The Foo Fighters were formed by David Grohl after the death of his previous band. Their self-titled debut album Foo Fighters had a science fiction theme, as seen in the cover art of a Buck Rogers ray gun and the name of their record label "Roswell Records," referencing the Roswell UFO incident. The album contained 12 songs and had a booklet with band images and lyrics continuing the retro futuristic design of the album cover.
