While Chile has industrial production, it has not reached high levels of production with high added value. Retail is a major growing industry in Chile, with $3 billion in investments from 2006-2009. However, industrial design is still weak in Chile due to a lack of social recognition, low labor demand, and an oversupply of professionals.
