA formatting. I
have taken several years of classes that require MLA layout, but none that required APA. I have to
say that I find this very surprising seeing as I am and have been registered as a nursing student. As a
nursing student, I would have expected to have seen APA type of structuring in most of my

Vygotsky and Piaget Theory
Vygotsky and Piaget Theory Vygotsky and Piaget Cognitive development can be described as the
process in which a person constructs their thoughts for example, remembering things, problem
solving and attention. In this essay I am going to evaluate the theories of Piaget and Vygotsky. I will
look into the weaknesses and strengths of the theories with supporting evidence and also the
similarities and the differences of the two theories. Piaget believed that children develop through the
interaction of innate capacities with environmental events (Gross 2005). He saw children as
scientists and he also argued that cognitive development consists of four evident phases the first
phase being the sensorimotor stage, the...show more content...
This is done through inner speech and verbal thought. Humans are born with the ability to interact
with others, but they could not do much for themselves. However through a gradual process, the
individual moves towards being independent and abilities become transformed through participating
in social activities. Proximal development was Vygotsky`s second aspect of his cognitive theory. He
felt that children might not be able to archive on their own. Therefore, he felt that it was important
to achieve maximum learning. Scaffolding was the next stage that involved in encouraging and
offering advice to children for example, hints and pointers on how to learn new things and solve
problems on their own. Vygotsky argued that our cognitive development involves problem solving
processes that take place due to the interaction between children and those with whom they are
regularly in contact with. The parents are the first contact then later moves on to friends, classmates
and teachers. According to Flavell (1982) and Siegal (2003), they argued that although Piaget's
theory has had great reach and significance, it has encountered criticism of some aspects of it.
Problems with his theory have gradually surfaced. Some of the similarities seen in these two theories
were that children were curious, problem solving human beings who played an active part in their
own development. They both agreed

idea to develop a structure of logicalness, and then there are Formal Operations, this stage started at

this point are about the same as an adult.
3. Vygotsky's main Theory is the Social Development Theory. He was known for his Sociocultural
Theory.
With this theory, he talks about how children's behaviors, as well as their thoughts, can differ
because of cultures and how they are raised. The children's interactions change according to their
cultures and teachings.
His theory suggests that the children's development is according to their cultures and how they are
raised, the children have their own view of their world depending on their way they are taught and
the tools that they are given as they grow up. Vygotsky talks about imitative learning, instructed
learning, and collaborative learning. Imitative learning is where the child learns from watching and
imitating a person. Instructed learning where the student learns to remember the teacher 's
instructions then they are to do the work, and then there is Collaborative, this involves students that

Trial Testing in Children

Trial Testing in Children Our country is one where every day, new medical treatments and
medicines are being discovered and being approved to help Americans battle all of the different
diseases and conditions that affect us. In order for us to be able to get access to those medications
and treatments, many people agree to become part of clinical trials, they are the first to receive the
treatments, this helps to understand how the body will be affected and if the medication will be
effective. People who are part of these clinical trials, go through extensive medical testing, and they
must be of sound mind and...show more content...
In current times, children are not getting infected with diseases in order to find curative vaccines,
but they are being made part of clinical trials for studies of genetic screening, the enrollment of
healthy children in studies of sibling bone marrow donation, and the use of hypothermia for
neonates with asphyxia (Laventhal, Tarini & Lantos, 2012). These trial studies have become
ethical dilemmas in pediatrics for various reasons, people believe that there are not strong enough
regulations for these trials and also that children are not given the opportunity to make their own
decisions, most of the time, because children are underage, parents are the ones who make the
decision of making their children part of these studies. Current regulations for pediatric clinical
trials only require the consent of one parent, unless they are high level risk trials, in which case
both parents needs to give approval and the child must also assent. The issue of children given
assent for high risk trials is controversial because how do we know that the children really
understand the risks that are associated with the trials, do they fully understand that they could
possibly get hurt and sometimes their lives can be in danger.

