The Indian lungwort (Justicia adhatoda), also known as the Adhatoda plant, Malabar nut or Vasica, is a plant species belonging to the acanthus family (Acanthaceae). Its original home is the Himalayan region of northern India. It can help to remove excess mucus more quickly and thus make breathing easier. Extracts from Adhatoda leaves are therefore often used for colds, bronchitis, asthma and sinusitis.
