Explication of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost Essay
Explication of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
When reading "The Road Not Taken," by Robert Frost, I found that it was personal, especially to the
author. The fact that it was written in first person form helped me to conclude that it was probably
about the author. I think the reasoning behind his writing of this poem was because in life, you have
many obstacles to overcome and many choices and decisions to make, which opens a path that leads
the way to your future. Since those things relate to Frost, I think it motivated him to write this poem
on a personal basis, like a short autobiography on his life. It motivated him because he could then
tell others about his life and give advice and guidance to the people that read his ... Show more

The thing that always holds true though, is that the major issues people's lives are always ironically
similar to each other or, at least can relate to them in many ways. Therefore, I found that this poem
not only symbolizes or relates to the author, but it also symbolizes or holds true to almost
everybody's lives.
One of the major symbols within this poem is the roads. When he says "Two roads diverged in a
yellow wood," he is using the roads to symbolize the paths, choices, and decisions that he has to
make in his life. Those decisions guide the way to his future, because when you come to a two way
street or road you have to decide or make a choice on which path to take. Also when he says "And
sorry I could not travel both And be on traveler," he is telling us how he is insecure on which road to
take because he is unsure of what's ahead and would like to travel both roads to come up with a
conclusion or a decision on the correct road to take. So overall, what road basically symbolizes in
this poem is the options that he has in his life and the decisions that he has to make.
Another symbol in this poem is the many observations that he makes. When he says "long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth," he is using his
observations to symbolize the brainstorming, analyzing, and thinking you have to do before or ahead
of time when you are offered two options in your life and only one path to take.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower Compare and Contrast Essay
The Perks of being a Wallflower Compare and Contrast The book and the movie for The Perks of
Being a Wallflower are extremely different, and I believe that the movie is much better than the
book. The book is written much differently than the movie. There are lots of scenes that are in the
book but not in the movie and that are in the movie not the book. The movie focuses less on the
bigger, depressing topics than the book does. The characters in the movie are also much different
than they are in the book. Their personalities are very different in the movie than the author
described them as in the book. The movie, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, is directed very
differently than how the book is written. The book is written in ... Show more content on

In the movie, the only time you see Charlie crying is at the end, when he blacks out and attempts to
commit suicide. There are many scenes and details that were in the book, but were left out of the
movie, one thing that differentiates the movie from the book, is the change in character's
personalities and the relationships between the characters. In the book, Candace and Charlie seem
like they don't get along extremely well. Like any brother and sister, they fight quite a lot and they
get in many arguments. But Candace seems like she is much meaner to him in the book than she is
to him in the movie. In the movie Candace is much nicer to Charlie, and just nicer in general.
Patrick is quite similar in the movie to how he was in the book, except for his personality. In the
book, Patrick seems less carefree and funny. It seems like he is a jokester, but he can also be very
serious at times. While in the movie he can't be taken seriously and he always is trying to lighten the
mood. Even when he and Brad were going through a rough spot in their relationship, he was still
messing around and cracking jokes. Charlie was the character that is the most different in the book
and in the movie. In the book, Charlie is portrayed as weak, nerdy and extremely awkward. But in
the movie he is a tougher character and he seems a lot less quiet and shy. One way the movie shows
that Charlie is not very weak is how he only cries once at the end. While in the book he cries all

A Short Story : A Story?
As a kid, Davey never understood why he always got in trouble for the words scrawled in beautiful
cursive on his wrist. Shit, sorry! After a teacher would scold him for the words that were written, he
remembered his mother having to visit the school and explain. Explain what? He wasn't quite sure.
His older sister Sarah told him that the words written on his skin were the first words his soulmate
would say to him. But he never knew why it was so bad if it was what his soulmate said. When
highschool came around, Davey was beyond frustrated with the words written on him. He could've
gotten anything else, but now whenever someone discovers the writing they burst into laughter.
Over the years, he learned to instinctively hide his wrist from people whenever they passed by. "It's
so annoying, Sarah!" Davey groaned, leaning back in his bed while his sister stifled her laughter.
"Yeah it's," She paused, giggling. "It's not fun, is it?" Sarah hadn't met her soulmate yet either, but at
least the words on her wrist weren't something she had to hide. Oh, you're Davey's older sister? "Of
all the things they could've said, they had to swear?!" Sarah shrugged. "It all depends on how you
meet. For all you know, their swearing could be perfectly justifiable." Davey stopped, thinking for a
moment. "I wonder what's written on them..." "Probably you being a total dweeb." "Sarah!" Sarah
burst out in laughter, covering her mouth with her hand. Two weeks had passed, and

Argumentative Essay On The Yellow Wallpaper
The Yellow Wallpaper
The author is trying to make the reader understand several continuous nervous breakdowns. Gilman
wrote the story in a way that would capture the readers attention. She did not write in a boring
manner, and she used the disease itself to make up the story into
something anyone would read. Even as old as this story is, Gilman herself suffered from the same
thing as the woman in the story. The womans' doctor also applied the "rest cure". He told her to
"never touch pen, brush, or pencil again" (Gilman 9) as long as she lived. It was happening in 1887.
She obeyed those rules for three months and then went back to work. "Being naturally moved to
rejoicing by this narrow escape, I wrote THE YELLOW WALLPAPER" (Gilman 9). A copy of The
Yellow Wallpaper was sent to her physician who has nearly driven her mad. He never acknowledged
it. The story was not written to drive people crazy but to save people from being driven crazy, and it
actually ended up working.
The newly wedded couple in the story move into a colonial mansion for the summer. John her
husband, is a physician, he knew his wife was ill of
nervious breakdowns. The cure that he knows to work is the rest cure. He basically makes all of the
decisions for his wife as in what she will be able to do. Even to the extent of
picking which room they will sleep in, even thogh she

Writing Skills And School Habits
For me, writing has always been a challenge. I always felt like that I could not express myself with
the words I had been taught or that somehow I had been left out on the instructions on how to
properly write. It's always frustrated me that writing has been a challenge, and that may be why I
enjoy reading so much because other people seem to have a way with words that I don't. I love
reading other people's words a lot more than my own so much so that I tried avoiding writing as
much as possible. Of course, school involves a lot of writing so it was not like I could permanently
avoid it as much as I wish I could. So when my teacher announced that our class would be writing
plays individually and turning them in to a theatre company, I was not at all excited. I was more like
terrified about someone reading some trashy play I wrote. This moment in my life, however,
changed my writing skills and school habits quite unexpectedly. The experience of writing my own
play and having it performed was significant to me because it taught me about procrastination, hard
work, and originality. 5th grade was like any other school year except that there were a lot more
expectations and responsibilities to go along with it than the previous years, and Mrs. Schillinger
definitely expected a lot from us, at least what I thought was a lot.
"Class, today, I would like to announce a new writing assignment!" she exclaimed with a shining
smile that it blinded the first row of kids. Moans

Purpose
Why were the essays written?
What was hoped readers gain?
The essay was written to show how ordinary people have become because they rather go to the same
destination that has become more of a second home than elsewhere. The customers rather be
satisfied with convenience than with health. The essay was written to inform the reader why
American Idol gets so much attention. It was written to show the beginning of future "heroes" and to

However, it is all just an image the public either ignores or is oblivion to. By saying "home away
from home" it shows how the public has become so dependent even in times at home with the
family. There are commercials on TV or phones that only anticipate the next visit. The author shows
how these chains have "love for children" and provides a safe and "clean" environment. The whole
essay is written an in informal manner to apply to a younger audience. A young audience that craves
attention overall and does not worry much about the economic or political aspect that usually ties
with the word "revolution." He also went back and forth to first, second and third person throughout
this essay. It adds to the purpose because he is connecting in a personal level while also painting a
bigger picture. The authors do an excellent job in showing how vampires are much like the human.
They adapt as the human evolves through the scientific evolution. "The vampire is as flexible and
polyvalent as ever" It shows how the vampire arose from imagination yet without it, it would be
difficult to remind oneself that there are other things in the world unexplainable and unknown to the