APA Style Analysis
APA Style Sample
APA (American Psychological Association) style is primarily used in the social science disciplines.
It is formatted like MLA, and shows many similarities, but is unique in several key points.
APA uses parenthetical (or in–text) citations within sentences, but rather than indicating the author's
name and page number, APA includes author's name anddate of publication. The page number,
represented with a p. or a pp., is only added to the citation when using a direct quote (not a summary
or paraphrase). If the author's name is mentioned in the sentence, then place the date of publication in
parentheses directly after the name. If the name is...show more content...
All of the interviewees have been called 'exceptions to the norm' (Strong & Porter, 1998, p.
565).
Note the first example paraphrases an author that is named in the sentence, the second example
paraphrases authors that are not named in the sentence, and the third example provides a direct
quote (thus the inclusion of the page numbers) but also does not identify the authors within the
sentence. If the authors were identified within the sentence in the third example, the authors' names
would be followed by the year of publication and only the page numbers would be in the parentheses
at the end of the quote.
Finally, the bibliographic page in APA style differs from MLA, what APA calls the Reference page.
You will notice a few immediate differences from the MLA Works Cited format. With APA you
include the initial of the author's first name rather than the complete name, the publication date
immediately follows the author's name in parentheses, and titles of articles are not surrounded with
quotation marks (however titles of books, magazines, journals, etc are still underlined). The lists are
still alphabetized by author's last name (or title in the absence of an author) and the first line is flush
left while subsequent lines in the same entry are indented in (approximately 5 spaces or one tab). For
journals and magazines, publication title and volume number are both underlined,

APA Writing Style Essay
American Psychological Association (APA) writing style exists for a reason and this reason is
because writers' must give "credibility where credibility is due"(Walden Writing Center, 2015) .
During my BSW program I learned this and also, the importance of integrity in college level
writing. In my opinion, two aspects of APA that I think will not challenge me are direct
quotations and listing references. I have to admit I prefer to quote intellecutual matter directly
rather than, use paraphazing. I believe this is approriate to do if the quote you utilize is short and
all of your agrguments regarding, the content of the quote, are your own ideas. Another thing that
will come easily to me is listing my references. This comes easily to me because during my
undergraduate education, I excelled in this area. The reason for this is because everytime I wrote a
reference page I always refered to my courses APA manual.
Eventhough I have had a through exposure to APA, it has been a year since I have utilized this
writing style. Also, my current position does not require the use of APA. Therefore, a saying comes
to mind "if you don't use it you lose it". Currently, this is my situation. As a result, Walden
University's module on Passive Plagarism...show more content...
As I stated earlier, I prefer to avoid paraphazing in my writing. The reason for this is because the
arguments I construst in my papers are straight forward, to the point, and my own ideas. Also,
gradewise, I did not get penalized for this in my BSW program. However, Walden Univerisity's
Passive Plagarism module taught me that it is ok to directly quote material, but paraphazing is
strongly prefered in college level writing. During my Master of social work program, I will utilize
more paraphazing in my papers. On the same note, quoting directly can be considered a more
systematic approach to APA

Art Therapy Personal Statement
I grew up alongside the wild Rocky Mountain Columbines, where the air is crisp and the winters
are long. I spent my time engaging in the arts such as acting, writing, and creating. From a young
age I was drawn to the world of imagination and found happiness through producing art. We all
face and over come challenges within our lives and whenever I am faced with hardship I find
comfort in visually expressing myself. For a long time I aspired to become a teacher of the arts. I had
always felt it was my duty to share my passion with others. I wanted not only to teach individuals
about the color pallets VanGough idealized, but also to show in times of need how art can be
your best friend. Whenever I find myself caught up in the mysteries of life I turn to my sketch
pad and there I find clarity. It may not always result in an answer but creating art simplifies the
heart. When I began College at Colorado State University Pueblo with the intention to become a
teacher I took a wide variety of art classes. From painting to ceramics to photography. I fell in love
over and over and over again, and consider myself a jack of all trades. However I was drawn

