MGM stands for Metro Goldwyn Mayer
MGM was founded in 1924 when entrepreneur Marcus Loew brought
Metro pictures, Goldwyn pictures and Louis B. Mayer pictures.
Based in Beverly Hills California its one of the oldest major film studios
In 1971 it was announced MGM would Merge with 20th century fox
however this never happened over the next 35 years it was sold to
various people then on November 3rd, 2010 MGM filed for bankruptcy
and emerged from this December 20th the same year when the
executives of spyglass entertainment became CEOs of MGM

The current owner/CEO is Gary Barber born in Johannesburg in 1957
he has been CEO of MGM since 2010.

As well as films MGM also produce’s T V shows most notably Tom
and Jerry, The pink panther, star gate universe and most recently
Vikings.

MGM produce the James Bond films and they are set to for the
foreseeable future the next James bond film “spectre” is set to be
released November 6th 2015

The UKTV network was formed in 1997 as a joint venture between
the BBC and Flextech and is one of the Uk’s largest TV company's

The Owner is Southbank media ltd, who subsequently Scripps Media
Investments LI based in Luxemburg and Scripps Networks Interactive
Inc.
The CEO is Darren Childs born in Doncaster he has been CEO of the
UKTV network for the last four years.

The UKTV does make some of its own programs for example an
upcoming show on there channel Dave called “Hoff the record”
however most of the programs they show they have brought from
the BBC, examples include Top gear shown on Dave and Time team
on Yesterday.

It invested a record 125m in programming and related launces last
year and is becoming an increasingly significant investor in UK
creativity.
It obtains 42 million monthly views.
The company’s 2013 strategic report states that it plans to continue
to invest in content and promoting it’s channels, whilst looking to
expand its channels beyond the linear environment.

Aardman
Aardman is an animation company focusing
mainly on Stop motion animation they where
formed in 1986 with there first major work being
the Peter Gabriel Video to Sledgehammer.