The Necklace Short Story
"The necklace" was written in French and published in a French newspaper in 1884. Maupassant
wrote the short story about a young married women, who is a fantasist, certain that she should be
living a complete different lifestyle. Regardless of the period it was written, portrays Matilde as
being a jealous egotist who lives her life through self–delusion and self–pity which are all timeless
and universal themes. The presentation of women is very particular, if you weren't a rich women you
wouldn't be important in society and would often be unnoticed rather like Mathilde's servant.
Maupassant begins the story ironically describing Matilde "apparently by some error of fate"
causing her to believe that she is a victim of God, this gives the ... Show more content on

Madame Frostier (Mathilde's friend) allows Mathilde to "choose whatever" she likes of her jewelry.
Madame frostier is shown to be kind and generous, contrasting with Mathilde's personality of
selfishness. Mathilde "tried the necklace on in the mirror" because she enjoys looking at herself.
This illustrates Mathilde as a narcissist. Dramatic irony is used in the way Madame Forestier offers
Mathilde her necklace to enhance her image, later realizing it cost her all her looks and everything
she has to replace it. Soon realizing the necklace was a cheap copy so all the money was wasted this
symbolizes Mathilde as a person.
Mathilde takes her "treasure with her" listing is used to describe how Mathilde's dream has finally
come true. Maupassant applies repetition of "all" to show the attention is focused on Mathilde. The
night approaches an end and imagery is enforced to show that the reality is about to return to
Mathilde. "Rich furs" are contrasted with "everyday coats" and "shivering with cold" this highlights
the real world as bitter and harsh. As soon as she returns home it is "all over for Mathilde" almost
like her life had ended. Once again she stands "in front of the mirror" implying that she can't help
but to admire herself.
There is then a sudden change in mood "I...I...Madame Frostier's necklace... I haven't got it!" she
loses herself in desperate panic. Despite this she does nothing about

Flannery O'Connor's Short Story "A Good Man is Hard to Find"
Flannery O'Connor's personal views on the justification of religion and the resulting world or
corruption and depravity are apparent in her short story "A Good Man is Hard to Find". She
analyzes the basic plight of human existence and its conflict with religious conviction. The first
two–thirds of the narrative set the stage for the grandmother, representing traditional Christian
beliefs, to collide with The Misfit, representing modern scientific beliefs. The core of symbolism
and the magnet for interpretation is at the end, the conversation between the grandmother and The
Misfit. The conversation represents the examination of the clash between animal and metaphysical
human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is the central dilemma of human consciousness. We are mindful of ourselves but we are also
basically animals with violent tendencies and primitive drives. Everyday, these two selves collide.
The understanding or awareness of each person demands that we rise above our primeval instincts,
and with this demand comes a need for meaning, a purpose beyond the material restrictions of our
bodies and the world we see around us. Otherwise all that is left, as The Misfit comments, "'...it's
nothing for you to do but enjoy the few minutes you got left the best way you can––by killing
somebody or burning down his house or doing some other meanness to him. No pleasure but
meanness,' he said and his voice had become almost a snarl."
Yet, any belief beyond what we see and what we can touch or hear or smell or feel is just that, a
belief. Consequently, any religious or spiritual or anti–religious and anti–spiritual ideology one
wishes to take is a leap of blind faith. Eventually, as The Misfit perceives and in due course the
grandmother perceives, the world of religious dogma and sacred creed are no match for the
systematic observation based and amoral context of the modern world. Thus, we are left with no
answer as to the existence of a Supreme Being and with no means to answer that question.
Accordingly his frustration is not with Jesus and whether or not He

Imperialism In Hawaii Speech
According to the information present in the speech given by a man named, Sanford J Dole, the
Americans imperializing Hawai'i was a constructive motion. This is due to the fact that throughout
the speech, Dole informs his audience on the benefits both the Hawaiians and Hawai'i would gain
through Hawai'i being a territory of the United States(US). The speech was given on June 10th,
1900, at Iolani Palace, after Dole was elected to be the governor of the Territory of Hawai'i. As the
speech is an original document, it is a primary source. Based on the information provided in the
speech, the message Dole is trying to convey is that the day Hawai'i became a territory of the US, is
one of the most important days in Hawaiian history. This is because ... Show more content on

This primary source assists in answering the question, "Was imperialism constructive or
deconstructive," as it gives numerous examples of how the US imperialising Hawai'i was
constructive. The examples included the ways the Hawaiians and Hawai'i benefited from being a
territory of the US. Since the speech gives a clear western perspective on the US imperialising
Hawai'i and clearly shows the audience whether imperialism was constructive or destructive for a
western perspective, it is valuable. Therefore, the examples and the clear perspective provided
assists in answering the overall question of whether imperialism was constructive or destructive.
Regardless of the valuable information sources possess, they all also have limitations. The first
limitation of the source is that the speech doesn't show both sides of imperialism. This is because the
speech only demonstrates how imperialism was constructive, and doesn't state anything about how it
may have been destructive. Another limitation is that the speech was written from a western
perspective, therefore it was written from the perspective of the people from the country that was

Analysis of World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War
I chose to read World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War. I was looking forward to reading
this book because I enjoy science fiction book because it's more interesting then books that are just
normal books. One thing I liked about this was the plot. I enjoy that it was written to show how
humans would behave if this was actually to happen. I have mixed opinions about how we as a
country would deal with this just because do we fight? Hold up in a secure building? Or do we start
doing experiments on the infected people? I'm not sure what we as American would chose to do?
Would we stay fare or become brutal in the conditions we were put in. in this book we are hearing
and living the stories about how people are trying to understand and not be afraid of this disease. As
we have learned from TV shows and movies if this happens then there doesn't always have a
government. Its people on their own or small groups of people doing what they have too in order to
survive. In this book it's written like news clippings which can be hard to understand but is also
written to seem more real. This book starts out with a doctor receiving a call from a
Parks 2 small village needing medical care. He shows up and sees a few patients in an old hut tied
down with a door that locks from the outside. At first he doesn't understand because no one was
taking care of them, as he is examining them he notices a bite mark that isn't from an animal. The
bite isn't infected but they have fevers and

A Homemade Education By Malcom X
The Drive Successful people become motivated by something, that keeps them going when things
get tough. Malcom X wanted to improve his writing, Lupe Quintanilla wanted to learn English, and
I am motivated to receive a higher education. Drive, that is what all of these individuals have in
common. Something in our lives lead us down the path to better our education it was a tough road
but being motivated kept us going. In Malcom X's short story, A Homemade Education, it talks
about how Malcom was in prison and how he wanted to better his vocabulary and writing so he
could effectively write letters to people. One of the quotes he writes about his frustration trying to
explain what he means in his writings. "I became increasingly frustrated at not being able to express
what I wanted to convey in letters that I wrote, especially those to Mr. Elijah Muhammad. In the
street, I had been the most articulate hustler out there – I had commanded attention when I said
something. But now, trying to write simple English, I not only wasn't articulate, I wasn't even
functional" (Malcom 437). When I decided to go back to school, I struggled with learning Algebra
and I felt like I wasn't even functional. Much like Malcom, I began trying to understand Algebra by
thinking about what the problems were and trying to work through the problems. He explained how
he practiced writing repetitively from the dictionary to learn and how he would wake up and would
think about what he had learned.