Apa Self Assessment Example
1.I believe when it comes to assessing a fellow peers work their ideas should come across clear and
concise. Their grammar does not have to be perfect, but tolerable for the sake of comprehension. It
should follow the American Psychological Association format (APA), in size 12 font, and Times
New Roman font style. An excellent resource on APA format is Purdue Online Writing Lab. (https:/
/owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/)
2.I will assess all assignments as fairly as possible, I would hope the same is done for me, despite
any differences I may have with the writer when it comes to their views on a particular subject.
When it comes to feedback, I would try and abstain from stating my personal feelings or opposing
view, only focusing on the quality of the material being presented. Overall, my response would be
critical, yet positive. This would ensure an accurate and honest assessment on my behalf.
Furthermore, from the Learning Guide Unit this week, Brown, Rust, and Gibbs (1994) suggested
assessment may encourage a more in–depth knowledge of the material, I agree very much with this
theory. By virtue of that, I will take my peers view into contemplation, this way I can think about the
information from a different angle in an attempt to further my own understanding of the criteria.

During an assessment I will use The Three Domains of Learning (Bloom et. al. 1956) from the
Learning Guide, mainly from the 'Knowledge Domain'. Students should be able to recall key
information during discussions, and illustrate key aspects during writing assignments, this entails
comprehension and is indicative of learning.
In America standardized assessment is controversial because some feel it limits the overall range of
education by only teaching the material present in examinations. Using this style of testing methods
to assess students also can have negative effects on the child such as

Apa Reflection Papers
In Honors English III, Mrs. Bryce assigned the class a research project. Although we were allowed
to work in groups, all of the writing portions were expected to be done individually. We were
allowed do to research on any topic that we wanted. Unlike most papers we had written, this paper
would be written in APA format. Some of the work would be done in class, such as the Introduction
and Literature Review. However, most of it was expected to be done outside of school. Some
additional requirements was that we had a minimum of three data collection sources and three
findings from them.

I also used an assortment of transition words while composing this paper. These words include
although, however, and also. An example of times when I used a variety of transition words
would be, "However, there are many steps staff members can take to create a safe and effective
lockdown." When switching from this topic to the next I then wrote, "He also mentioned that all
staff should have access to keys and doors that are not used commonly should be locked." I also
used proper syntax, which allowed me to create well–formed sentences. For example, the sentence,
"Lastly, we asked East High's principal, Mr. Todd, some questions concerning the security budget
at the school to see if there was any way to solve any of these problems." uses proper syntax. This
sentence would have still made perfect sense if I has just said, "concerning the security budget at
school," but by adding the word the it made it more well–formed. The use of both transitions and
syntax was able to link the major sections of the text, create cohesion, and clarify the relationships
among complex ideas and concepts. d. During our research paper, Viviana and I held a couple of
interviews. In these interviews we would relate the questions we were asking to other topics, making
it easier to understand. For example, we often made analogies between the Columbine school
shooting and a school shooting that could possibly occur here if school security is not changed.
When analyzing the data we also compared the

American Psychological Association (APA) Abstract American Psychological Association is the

psychology's role in advancing health and increasing acknowledgment of psychology as a science.
The structure of APA includes an executive officer, administrative and business offices, information

Reflection Of APA Style Writing
First of all I would like to thank you for the time and hard work you put in this semester to teach
my classmates and me. This semester I learned a lot in your class such as APA style writing, how
to write different format essays and Bloom's Taxonomy. In your course I not only lesrned how to
become a better learner but also a better person. I still remember how nervous I was feeling the
first day of class. This was my first semester attending college, which made me feel worse. Since
the first day I came into your class I was expecting this course to help me improve my writting
skills in English. I consider spelling to be my greatest weakness in writing because my first language
is Spanish and I have a lot of trouble learning English. In this letter I will let you know what I
learned and how I have met the programs standards of focus, development and clarity because I have
practice APA style, writting assays and using Bloom's Toxonomy
When I was in my senior year of high school, I learned a little about writing in APA style. In your
course I learned that I was making some mistakes when I thought I was using APA style the
correct way. Something that I considered to be very helpful for me was getting the help from the
librarian on how to use APA style using different kind of sources such as books, newspapers and
vedios. The yellow sheet he gave us in his presentation was allot of help throughout the semester
because I would always use it when It was time to do writing assignments. Learning how to
properly use Apa style was very helpful for me becuse now I apply those skills on my assignments
and I do a better job than befor. Now I feel way more comfortable and confident while writting.
Before learning the proper way of using APA style I was always unsure If I was giving credit to the
sources I was using. I'm planning on applying this writing skill in and out of class to have a clear
and smooth writing when It gets to give credit to sources.
Throughout the semester we practice literature by writing several essays such as diagnostic,
narrative, current event and common exit essay. In all these four essays the two that I found to be the
hardest ones was the narrative and the current even. I consider the narrative

