Roscoe Village was originally developed in the early 1900s to accommodate visitors to a large nearby amusement park. Over time, crime became an issue in the late 1970s but a community group helped improve safety. Today, Roscoe Village is a neighborhood located between Addison St, Ravenswood Ave, Belmont Ave and the Chicago River, with a population of around 16,000 people that is racially diverse and has a median income of $92,000.