Society and Technology in "The Anthem" Essay
Now–a–days, when we think of the future, we picture flying cars, and being able to transport. In the
novel "The Anthem" society and technology as we know it had been driven to an entirely new
direction. The characters in the society do not have the right to speak freely nor do anything that
they wish. They lost all of their freedom, they couldn't even think for themselves. The society had to
think as a whole, the word "I" did not exist in their vocabulary. The society is very balanced, and
everyone fears the thought of even questioning it. Up until one man known as Equality 7–25271
wants the answers to all of his questions. The novel is expressed as Equality 7–2521's diary. All of
his thoughts and feelings are shown in his writing, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the many benefits of having the novel written in a diary format, is that you get to really
understand what the character feels about his surroundings. Most of the other people in the society
don't notice their setting nor do they have knowledge of anything else. Equality 7–2521 describes
his surroundings as being small and dark, all the buildings which are plain mark the housing of
several different people. All the citizens of this society are over–worked and tired yet they have no
intention of complaining because they fear the punishment. This novel would not be the same if it
was written in any other form other then a diary, as well as if the novel was written in first person. It
would not have to same effect on the readers. There are so many diaries, but all are written in the
first person, so "The Anthem" is unique. We get a better understanding when Equality 7–2521 writes
in third person, without it, we would only hear his thoughts and observations instead of the ones he
has gathered from others. To illustrate, when he first meets Liberty 5–3000, the readers were able to
pick up some signs that she shows, these prove that she was a bit interested in him. But Equality 7–
2521 in the other hand found himself very attracted to her, and as if to not make any obvious
communication, he decides to admire her from afar and she does the same to him. Equality later

Criticism And Mccarthyism In Arthur Miller's The Crucible
Arthur Miller's The Crucible is an instance that proves subliminally what is wrong with society and
mankind in overall perspective the book gives a feeling of relation to what happens now. Arthur
Miller in a sense tried to put forth a message through this book beginning with McCarthyism, which
was happening around the time it was written, but relating to the present it definitely sends a
message even if it was written in the past. Miller does just what is needed to explain human nature
and our behavior.
The first thing that you could say Miller expresses them to do is the act of only having a certain way
do to do things and what is right and wrong that is explained through this explained through this
quote
You must understand, sir, that a person is either with this court or he must be counted against it,
there be no road between. This is a sharp time, now, a precise time–we live no longer in the dusky
afternoon when evil mixed itself with good and befuddled the world. Now, by God's grace, the
shining sun is up, and them that fear not light will surely praise it. (Miller 87)
This explains what we have wrong in society today and how it relates is that people who are
discriminated are for the same reason that they don't do things as the rest. Differences cause our
violence and isolation. We have distinctions that are the "road between" as the quote says and now
in a so–called advanced society we still have these negative thoughts about their only being a single
right way to do things. We see this in the way people see other people who are differently oriented.
They take homosexuality as unacceptable because to people there is only one way to be with
someone and that is to the opposite sex. Although, back then it did happen that there was only one
way and no road in between the present gives people that opportunity to choose an alternate, with
that, there are still prejudices against the LGBTQ community as there was when people started to do
things differently in Salem. Through this book the main plot is conflict. In our nature and as part of
the Human Condition conflict is inevitable. Miller put the message across by using a historical event
that was a dispute and which led to deaths. The book does not let the

The Paradox Commandments Analysis
A poem is often defined as an art form used to express yourself, which evokes emotion in its reader.
However, there are poems with another purpose besides making the audience feel something. Some
poems are used to educate, inspire, or give advice to it's readers. Two poems that offer excellent
advice about how to live life happily and successfully are "If" by Rudyard Kipling and "The
Paradoxical Commandments" by Dr. Kent M. Keith. Rudyard Kipling, the author of "If" and Dr.
Kent M. Keith, the author of "The Paradoxical Commandments" give both similar and different
advice, but this advice is directed at two different audiences because of the way it is presented in the
poems.
The largest difference between these poems is the demographic they are written for. "If" is
undeniably male–dominant in comparison to "The Paradoxical Commandments" which has advice
directed at anyone who chooses to read it. The first indication that "If" has advice specifically given
to males is in line three when Kipling says, "If you can trust yourself when men doubt you," This
line could have easily been adjusted to "... when people doubt you," to allow all readers to relate to
it. The second time Kipling makes it obvious his words are for male–readers only is the second line
of the final stanza "Or walk with Kings ––– nor lose the common touch." Kings are clearly
masculine, and as powerful as a person can get in Kipling's eyes. The final line of the poem "And
––– which is more ––– you'll be a man, my

The Characteristics Of Christopher Columbus
Write your first paragraph here:
In document A, it was made by Jean Marzollo. It's also written as a poem. It was written in 1948.
The poem was about when Christopher Columbus went traveling to different islands through the day
and night and he met lots of kind people in an island. He had to bring treasure for his people too.
The purpose was to prove people that he was a very good, brave, and a bright man for traveling and
finding treasure for his people. The point of view in this poem or document is that Christopher was a
brave and a kind man. This point of view is different from the others because this shows that it's a
peaceful and it has a few nice things about Christopher Columbus. The best difference is between
this source and source C. In source three it shows negative and violent things for what Christopher
Columbus did.
Write your second paragraph here:
Document B is made by Christopher Columbus. It was a letter to the king and queen named King
Ferdinand and Queen Isabella. This source was written in 1493. This letter by Christopher
Columbus was about when Christopher found an island and named it Hispana. Hispana had various
of things. For example, golds, different kinds of species, and metals. He brought them with him to

people even when it wasn't appropriate time to have a smile on her face like if somebody had died in
a really tragic way, she would still have a smile on her face as if she didn't feel anything. When
people would ask her why she was smiling at such a horrid thing she would only reply "Because I
think this world is so wonderful, even with the bad things that happen. That's why I am smiling. We
only had one chance to be here and their time was up, so why would you hurt yourself over their

An Hour Response
In "Story of an Hour", written by Kate Chopin, there were quite a few unexpected events. Initially, I
expected the story to be longer than two pages. I also thought that the story's name could have been
different. For example, the story instantly starts off by talking about Mrs. Mallard's heart problem,
and that fact is repeated throughout the story. Why not title it something like "Matters of the Heart"?
But, after reading the story I realized that time is an important aspect of the story– all the events in
the story happen within the hour, and Mrs. Mallard mentions time on multiple occasions– "She
breathed a quick prayer that life might be long. It was only yesterday she had thought with a shudder
that life might be long" (Page 279). In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that the first theme this story shows is that life can change in an instant. This shows
multiple times throughout the story, such as when it was believed that Mr. Mallard died "With
Brently Mallard leading under the list of "killed" " (Page 278) or when Mrs. Mallard did actually die
"When the doctors came they said she had died of heart disease– of joy that kills" (Page 280). This
leads me to my second theme, which is to not take things for granted. Mrs. Mallard might not have
loved her husband the way he had loved her, but she expected to see him come home that day. The
same could be said when Mrs. Mallard was comprehending her newfound freedom– she had hoped
for (and expected to) live a life after her husband had "died"– "Spring days, and summer days, and
all sorts of days that would be her own" (Page 279). On a lighter note, the third theme I believed
was in this story was to not jump to conclusions unless you see it for yourself. Mrs. Mallard
believed that her husband had died because her husband's name was in the newspaper on the list of
those killed in a rail accident. Obviously, the mistake was not intentional, but it had severe results. I
also believe that this story's message was mainly a bash on society as a whole. This story reflects
how society treated women in the 1800s– which was not good. Back then, women were treated
horribly and granted, things are not perfect now, but

The poem Carrickfergus was written by an Irish writer...
The poem Carrickfergus was written by an Irish writer called Louis
MacNeice in The 20th Century.
The poem "Carrickfergus" was written by an Irish writer called Louis
MacNeice in The 20th Century. It was written in four line stanzas and now I am going to analyse
this poem and talk about each stanza.
In the first line of the first stanza, we notice that the child Louis
MacNeice is using specific detail in his poem as he says he was born in Belfast between the
mountain and the gantries. MacNeice was brought up among a lot of divisions and when there was a
lot of trouble going on, he mentions divisions in his second stanza when he says, "The
Scotch Quarter was a line of residential houses, but the Irish Quarter was a slum for ... Show more