Apa Poverty Research Paper
Hey Marquitta, I really enjoyed reading your post. I agree with you when you say that poverty is
looked upon as the lowest part of life because it is. Society today is so caught up on their lives,
and how they can get ahead, that they forget about the forgotten. The forgotten could be that
neighbor who needs food, to the homeless man you see every day on your way to work, or that side
of town that is living in poverty. I love how you state that Mike experience showed what it truly
means to rely on God, and that is so true. Most of the time, people only rely on God doing the bad
times, but we should always rely on him doing the good, and the bad times.

APA offers guidelines for overall paper layout, citations, abstract, style, and references. Students are
often asked to adhere to the APA guidelines whenwriting papers, research essays, and reports.
Understanding and following the rules of APA can assist a student in writing a well
–formatted and
professional looking academic paper. Preparing a paper using APA format creates a presentation
that is uniform in appearance, which can make a paper easier to follow. According to the 6th Edition
of the APA Publication Manual, papers have 1 inch margins, are double

APA recommends four major sections of a paper: title page, abstract, body and reference page. A
properly formatted abstract, which is a precise summary of the research conducted, will give the
reader an idea of what will come in the body of the paper. A reference page will allow the reader to
further investigate the research presented.
Learning APA format can improve the writing skills of students, by asking them to consider word
choice and writing style. An APA
–formatted paper follows guidelines in regards to voice, point of
view, and clarity. For example, APA suggests that a writer aim for a clear and concise voice, absent
of bias and poetic language. The guidelines also suggest using the active voice in papers, which
makes a writer more aware of sentence

Apa Sample Essay Paper

  • 1. APA Competency Paper I propose to incorporate some APA exercise into the course curriculum. Nurses have to develop accurate and precise information to provide quality care for their patients and APA helps with that. APA structuring in the nursing career is critical in communication between health care providers because it encourages professional writing. Nursing notes are considered legal documentations therefor the notes need to be accurate and clear on who the author of these notes are, which in turn would require proper citations. Most nursing programs require their student nurses to write college papers in APA style and APA style citations. In some schools before completing a nursing degree student are required to complete a thesis paper like a study in the direction of resolving a problem in the nursing field. Other schools require a Portfolio which would include certifications, degrees, experience, research and or scholarly work. Either way, before graduating most nursing schools require that you as the graduate nurse are able to write a proper paper showing proper APA citations....show more content... In my own personal experience, this is the first class I have taken that requires APA formatting. I have taken several years of classes that require MLA layout, but none that required APA. I have to say that I find this very surprising seeing as I am and have been registered as a nursing student. As a nursing student, I would have expected to have seen APA type of structuring in most of my Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 2. Vygotsky and Piaget Theory Vygotsky and Piaget Theory Vygotsky and Piaget Cognitive development can be described as the process in which a person constructs their thoughts for example, remembering things, problem solving and attention. In this essay I am going to evaluate the theories of Piaget and Vygotsky. I will look into the weaknesses and strengths of the theories with supporting evidence and also the similarities and the differences of the two theories. Piaget believed that children develop through the interaction of innate capacities with environmental events (Gross 2005). He saw children as scientists and he also argued that cognitive development consists of four evident phases the first phase being the sensorimotor stage, the...show more content... This is done through inner speech and verbal thought. Humans are born with the ability to interact with others, but they could not do much for themselves. However through a gradual process, the individual moves towards being independent and abilities become transformed through participating in social activities. Proximal development was Vygotsky`s second aspect of his cognitive theory. He felt that children might not be able to archive on their own. Therefore, he felt that it was important to achieve maximum learning. Scaffolding was the next stage that involved in encouraging and offering advice to children for example, hints and pointers on how to learn new things and solve problems on their own. Vygotsky argued that our cognitive development involves problem solving processes that take place due to the interaction between children and those with whom they are regularly in contact with. The parents are the first contact then later moves on to friends, classmates and teachers. According to Flavell (1982) and Siegal (2003), they argued that although Piaget's theory has had great reach and significance, it has encountered criticism of some aspects of it. Problems with his theory have gradually surfaced. Some of the similarities seen in these two theories were that children were curious, problem solving human beings who played an active part in their own development. They both agreed Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 4. The purpose of this paper is to compare and contrast two famous educators using APA Style. This paper will talk about theories of Piaget and Vygotsky in which similarities and differences in their theories will be discussed. At the end of this paper, you will be able to understand the differences between both famous educators. 1. If we take a brief look and compare Piaget 's Theory with Vygotsky Theory we will see that Piaget Theory was a Constructivist Theory, while Vygotsky Theory was a Sociocultural Theory /Social Development Theory. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx 2. He was known for his Sociocultural Theory. With this theory, he talks about how children's behaviors, as well as their thoughts, can differ because of cultures and how they are raised. The children's interactions change according to their cultures and teachings. His theory suggests that the children's development is according to their cultures and how they are raised, the children have their own view of their world depending on their way they are taught and the tools that they are given as they grow up. Vygotsky talks about imitative learning, instructed learning, and collaborative learning. Imitative learning is where the child learns from watching and imitating a person. Instructed learning where the student learns to remember the teacher 's instructions then they are to do the work, and then there is Collaborative, this involves students that work together and try to understand one another and work together Get more content on HelpWriting.net

