Shintoism
1. What is Shinto?
What do you know of religion in Japan,
Not much you say,
Do they worship an animal or a man,
Is it observed only on Sunday?
Shinto, do you know what it means,
It is the spirituality of Japan,
A practice that is routine,
It’s not a cult or a klan.
Shinto means “way of the gods”,
And stresses the virtue of cleanliness,
This isn’t odd,
Don’t forget another point, friendliness.
Kami is a sacred space,
That is for prayers or a special ritual,
It is believed to live in a beautiful place,
For the Japanese this practice is habitual.
Now you know a little more,
About another country and their belief,
Can you tell me more than before,
And now that this is over it is such a relief.