In the next stanza MacNeice says that the church is to the blame for all the wrongs going on, I
assume he says this because he doesn't like the church but I believe he genuinely doesn't think the
church is too blame. All throughout this poem, MacNeice mentions the
Normans various times; I think that he is emphasizing his knowledge of
Irish history. MacNeice also tells us that his father was a rector and he was banned forever from the
candles of the Irish poor; again he is showing divisions by saying the Irish are poor. In this same
stanza he talks about the Chichesters who are a rich Irish family.
The war then starts and Louis uses sensory images; sight and sound.
The sight images he uses are the horse with long Dummies hanging from gibbets for bayonet
practice, and the sound images he uses is sentry's challenge echoing all day long. These images
make the poem more realistic. He then goes on and states that a Yorkshire terrier ran to the gate
lodge, marched at ease and sang, "Who killed Cock Robin"? The troops then went out to the lodge
and off to the front, the information he is giving us here isn't too significant but it does give us an
account off some troops at

Heaton manor letter
After reading the letter from Heaton manor I realised that this letter was written formally. This is
because the way the writer has written it is professional. The letter was drafted to the student 's
parents about a trip. They used the words 'Dear' at the beginning and 'Yours Faithfully' at the end of
the page, which is only used if you are writing to a person that you do not know.
However, they wrote the letter to 'Parents and Careers' so that it is generalised to whoever is taking
care of the child. This is because it is harder to write a letter to each parent. Also, 'Career' is used so
that nobody is offended.
Although, it would have been exceeding if they wrote to each parent, this would make the parents
know that they have taken their time to write to each parent so their child could go to the trip. Also,
they have added the date. This material is added to show when the letter was written.
The address isn 't added. Previously stated, this is because it would have taken the Head of ICT
longer, especially as they might not know the addresses of each student. Also, most of the logos are
either combined at the top or at the bottom of the page. This is used to show which company or
school this is from. In this letter, the colour blue is mostly used, for example, the logo. The

Reflection On The Book Feed
The first line from the book Feed by the author M.T. Anderson says "We went to the moon to have
fun, but it turned out to completely suck." This being the first sentence that I had read from the
book, I already had formed some opinions of the book. One of the first impressions that I had gotten
from the book Feed, was that I really wasn't in favor of the book. I thought that the book was that it
was really odd, and that it could be very harsh at times. However after actually starting to read the
book and getting further in it, my opinion on that slowly started to change throughout the book.
The novel Feed is extremely satiric and is under the Science Fiction genre written by as stated
before M.T. Anderson. Feed takes place in the near future, maybe about fifty to a hundred years
from when it was written. Also it represents Anderson's thought on how future America and
Americans will be. You can tell this by the actions, thoughts, and carelessness of almost all the
characters throughout the book. Titus and his group of friends Calista, Link, Loga, Marty, and
Quendy, are the first introduced in Feed. In a sense they are all similar, this being because they are
all senseless, careless, unintelligent, and make poor choices. This group of teenagers take a trip to
the moon, where Titus meets this girl named Violet who almost completely the opposite of him and
his friends which catches his eye and he is immediately attracted to her. Violet appears to be one of

Theme Of Between The World And Me
Between the World and Me by Ta–Nehisi Coates is an incredibly thought provoking book. Coates
uses several different themes, structure, and the viewponts of his characters to portray a specific
message and to teach the reader specifically about racial injustecise that occur in our country. This
book is truly eye–opening and emotional. Through reading it, I have not only started to contemplate
my own expereinces with race but I have also started to ruminate what is happening on a global
level when it comes to minority groups.
The two most predominant themes in Between the World and Me are fatherhood and race. This book
is written very similarly to a letter from Ta–Nehisi Coates to his son Samori. It lays out everything
that comes along with being a black person in the United States by sharing examples from
throughout Coates's life. Coates hopes to teach his son that African Americans have been unable to
overcome the oppression that they face in order to accomplish great things. By having the theme of
fatherhood present in this book, it has added so much more emotion to the story and therefore has
allowed me to connect so much more with the text. In addition to fatherhood, the theme of race he is
also incredibly prevalent. The entire book is centered around the idea that black people have to live
their lives in a certain way simply because of the color of their skin. Through reading this book, I'm
finally able to understand the inequality that so many Americans have to face on

The Open Window In Kate Chopin's Short Story Of An Hour
To begin with, Kate Chopin uses symbolism in a way that gives the readers multiple ways to
interpret. The symbol of the open window could be interpreted many ways but I took this as a
symbol of her newly found independence. She had just found out that her husband had died in the
railroad disaster; after the news was given to her from her sister and husbands' friend she found
herself up in her room facing the open window. While in her room sitting by this open window she
starts feel something new. Chopin illustrates that Mrs. Mallard was feeling something new by noting
that "she felt it, creeping out of the sky, reaching toward her through the sounds, the scents, the color
that filled the air" (39). By sitting near the open window, she starts ... Show more content on

Chopin uses the point of view of third person omniscient because Mrs. Mallard does not know
everything the reader does at first. One example would be in the beginning when she does not know
her husband is dead and only Josephine and Richard knows of that news. Another example would be
that the story continues after Mrs. Mallard had died from the heart disease. The point of view is
important because if it was written in any other form than the we, the readers would not have known
what Mrs. Mallard was feeling after she got the news or what the doctors had to say after she had
died. If we say that the story was written in Josephine point of view, we would have thought that
Mrs. Mallard was in her room drinking or making herself ill; "Louise, open the door! I beg; open the
door–you will make yourself ill." (40). Or if it was Mr. Mallards point of view we, the readers
would not have known that any of this had happened because he did not that the accident had
happened; "He had been far from the scene of accident, and did not even know there had been one"
(41). Chopin had written in this point of view so the readers could be involved in all of the

Literary Analysis Of Robert Frost's Nothing Gold Can Stay
This poem was written by Robert Frost. It was written in America, in english. It was written when
people thought the world was going to end, around the 1920's.
The poem could be confessional, but it could also be a narrative. It tells a story of leaves and flowers
dying, and about children growing up, but the reason he wrote the poem is to tell the story of the
world ending. The poem also talks about Robert's political views, in a way. He's saying that he does
believe the world is going to end.
The title of the poem is Nothing Gold Can Stay. It conveys multiple meanings. Such as Spring, or
children growing up, or the world is going to end.
There is no repeating words in the poem, however Robert Frost does use an AA BB AA BB pattern
for his rhymes.
In the poem, a few months pass. It talks about the birth of spring and the ending of it. But if you
look at it from the children growing up perspective, then around 18 years pass. However if you look
at Nothing Gold Can Stay as a poem about the end of the world, than 9,500 years passes. He says
"So Eden sank to grief" in the Bible the Garden of Eden was created in the beginning, and man was
kicked out, so Eden sank to grief. Now, the world is ending and 9,500 years have passed, assuming
he believes in a young Earth.
There are no human characters in the poem, there are only leaves, flowers, and the Earth. Eden and
Nature are also characters.
Robert Frost doesn't leave out any details. He only uses his words in a way to convey

AMULET Once upon a time there lived a family who was returning from a ceremony on a curvy

road. The car flipped and drove off the mountain, as the family screamed.
"Emily get out" said Emily's father David. "Now you go out Karen" said David. "David Come" said
Emily's mother Karen . "i can't come. My leg is stuck in the dashboard. I can't move". "David give
me your hand". David gave his hand to Karen but he is not moving. The car was dripping into the
valley. "Karen, take care of Emily and Navin. Leave my hand, let go" said David. "David noah" said
Karen. David pushed Karen and the car tripped in the valley and blasted.
After three years, the family moved to a house which was in the middle of the forest. When they
opened the house. The house belongs to Emily's grandfather. When they opened the door the house
was very dusty. They started cleaning the house. While they were cleaning the house, Emily went to
her grandfather's study room. There she saw a book which was written '360 words' on it. Beneath
that it was written 'Silas secrets'. Emily just touched the word 'Silas', a very big light came and an
amulet appeared. Emily wore the Amulet and did not say to her mother because if she knows she