APA Ethical Dilemma Paper Trial Testing in Children Leslie Aguilar Chamberlain College of Nursing NR 322: Pediatric Nursing 3/28/15 Trial Testing in Children Our country is one where every day, new medical treatments and medicines are being discovered and being approved to help Americans battle all of the different diseases and conditions that affect us. In order for us to be able to get access to those medications and treatments, many people agree to become part of clinical trials, they are the first to receive the treatments, this helps to understand how the body will be affected and if the medication will be effective. People who are part of these clinical trials, go through extensive medical testing, and they must be of sound mind and...show more content... In current times, children are not getting infected with diseases in order to find curative vaccines, but they are being made part of clinical trials for studies of genetic screening, the enrollment of healthy children in studies of sibling bone marrow donation, and the use of hypothermia for neonates with asphyxia (Laventhal, Tarini & Lantos, 2012). These trial studies have become ethical dilemmas in pediatrics for various reasons, people believe that there are not strong enough regulations for these trials and also that children are not given the opportunity to make their own decisions, most of the time, because children are underage, parents are the ones who make the decision of making their children part of these studies. Current regulations for pediatric clinical trials only require the consent of one parent, unless they are high level risk trials, in which case both parents needs to give approval and the child must also assent. The issue of children given assent for high risk trials is controversial because how do we know that the children really understand the risks that are associated with the trials, do they fully understand that they could possibly get hurt and sometimes their lives can be in danger. • 7. APA Style Analysis APA Style Sample APA (American Psychological Association) style is primarily used in the social science disciplines. It is formatted like MLA, and shows many similarities, but is unique in several key points. APA uses parenthetical (or in–text) citations within sentences, but rather than indicating the author's name and page number, APA includes author's name anddate of publication. The page number, represented with a p. or a pp., is only added to the citation when using a direct quote (not a summary or paraphrase). If the author's name is mentioned in the sentence, then place the date of publication in parentheses directly after the name. If the name is...show more content... All of the interviewees have been called 'exceptions to the norm' (Strong & Porter, 1998, p. 565). Note the first example paraphrases an author that is named in the sentence, the second example paraphrases authors that are not named in the sentence, and the third example provides a direct quote (thus the inclusion of the page numbers) but also does not identify the authors within the sentence. If the authors were identified within the sentence in the third example, the authors' names would be followed by the year of publication and only the page numbers would be in the parentheses at the end of the quote. Finally, the bibliographic page in APA style differs from MLA, what APA calls the Reference page. You will notice a few immediate differences from the MLA Works Cited format. With APA you include the initial of the author's first name rather than the complete name, the publication date immediately follows the author's name in parentheses, and titles of articles are not surrounded with quotation marks (however titles of books, magazines, journals, etc are still underlined). The lists are still alphabetized by author's last name (or title in the absence of an author) and the first line is flush left while subsequent lines in the same entry are indented in (approximately 5 spaces or one tab). For journals and magazines, publication title and volume number are both underlined, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. APA Writing Style Essay American Psychological Association (APA) writing style exists for a reason and this reason is because writers' must give "credibility where credibility is due"(Walden Writing Center, 2015) . During my BSW program I learned this and also, the importance of integrity in college level writing. In my opinion, two aspects of APA that I think will not challenge me are direct quotations and listing references. I have to admit I prefer to quote intellecutual matter directly rather than, use paraphazing. I believe this is approriate to do if the quote you utilize is short and all of your agrguments regarding, the content of the quote, are your own ideas. Another thing that will come easily to me is listing my references. This comes easily to me because during my undergraduate education, I excelled in this area. The reason for this is because everytime I wrote a reference page I always refered to my courses APA