To Whom It May Concern:
Reference for Mr Colin Dickie.
I have been asked by Colin to provide a reference as part of his
residency application, please accept this letter as such and get in touch
should you require any further details.
I can confirm that Chariot Construction employed the services of Colin
as an overhead linesman from December 2003 until January 2005. His
hours of work were full-time, always a minimum of 45 hours per week,
and his gross earnings were approximately £2,000 per week.
Colin is particularly skilled in rigging and climbing and I have known
him for many years, working with him personally on a number of
projects for main contractors such as Eve Group and Balfour Kilpatrick
over a 15 year period prior to his engagement with Chariot
Construction.
I can confirm that Colin has solid experience on 132kV-400kV lines
and is competent in high-tension stringing, spacering, re-insulating,
assembly and erection using crane and derrick, dismantling, and
operation of winch and platform.
Colin’s attitude towards his work is always professional and reliable
with the focus always on health and safety, and he encourages this
culture amongst his fellow workers. He had a zero accident record for
Chariot Construction. He is always my first choice as foreman and is
an excellent and respected team leader, although his performance is
equally high when in a subordinate role. It is without question that I
would not hesitate to employ Colin again in the future and would
certainly recommend him to potential employers as a first class
linesman.
If you require any further information regarding Colin, please feel free
to contact me any time and I will be happy to oblige. I am currently in
Australia as we have moved our operations here for the medium-term,
so should you need to contact me, please use the details on the
Australian letterhead attached.
Yours sincerely,
Pat Keaveney
Managing Director