Essay on Alabama Moon by Watt Key
Soapstone: Alabama Moon
Characters:
In the novel Alabama Moon a boy named Moon is the main character. Moon is very independent
because throughout the story he does a lot of things on his own including living alone. On page 3 I
found out that he was ten years old because it said "I was ten years old and he'd taught me
everything I needed to know about living out in the forest." So this showed me that he knew how to
live in his own out in the forest and that he was ten years old which was pretty young to be living on
his own out in the forest. At first when Moon was scared and lonely without his dad he was
aggressive with the other characters. On page 27 Moon really showed his anger toward

I like living in the forest. I don't know where else I'd live, but I don't wanna be by myself. We were
always by ourselves. We didn't ever see anybody except Mr.Abroscotto." This quote shows how
Moon is developing through the story. That is how the main character is developed through the story
and how the main character interacts with the other characters.
Ideas:
The main idea through the beginning of the story is Moon trying to survive in the forest by himself
and trying to fight off everyone. Then over time Moon realizes that he doesn't want to live in the
forest anymore and fight against anyone anymore. The conflict in the story happens a lot in the
beginning of the story because Moon is trying to stay hidden but then towards the end of the story
he doesn't want to be alone for the rest of his life and fight off everyone that tries to take him away
or help him. On page 3 he said "Pap said he even figured I could whip somebody three times my
size. He wasn't worried about me." So that quote shows that he was thinking that he could just beat
up anyone that tried to take him away from the forest or anything else. But later in the story when he
found out that he couldn't just do that and get away with it he stopped doing it. On page 239 Moon
was talking to a policeman and the policeman said, "You're not gonna bit me or nothin', are you?
Nossir. I'm not aimin' to try and whip up on anybody anymore. I don't aim to bust out of anywhere,
either."

Everyman-a Medieval Play Review
A Review of "The Summoning of Everyman"
Summary
Everyman is a play which was written to express the importance of morality, to whoever read it or
experienced it being performed on stage. Some scholars say that it was written sometime in the late
1400's, while others insist that it is a translation of a Flemish work called "Elckerlijc", which was
written by Peter van Diest in 1495. Everyman is an allegory play which is heavily based upon
Christian religious perspectives; also it is resoundingly similar to the Christian belief of the
resurrection of Christ, and his ascension into Heaven, after the crucifixion.
The first act of Everyman, opens with a prologue which takes on the form of a ... Show more

This play has received a moderate amount of popularity over the past near 500 years; and now today
there are some scholars and researchers whom are exceptionally critical, both positively and
negatively, of the details as to how it was written.
One criticism of note would have to be one which was voiced by Thomas F van Laan. In referring to
the general premise of Everyman, he contends of the writer that "His speech is essentially negative;
he focuses solely on the inevitability of death and the destructiveness of sin". Simply put, Mr. van
Laan is stating that at first, the sole purpose of this work appears to emphasize specifically on death
and how mankind should feel only sorrow for anything that they do, which goes against the
teachings of Christianity.
Another criticism of this work which Mr. van Laan refers to is the point in the beginning when God
first speaks. Mr. Van Laan states: "Gods words are wholly negative in force, implying only the
difficulty to come, omitting any indication of hope for mankind". Mr. van Laan is voicing this
criticism on the opening section of the play, fundamentally about how he considers Gods words to
be too negative in their approach. In expressing this condemnation, Mr. van Laan is adamant about
his beliefs that God would probably not be so disconcerting in his approach to dealing with
mankind.
However not all that Mr. van

The history of the right to bear arms, this has been an American tradition since colonist set foot on

our military to have guns? I believe in the constitution we have the right to bear arms. It was written

our military having them I'm talking about citizens not being able to have guns.

Should guns be illegal? Will that solve all the shootings or even reduce them? Doubtful, it may
actually increase the shootings and robberies. Gun is what keep most people in their home safe and
feel safe. If you took guns away from the people who actually use them correctly you would just be
making it easier for the ones who use them illegally. I do believe we need better control on the
illegal guns, as it seems they're too easy to get now. We should be focusing on how to stop illegal
guns coming here rather than focusing on taking them away from the people who acquire them
legally.
We have the right to bear arms this is our American tradition and should stay as it's written in the
constitution. A gun is powerless until someone gets behind it and uses it in the wrong manner. The
people who are using it "legally" use it for safety only and not to harm someone unless they're
threatening their family. The media plays a big part in how guns are displayed and only show the
negative parts to guns. There should be better education on guns but the point shouldn't be to scare
people away from them. Better education and more control on the illegal guns and you wouldn't see
as many shootings as there are today. American citizens have the right to keep their guns and its an

'Fuck you' on the wall of an elementary school. So much so that Holden says it was most likely
written by perverty bum who walked onto the school grounds and wrote it just for the hell of it. Yet,

Sweat By Kate Chopin Analysis
Zora Neale Hurston Kate Chopin Poetry is used by writers such as Zora Neale Hurston and Kate
Chopin to express ideas and words through a sense of writing and rhythm that is felt by the poet
who is writing it. Years ago, poets would use poetry as a record of history where they told life events
that was happening or how modern societies were expected to be. "The Poetry of this period forms
the immediate background and matrix of their own work, so much so that unless one keeps the later
nineteenth century." (Venuti, The translator's invisibility, 2017.) Each author made poetry different
by changing the tradition and outlook on poetry which is also known as the dead poet's society.
Authors from the past heavily influenced everything that was created in a poem. "Sweat" written by
Zora Neale Hurston was written during a time period women didn't have an opinion and it was
frowned upon to disagree or go against your husband. This woman in the story over comes the
current times cultural norms. The "Awakening" written by Kate Chopin, speaks out against societies
gender roles and says women are evolving to hold more than the titles "mother" and "housewife." It
was the time of shifting order and woman gaining more rights than was handed to them. Kate
Chopin used her poetry to give an insight of what limitations she might have encountered in her life
as a woman and it explained her choices she chose to help the reader understand what she may have

The name of this play is Journey's End, written by R. C. Sherriff. The play was first preformed on a
Sunday night in December 1928. By 1929 it was being shown at the Savoy Theatre where it ran for
two years.
Later I will be studying the characters of Stanhope and Osborne, and how they link in with the title
"Journey's End", and I will also examine the idea of journeys. I will also study the impact the play
had, why it was so successful and journeys of the minor characters,
Hibbert, Raleigh and Trotter.
Journeys
The subtext of the play is about journeys, mental, physical and emotional. Each character in the play
goes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It starts at the beginning of the play, with him complaining of neuralgia. Stanhope doesn't believe
that Hibbert really has neuralgia, but thinks he is using it as an excuse to get out of the front line.
Later, Hibbert tries to leave, to go see the doctor so he can go home, but Stanhope confronts
Hibbert who still tries to leave. Stanhope threatens to shoot Hibbert, who stands there and shows
courage by telling Stanhope to shoot him.
This is a turning point in Hibbert's journey. Stanhope has realized that Hibbert may not actually have
neuralgia, but may just be terrified of what may happen in the war. Stanhope tells Hibbert that he is
terrified of what may happen, and in that moment, Hibbert decides to stay, and to fight on. That is
the major event in Hibbert's journey. Hibbert's journey went from being scared to showing courage
and bravery by staying. His journey ends in the big German attack at the end of the play.
Trotter's journey is simpler, and mostly revolves around food, and where his next meal is coming
from. Back home trotter is a keen gardener, and has grown a prize Hollyhock. His journey ends in
the big
German attack at the end of the play.
Raleigh's journey is, and has been, strongly influenced by Stanhope, and his presence in Raleigh's
life. Stanhope knew Raleigh before the war, as their fathers were friends. When he first arrives in the
trenches, at the beginning of the play, he is very enthusiastic about
being