manual. Eventhough I have had a through exposure to APA, it has been a year since I have utilized this writing style. Also, my current position does not require the use of APA. Therefore, a saying comes to mind "if you don't use it you lose it". Currently, this is my situation. As a result, Walden University's module on Passive Plagarism...show more content... As I stated earlier, I prefer to avoid paraphazing in my writing. The reason for this is because the arguments I construst in my papers are straight forward, to the point, and my own ideas. Also, gradewise, I did not get penalized for this in my BSW program. However, Walden Univerisity's Passive Plagarism module taught me that it is ok to directly quote material, but paraphazing is strongly prefered in college level writing. During my Master of social work program, I will utilize more paraphazing in my papers. On the same note, quoting directly can be considered a more systematic approach to APA Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Regarding the course writing assignments I appreciate the Rubics. It serves as a map for me when I am completing my writing assignments. The Rubic also helps with the flow of my papers. When I am writing my assignments I approach my paper as a puzzle and allow the Rubics to serve as my guide. It is easier and less complicated for me to research, write and compile my paper. It may sound a little off but the process works for me. The information in the APA writing guide is extremely helpful. • 10. Art Therapy Personal Statement I grew up alongside the wild Rocky Mountain Columbines, where the air is crisp and the winters are long. I spent my time engaging in the arts such as acting, writing, and creating. From a young age I was drawn to the world of imagination and found happiness through producing art. We all face and over come challenges within our lives and whenever I am faced with hardship I find comfort in visually expressing myself. For a long time I aspired to become a teacher of the arts. I had always felt it was my duty to share my passion with others. I wanted not only to teach individuals about the color pallets VanGough idealized, but also to show in times of need how art can be your best friend. Whenever I find myself caught up in the mysteries of life I turn to my sketch pad and there I find clarity. It may not always result in an answer but creating art simplifies the heart. When I began College at Colorado State University Pueblo with the intention to become a teacher I took a wide variety of art classes. From painting to ceramics to photography. I fell in love over and over and over again, and consider myself a jack of all trades. However I was drawn intensely into the world of Digital Art. • 11. Apa Self Assessment Example 1.I believe when it comes to assessing a fellow peers work their ideas should come across clear and concise. Their grammar does not have to be perfect, but tolerable for the sake of comprehension. It should follow the American Psychological Association format (APA), in size 12 font, and Times New Roman font style. An excellent resource on APA format is Purdue Online Writing Lab. (https:/ /owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/) 2.I will assess all assignments as fairly as possible, I would hope the same is done for me, despite any differences I may have with the writer when it comes to their views on a particular subject. When it comes to feedback, I would try and abstain from stating my personal feelings or opposing view, only focusing on the quality of the material being presented. Overall, my response would be critical, yet positive. This would ensure an accurate and honest assessment on my behalf. Furthermore, from the Learning Guide Unit this week, Brown, Rust, and Gibbs (1994) suggested assessment may encourage a more in–depth knowledge of the material, I agree very much with this theory. By virtue of that, I will take my peers view into contemplation, this way I can think about the information from a different angle in an attempt to further my own understanding of the criteria. 3....show more content... During an assessment I will use The Three Domains of Learning (Bloom et. al. 1956) from the Learning Guide, mainly from the 'Knowledge Domain'. Students should be able to recall key information during discussions, and illustrate key aspects during writing assignments, this entails comprehension and is indicative of learning. In America standardized assessment is controversial because some feel it limits the overall range of education by only teaching the material present in examinations. Using this style of testing methods to assess students also can have negative effects on the child such as Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Apa Reflection Papers In Honors English III, Mrs. Bryce assigned the class a research project. Although we were allowed to work in groups, all of the writing portions were expected to be done individually. We were allowed do to research on any topic that we wanted. Unlike most papers we had written, this paper