3. We are going to take on the Matilda theme massively-
we agree that there should be a few of the main
characters (Miss Trunchball, Matilda and Miss Honey)
We believe that with the Matilda theme our
production values will get higher.
4. SET / STAGING
In the main school hall

Giant chocolate cake either side of the stage

6. HAIR AND MAKE-UP
All girls with bows in their hair (like Matilda’s)
Some French plaits, pig tails and some just straight hair
Each year has a different coloured bow e.g. Red= Year 7,
Yellow= Year 8 etc…
Boys with hair geld to the side
Girls make-up- simple, foundation, lip gloss (natural
colours), mascara. Maybe a bit of glitter on the sides of
their face for the effect of summer.
7. COSTUME
Boys in white shirts, grey shorts and knee length socks.
Bow ties, again different coloured for every year group to
match the girls. E.g. Red= Year 7, Yellow= Year 8
Girls in shirts and grey pinafore dresses or grey pleated
skirts.
Some people with round glasses
8. LIGHTING
At the start all light blue lighting
Each song has a different colour. E.g. Art= Pink, Maths=
Orange etc.
9. SOUND
Same voice over as we had in Billy and the beginning but
with Matilda speaking.
Band playing the backing tracks of the songs.
Microphones only for main singers or characters (Miss
Trunchball, Matilda and Miss Honey).
10. PROFESSIONAL VALUES:
Deadlines- considering the deadline isn't long away we
have thought that most of our ideas can be made or
ordered easily with little cost.
Some things are more tricky such as the swing but with
everything else being simple we can focus on bigger
things.
We understand that there is health and safety issues
which going forward with our plans we will fill out a Risk
Assessment form.
Working as a team- in our team everyone has different
skills in different areas which we found out through Billy
Elliot. This means that we should work well as a team
and cover all these aspects easily.
11. VOCATIONAL VALUES:
Like said in the earlier slide- by putting the Matilda
theme in and displaying that well, we should exceed
peoples expectations with this years summer concert!
Given that we have a wide range of people come and
view our performances we think that including a Major
West End show Matilda is the best way to go, while still
incorporating school life as after all we are a school.
Given that obviously this is not our Major Production the
budget will be a lot smaller, as a result of this we have
chosen many of our ides to be low prices or even make
here.