Analysis Of Nothing Gold Can Stay By Robert Frost
This poem was written by Robert Frost in 1923. It was published the first time in Yale Review in
October. The poem was published in Frost's original language, English. The significance of this
poem is it was written during a time period with war and most people thought that the world was
coming to an end. The poem isn't apart of any series. Although this poem is short, it is a narrative
poem. The reason it is a narrative poem is if you read between the lines, you find that it tells a long
story about his life and what was happening during this time. The title of the poem Nothing Gold
can Stay doesn't have an obvious meaning. If the readers start out, they would think it was about
nature, but Frost is talking about his time in war with Germany and how the country thought that the
world was coming to an end. The readers have to read between the lines to get the real story in the
poem. If you look a the poem very closely, than you can see that his way of writing the book is very
good because many people could look at it a hundred different ways and find a good story out of it.
There isn't a lot of repeating words in this poem, but one of them is "gold". The reason it is a
repeating word is because, gold in the poem represents the world. In the time period when this poem
was written, everyone thought that because of the war, the world was coming to an end. So when he
says " Nothing gold can stay", the word gold is referring to the world. Although this poem looks like
it is talking about nature, it is really talking about hard times and how the world is about to end. The
poem starts out saying, "Natures fist green is gold", that is refering to the begining of th earth and
how good everything was before the war started. When it says "Eden sank to grief", the poem is
really meaning that the war has started. Finally, the poem ends in "Nothing gold can stay". That last
line in the poem is realy saying that the world is coming to and end and nothing good will be left.
The speaker of the poem Nothing Gold can Stay is spoken by Robert Frost. Frost's voice in this
poem is meant to be universal. The poem is spoken universal because it is telling a story not to or
about someone, but about a harsh time in the world. This

Will Grayson Reflection
My first book that I'll be reviewing is titled Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David
Levithan. I've read several of John Green's books (like most teenage girls) and the first ones I read I
absolutely loved, but after a while it becomes clear that Green uses the same ideas and character
concepts for almost all his books. The novel is told from the perspective of two teenage boys both
named, you guessed it, Will Grayson. With Green providing the POV for one Will while Levithan
tells the other (they alternate every chapter). Their characters meet in the most unexpected of places,
on an unexpected night and ultimately change their lives forever.
A major problem that I personally had with the novel is that even though the two main characters
meeting was supposed to be a huge deal, but it had little to no impact. Levithan's Will faced a big
change because he met Tiny, the other Will's best friend, and they began dating. However, Green's
Will Grayson, (aside from being confused to how he just happened to meet someone with the same
name) remains majorly affected, his life hardly changes, and he has hardly any interaction with the
other Will after the night they meet. It's just confusing why a book that's supposed to be based
around these two characters with the same name meeting, would just throw aside their relationship.
Green's Will Grayson is a classic for the author, a nerdy and hilarious teenage boy with some quality
laugh out loud moments. However, like many of John Green's other characters he also must fall in
love with the first female role introduced, which in this case is a girl named Jane. Much like Paper
Towns and Looking for Alaska, two novels written by the same author, the two–love interest show a
very minimum attraction or chemistry with each other. However, in the other two novels Green
incorporates a mystery two work along with the romance to keep the reader interested, they had
deep physiological and emotion questions to work though. This story lacks that sense of mystery, so
the overall romance comes across as dull and uninteresting. A reference to Schrödinger's cat is used
as a metaphor in their relationship several times but it still doesn't give the storyline the edge it
needs.