would be written in APA format. Some of the work would be done in class, such as the Introduction and Literature Review. However, most of it was expected to be done outside of school. Some additional requirements was that we had a minimum of three data collection sources and three findings from them. Reflection: a. I also used an assortment of transition words while composing this paper. These words include although, however, and also. An example of times when I used a variety of transition words would be, "However, there are many steps staff members can take to create a safe and effective lockdown." When switching from this topic to the next I then wrote, "He also mentioned that all staff should have access to keys and doors that are not used commonly should be locked." I also used proper syntax, which allowed me to create well–formed sentences. For example, the sentence, "Lastly, we asked East High's principal, Mr. Todd, some questions concerning the security budget at the school to see if there was any way to solve any of these problems." uses proper syntax. This sentence would have still made perfect sense if I has just said, "concerning the security budget at school," but by adding the word the it made it more well–formed. The use of both transitions and syntax was able to link the major sections of the text, create cohesion, and clarify the relationships among complex ideas and concepts. d. During our research paper, Viviana and I held a couple of interviews. In these interviews we would relate the questions we were asking to other topics, making it easier to understand. For example, we often made analogies between the Columbine school shooting and a school shooting that could possibly occur here if school security is not changed. • 14. Reflection Of APA Style Writing First of all I would like to thank you for the time and hard work you put in this semester to teach my classmates and me. This semester I learned a lot in your class such as APA style writing, how to write different format essays and Bloom's Taxonomy. In your course I not only lesrned how to become a better learner but also a better person. I still remember how nervous I was feeling the first day of class. This was my first semester attending college, which made me feel worse. Since the first day I came into your class I was expecting this course to help me improve my writting skills in English. I consider spelling to be my greatest weakness in writing because my first language is Spanish and I have a lot of trouble learning English. In this letter I will let you know what I learned and how I have met the programs standards of focus, development and clarity because I have practice APA style, writting assays and using Bloom's Toxonomy When I was in my senior year of high school, I learned a little about writing in APA style. In your course I learned that I was making some mistakes when I thought I was using APA style the correct way. Something that I considered to be very helpful for me was getting the help from the librarian on how to use APA style using different kind of sources such as books, newspapers and vedios. The yellow sheet he gave us in his presentation was allot of help throughout the semester because I would always use it when It was time to do writing assignments. Learning how to properly use Apa style was very helpful for me becuse now I apply those skills on my assignments and I do a better job than befor. Now I feel way more comfortable and confident while writting. Before learning the proper way of using APA style I was always unsure If I was giving credit to the sources I was using. I'm planning on applying this writing skill in and out of class to have a clear and smooth writing when It gets to give credit to sources. Throughout the semester we practice literature by writing several essays such as diagnostic, narrative, current event and common exit essay. In all these four essays the two that I found to be the hardest ones was the narrative and the current even. I consider the narrative Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 15. Apa Poverty Research Paper Hey Marquitta, I really enjoyed reading your post. I agree with you when you say that poverty is looked upon as the lowest part of life because it is. Society today is so caught up on their lives, and how they can get ahead, that they forget about the forgotten. The forgotten could be that neighbor who needs food, to the homeless man you see every day on your way to work, or that side of town that is living in poverty. I love how you state that Mike experience showed what it truly means to rely on God, and that is so true. Most of the time, people only rely on God doing the bad times, but we should always rely on him doing the good, and the bad times. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Apa Plagiarism Essay APA Citation Style and Plagiarism Maria Carolina Manalili Introduction to Computer – – AP 108 International College of Cayman Islands The librarian visited our class to do a presentation regarding the APA Citation Style and Plagiarism.
