This document provides instructions for extensively cleaning a car's gas tank. It recommends using acids like muriatic or phosphoric acid, as well as other cleaning agents like acetone, vinegar, hot water, and detergent. The instructions describe cleaning methods using each of these agents. Vinegar is poured into the empty tank overnight to dissolve rust, then rinsed out. A detergent and hot water mixture is left in the tank over an hour before rinsing. Acetone is shaken vigorously in the tank to remove rust. An acid rinse involves adding acid and hot water to the half-filled tank for 2-2.5 hours before draining. Safety precautions like using the methods outdoors and protective equipment are advised
8. The vinegar we used in our
food contains acetic acid
which is also used or
dissolving the rust inside
the tank.
9. Pour vinegar in an empty
tank to its brim and close it to
keep the vinegar overnight.
Next day pour out some
quantity of vinegar from the
tank and shake the rest of
them vigorously.
10. After that empties the
contents from the tank.
Then pour the baking soda
into the tank and keep it
aside an hour for rinsing
with the water.
20. The muriatic acid or
phosphoric acids are also
used for cleaning the tank.
When you are using the
muriatic acid, use thick
rubber hand-gloves and
glasses.
21. Pour the hot water in the
tank until it is half full and
add a half gallon of acid
with the hot water.
22. Then close the gas tank
with a cap but don't use the
tank cap. Leave them for 2
to 2 1/2 hour to settle down
in a tank. Then dispense the
mixture from the tank.
