1. Helen Keller 1880-1968

Helen Adams Keller was born in Tuscumbia,
Alabama. At the age of 2 she became ill
with Brain Fever. This sickness caused her
to become deaf, blind and mute. After that
they decided to get Helen a teacher. After
searching they found one her name was
Anne Sullivan. In 6 months she learned six
hundred twenty five words. After years of
working with Anne she went to Radcliffe
College. When she got out of college she
became the first blind person to write a
book. After writing her first book she wrote
many more and then went and made a
movie. She became known for encouraging
the blind. On June 1st she died of natural
causes in her sleep.