Explication Of The Road Not Taken By Robert Frost Essay

  • 1. Explication of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost Essay Explication of The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost When reading "The Road Not Taken," by Robert Frost, I found that it was personal, especially to the author. The fact that it was written in first person form helped me to conclude that it was probably about the author. I think the reasoning behind his writing of this poem was because in life, you have many obstacles to overcome and many choices and decisions to make, which opens a path that leads the way to your future. Since those things relate to Frost, I think it motivated him to write this poem on a personal basis, like a short autobiography on his life. It motivated him because he could then tell others about his life and give advice and guidance to the people that read his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The thing that always holds true though, is that the major issues people's lives are always ironically similar to each other or, at least can relate to them in many ways. Therefore, I found that this poem not only symbolizes or relates to the author, but it also symbolizes or holds true to almost everybody's lives. One of the major symbols within this poem is the roads. When he says "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood," he is using the roads to symbolize the paths, choices, and decisions that he has to make in his life. Those decisions guide the way to his future, because when you come to a two way street or road you have to decide or make a choice on which path to take. Also when he says "And sorry I could not travel both And be on traveler," he is telling us how he is insecure on which road to take because he is unsure of what's ahead and would like to travel both roads to come up with a conclusion or a decision on the correct road to take. So overall, what road basically symbolizes in this poem is the options that he has in his life and the decisions that he has to make. Another symbol in this poem is the many observations that he makes. When he says "long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth," he is using his observations to symbolize the brainstorming, analyzing, and thinking you have to do before or ahead of time when you are offered two options in your life and only one path to take. ... The Perks of Being a Wallflower Compare and Contrast Essay The Perks of being a Wallflower Compare and Contrast The book and the movie for The Perks of Being a Wallflower are extremely different, and I believe that the movie is much better than the book. The movie focuses less on the bigger, depressing topics than the book does. The characters in the movie are also much different than they are in the book. In the movie, the only time you see Charlie crying is at the end, when he blacks out and attempts to commit suicide. There are many scenes and details that were in the book, but were left out of the movie, one thing that differentiates the movie from the book, is the change in character's personalities and the relationships between the characters. In the book, Candace and Charlie seem like they don't get along extremely well. Like any brother and sister, they fight quite a lot and they get in many arguments. But Candace seems like she is much meaner to him in the book than she is to him in the movie. In the movie Candace is much nicer to Charlie, and just nicer in general. Patrick is quite similar in the movie to how he was in the book, except for his personality. In the book, Patrick seems less carefree and funny. It seems like he is a jokester, but he can also be very serious at times. While in the movie he can't be taken seriously and he always is trying to lighten the mood. Even when he and Brad were going through a rough spot in their relationship, he was still messing around and cracking jokes. Charlie was the character that is the most different in the book and in the movie. In the book, Charlie is portrayed as weak, nerdy and extremely awkward. But in the movie he is a tougher character and he seems a lot less quiet and shy. One way the movie shows that Charlie is not very weak is how he only cries once at the end. After a teacher would scold him for the words that were written, he remembered his mother having to visit the school and explain. Explain what? He wasn't quite sure. His older sister Sarah told him that the words written on his skin were the first words his soulmate would say to him. But he never knew why it was so bad if it was what his soulmate said. When highschool came around, Davey was beyond frustrated with the words written on him. He could've gotten anything else, but now whenever someone discovers the writing they burst into laughter. Over the years, he learned to instinctively hide his wrist from people whenever they passed by. "It's so annoying, Sarah!" Davey groaned, leaning back in his bed while his sister stifled her laughter. "Yeah it's," She paused, giggling. "It's not fun, is it?" Sarah hadn't met her soulmate yet either, but at least the words on her wrist weren't something she had to hide. Oh, you're Davey's older sister? "Of all the things they could've said, they had to swear?!" Sarah shrugged. "It all depends on how you meet. For all you know, their swearing could be perfectly justifiable." Davey stopped, thinking for a moment. "I wonder what's written on them..." "Probably you being a total dweeb." "Sarah!" Sarah burst out in laughter, covering her mouth with her hand. Gilman wrote the story in a way that would capture the readers attention. She did not write in a boring manner, and she used the disease itself to make up the story into something anyone would read. Even as old as this story is, Gilman herself suffered from the same thing as the woman in the story. The womans' doctor also applied the "rest cure". He told her to "never touch pen, brush, or pencil again" (Gilman 9) as long as she lived. It was happening in 1887. She obeyed those rules for three months and then went back to work. "Being naturally moved to rejoicing by this narrow escape, I wrote THE YELLOW WALLPAPER" (Gilman 9). A copy of The Yellow Wallpaper was sent to her physician who has nearly driven her mad. He never acknowledged it. The story was not written to drive people crazy but to save people from being driven crazy, and it actually ended up working. The newly wedded couple in the story move into a colonial mansion for the summer. John her husband, is a physician, he knew his wife was ill of nervious breakdowns. • 9. Writing Skills And School Habits For me, writing has always been a challenge. I always felt like that I could not express myself with the words I had been taught or that somehow I had been left out on the instructions on how to properly write. It's always frustrated me that writing has been a challenge, and that may be why I enjoy reading so much because other people seem to have a way with words that I don't. I love reading other people's words a lot more than my own so much so that I tried avoiding writing as much as possible. Of course, school involves a lot of writing so it was not like I could permanently avoid it as much as I wish I could. So when my teacher announced that our class would be writing plays individually and turning them in to a theatre company, I was not at all excited. I was more like terrified about someone reading some trashy play I wrote. This moment in my life, however, changed my writing skills and school habits quite unexpectedly. The experience of writing my own play and having it performed was significant to me because it taught me about procrastination, hard work, and originality. 5th grade was like any other school year except that there were a lot more expectations and responsibilities to go along with it than the previous years, and Mrs. Schillinger definitely expected a lot from us, at least what I thought was a lot. "Class, today, I would like to announce a new writing assignment!" she exclaimed with a shining smile that it blinded the first row of kids. Moans ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Necklace Short Story "The necklace" was written in French and published in a French newspaper in 1884. Maupassant wrote the short story about a young married women, who is a fantasist, certain that she should be living a complete different lifestyle. Regardless of the period it was written, portrays Matilde as being a jealous egotist who lives her life through self–delusion and self–pity which are all timeless and universal themes. The presentation of women is very particular, if you weren't a rich women you wouldn't be important in society and would often be unnoticed rather like Mathilde's servant. Madame frostier is shown to be kind and generous, contrasting with Mathilde's personality of selfishness. Mathilde "tried the necklace on in the mirror" because she enjoys looking at herself. This illustrates Mathilde as a narcissist. Dramatic irony is used in the way Madame Forestier offers Mathilde her necklace to enhance her image, later realizing it cost her all her looks and everything she has to replace it. Soon realizing the necklace was a cheap copy so all the money was wasted this symbolizes Mathilde as a person. Mathilde takes her "treasure with her" listing is used to describe how Mathilde's dream has finally come true. Maupassant applies repetition of "all" to show the attention is focused on Mathilde. The night approaches an end and imagery is enforced to show that the reality is about to return to Mathilde. "Rich furs" are contrasted with "everyday coats" and "shivering with cold" this highlights the real world as bitter and harsh. As soon as she returns home it is "all over for Mathilde" almost like her life had ended. Once again she stands "in front of the mirror" implying that she can't help but to admire herself. Flannery O'Connor's Short Story "A Good Man is Hard to Find" Flannery O'Connor's personal views on the justification of religion and the resulting world or corruption and depravity are apparent in her short story "A Good Man is Hard to Find". She analyzes the basic plight of human existence and its conflict with religious conviction. The first two–thirds of the narrative set the stage for the grandmother, representing traditional Christian beliefs, to collide with The Misfit, representing modern scientific beliefs. The core of symbolism and the magnet for interpretation is at the end, the conversation between the grandmother and The Misfit. The conversation represents the examination of the clash between animal and metaphysical human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is the central dilemma of human consciousness. We are mindful of ourselves but we are also basically animals with violent tendencies and primitive drives. Everyday, these two selves collide. The understanding or awareness of each person demands that we rise above our primeval instincts, and with this demand comes a need for meaning, a purpose beyond the material restrictions of our bodies and the world we see around us. Otherwise all that is left, as The Misfit comments, "'...it's nothing for you to do but enjoy the few minutes you got left the best way you can––by killing somebody or burning down his house or doing some other meanness to him. No pleasure but meanness,' he said and his voice had become almost a snarl." Yet, any belief beyond what we see and what we can touch or hear or smell or feel is just that, a belief. Consequently, any religious or spiritual or anti–religious and anti–spiritual ideology one wishes to take is a leap of blind faith. Eventually, as The Misfit perceives and in due course the grandmother perceives, the world of religious dogma and sacred creed are no match for the systematic observation based and amoral context of the modern world. Thus, we are left with no answer as to the existence of a Supreme Being and with no means to answer that question. Accordingly his frustration is not with Jesus and whether or not He ... • 17. Imperialism In Hawaii Speech According to the information present in the speech given by a man named, Sanford J Dole, the Americans imperializing Hawai'i was a constructive motion. This is due to the fact that throughout the speech, Dole informs his audience on the benefits both the Hawaiians and Hawai'i would gain through Hawai'i being a territory of the United States(US). The speech was given on June 10th, 1900, at Iolani Palace, after Dole was elected to be the governor of the Territory of Hawai'i. As the speech is an original document, it is a primary source. Based on the information provided in the speech, the message Dole is trying to convey is that the day Hawai'i became a territory of the US, is one of the most important days in Hawaiian history. This is because ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This primary source assists in answering the question, "Was imperialism constructive or deconstructive," as it gives numerous examples of how the US imperialising Hawai'i was constructive. The examples included the ways the Hawaiians and Hawai'i benefited from being a territory of the US. Since the speech gives a clear western perspective on the US imperialising Hawai'i and clearly shows the audience whether imperialism was constructive or destructive for a western perspective, it is valuable. Therefore, the examples and the clear perspective provided assists in answering the overall question of whether imperialism was constructive or destructive. Regardless of the valuable information sources possess, they all also have limitations. The first limitation of the source is that the speech doesn't show both sides of imperialism. This is because the speech only demonstrates how imperialism was constructive, and doesn't state anything about how it may have been destructive. Another limitation is that the speech was written from a western perspective, therefore it