3. DEFINITION- INNOVATION
Innovation is anything that creates new resources , processes ,
or values , or improves a company’s existing resources ,
processes , or values .” - Christiansen et al.
A dynamic, systematic process that envisions new approaches
to nursing education.
Innovation refers to developing and adopting new approaches,
technologies, products and ways of functioning.
In nursing, it means finding new information and better ways
of promoting health, preventing disease and better patient care.

17. RESEARCH FINDINGS
A Study was conducted by Coyle A in Boston on
innovation adoption behavior among nurses.
The study examined extent of adoption by clinical nurses
of 14 research based nursing practices and explored
characteristics of nurses which may have influenced their
use of innovations.
Result showed that nurse adoption on innovative practices
and their perception of organizational support in the form
of hospital policy is considered as good.