was written from the perspective of the people from the country that was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Analysis of World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War I chose to read World War Z An Oral History of the Zombie War. I was looking forward to reading this book because I enjoy science fiction book because it's more interesting then books that are just normal books. One thing I liked about this was the plot. I enjoy that it was written to show how humans would behave if this was actually to happen. I have mixed opinions about how we as a country would deal with this just because do we fight? Hold up in a secure building? Or do we start doing experiments on the infected people? I'm not sure what we as American would chose to do? Would we stay fare or become brutal in the conditions we were put in. in this book we are hearing and living the stories about how people are trying to understand and not be afraid of this disease. As we have learned from TV shows and movies if this happens then there doesn't always have a government. Its people on their own or small groups of people doing what they have too in order to survive. In this book it's written like news clippings which can be hard to understand but is also written to seem more real. This book starts out with a doctor receiving a call from a Parks 2 small village needing medical care. He shows up and sees a few patients in an old hut tied down with a door that locks from the outside. At first he doesn't understand because no one was taking care of them, as he is examining them he notices a bite mark that isn't from an animal. The bite isn't infected but they have fevers and ... Malcom X wanted to improve his writing, Lupe Quintanilla wanted to learn English, and I am motivated to receive a higher education. Drive, that is what all of these individuals have in common. Something in our lives lead us down the path to better our education it was a tough road but being motivated kept us going. In Malcom X's short story, A Homemade Education, it talks about how Malcom was in prison and how he wanted to better his vocabulary and writing so he could effectively write letters to people. One of the quotes he writes about his frustration trying to explain what he means in his writings. "I became increasingly frustrated at not being able to express what I wanted to convey in letters that I wrote, especially those to Mr. Elijah Muhammad. In the street, I had been the most articulate hustler out there – I had commanded attention when I said something. But now, trying to write simple English, I not only wasn't articulate, I wasn't even functional" (Malcom 437). When I decided to go back to school, I struggled with learning Algebra and I felt like I wasn't even functional. Much like Malcom, I began trying to understand Algebra by thinking about what the problems were and trying to work through the problems. He explained how he practiced writing repetitively from the dictionary to learn and how he would wake up and would think about what he had learned. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. Society and Technology in "The Anthem" Essay Now–a–days, when we think of the future, we picture flying cars, and being able to transport. In the novel "The Anthem" society and technology as we know it had been driven to an entirely new direction. The characters in the society do not have the right to speak freely nor do anything that they wish. They lost all of their freedom, they couldn't even think for themselves. The society had to think as a whole, the word "I" did not exist in their vocabulary. The society is very balanced, and everyone fears the thought of even questioning it. Up until one man known as Equality 7–25271 wants the answers to all of his questions. The novel is expressed as Equality 7–2521's diary. One of the many benefits of having the novel written in a diary format, is that you get to really understand what the character feels about his surroundings. Most of the other people in the society don't notice their setting nor do they have knowledge of anything else. Equality 7–2521 describes his surroundings as being small and dark, all the buildings which are plain mark the housing of several different people. All the citizens of this society are over–worked and tired yet they have no intention of complaining because they fear the punishment. This novel would not be the same if it was written in any other form other then a diary, as well as if the novel was written in first person. It would not have to same effect on the readers. There are so many diaries, but all are written in the first person, so "The Anthem" is unique. • 25. Criticism And Mccarthyism In Arthur Miller's The Crucible Arthur Miller's The Crucible is an instance that proves subliminally what is wrong with society and mankind in overall perspective the book gives a feeling of relation to what happens now. Arthur Miller in a sense tried to put forth a message through this book beginning with McCarthyism, which was happening around the time it was written, but relating to the present it definitely sends a message even if it was written in the past. Miller does just what is needed to explain human nature and our behavior. The first thing that you could say Miller expresses them to do is the act of only having a certain way do to do things and what is right and wrong that is explained through this explained through this quote You must understand, sir, that a person is either with this court or he must be counted against it, there be no road between. This is a sharp time, now, a precise time–we live no longer in the dusky afternoon when evil mixed itself with good and befuddled the world. Now, by God's grace, the shining sun is up, and them that fear not light will surely praise it. (Miller 87) This explains what we have wrong in society today and how it relates is that people who are discriminated are for the same reason that they don't do things as the rest. Differences cause our violence and isolation. We have distinctions that are the "road between" as the quote says and now in a so–called advanced society we still have these negative thoughts about their only being a single right way to do things. We see this in the way people see other people who are differently oriented. They take homosexuality as unacceptable because to people there is only one way to be with someone and that is to the opposite sex. Although, back then it did happen that there was only one way and no road in between the present gives people that opportunity to choose an alternate, with that, there are still prejudices against the LGBTQ community as there was when people started to do things differently in Salem. Through this book the main plot is conflict. In our nature and as part of the Human Condition conflict is inevitable. Miller put the message across by using a historical event that was a dispute and which led to deaths. The book does not let the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. The Paradox Commandments Analysis A poem is often defined as an art form used to express yourself, which evokes emotion in its reader. However, there are poems with another purpose besides making the audience feel something. Some poems are used to educate, inspire, or give advice to it's readers. Two poems that offer excellent advice about how to live life happily and successfully are "If" by Rudyard Kipling and "The Paradoxical Commandments" by Dr. Kent M. Keith. Rudyard Kipling, the author of "If" and Dr. Kent M. Keith, the author of "The Paradoxical Commandments" give both similar and different advice, but this advice is directed at two different audiences because of the way it is presented in the poems. The largest difference between these poems is the demographic they are written for. "If" is undeniably male–dominant in comparison to "The Paradoxical Commandments" which has advice directed at anyone who chooses to read it. The first indication that "If" has advice specifically given to males is in line three when Kipling says, "If you can trust yourself when men doubt you," This line could have easily been adjusted to "... when people doubt you," to allow all readers to relate to it. The second time Kipling makes it obvious his words are for male–readers only is the second line of the final stanza "Or walk with Kings ––– nor lose the common touch." Kings are clearly masculine, and as powerful as a person can get in Kipling's eyes. The final line of the poem "And ––– which is more ––– you'll be a man, my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. An Hour Response In "Story of an Hour", written by Kate Chopin, there were quite a few unexpected events. Initially, I expected the story to be longer than two pages. I also thought that the story's name could have been different. For example, the story instantly starts off by talking about Mrs. Mallard's heart problem, and that fact is repeated throughout the story. Why not title it something like "Matters of the Heart"? But, after reading the story I realized that time is an important aspect of the story– all the events in the story happen within the hour, and Mrs. Mallard mentions time on multiple occasions– "She breathed a quick prayer that life might be long. It was only yesterday she had thought with a shudder that life might be long" (Page 279). In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that the first theme this story shows is that life can change in an instant. This leads me to my second theme, which is to not take things for granted. Mrs. Mallard might not have loved her husband the way he had loved her, but she expected to see him come home that day. The same could be said when Mrs. Mallard was comprehending her newfound freedom– she had hoped for (and expected to) live a life after her husband had "died"– "Spring days, and summer days, and all sorts of days that would be her own" (Page 279). On a lighter note, the third theme I believed was in this story was to not jump to conclusions unless you see it for yourself. Mrs. Mallard believed that her husband had died because her husband's name was in the newspaper on the list of those killed in a rail accident. Obviously, the mistake was not intentional, but it had severe results. I also believe that this story's message was mainly a bash on society as a whole. This story reflects how society treated women in the 1800s– which was not good. Back then, women were treated horribly and granted, things are not perfect now, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The poem "Carrickfergus" was written by an Irish writer called Louis MacNeice in The 20th Century. It was written in four line stanzas and now I am going to analyse this poem and talk about each stanza. In the first line of the first stanza, we notice that the child Louis MacNeice is using specific detail in his poem as he says he was born in Belfast between the mountain and the gantries. In the next stanza MacNeice says that the church is to the blame for all the wrongs going on, I assume he says this because he doesn't like the church but I believe he genuinely doesn't think the church is too blame. MacNeice also tells us that his father was a rector and he was banned forever from the candles of the Irish poor; again he is showing divisions by saying the Irish are poor. In this same stanza he talks about the Chichesters who are a rich Irish family. The war then starts and Louis uses sensory images; sight and sound. The sight images he uses are the horse with long Dummies hanging from gibbets for bayonet practice, and the sound images he uses is sentry's challenge echoing all day long. These images make the poem more realistic. He then goes on and states that a Yorkshire terrier ran to the gate lodge, marched at ease and sang, "Who killed Cock Robin"? They used the words 'Dear' at the beginning and 'Yours Faithfully' at the end of the page, which is only used if you are writing to a person that you do not know. However, they wrote the letter to 'Parents and Careers' so that it is generalised to whoever is taking care of the child. This is because it is harder to write a letter to each parent. Also, 'Career' is used so that nobody is offended. This being the first sentence that I had read from the book, I already had formed some opinions of the book. One of the first impressions that I had gotten from the book Feed, was that I really wasn't in favor of the book. I thought that the book was that it was really odd, and that it could be very harsh at times. However after actually starting to read the book and getting further in it, my opinion on that slowly started to change throughout the book. The novel Feed is extremely satiric and is under the Science Fiction genre written by as stated before M.T. Anderson. Feed takes place in the near future, maybe about fifty to a hundred years from when it was written. Also it represents Anderson's thought on how future America and Americans will be. You can tell this by the actions, thoughts, and carelessness of almost all the characters throughout the book. Titus and his group of friends Calista, Link, Loga, Marty, and Quendy, are the first introduced in Feed. In a sense they are all similar, this being because they are all senseless, careless, unintelligent, and make poor choices. This book is truly eye–opening and emotional. Through reading it, I have not only started to contemplate my own expereinces with race but I have also started to ruminate what is happening on a global level when it comes to minority groups. The two most predominant themes in Between the World and Me are fatherhood and race. This book is written very similarly to a letter from Ta–Nehisi Coates to his son Samori. It lays out everything that comes along with being a black person in the United States by sharing examples from throughout Coates's life. Coates hopes to teach his son that African Americans have been unable to overcome the oppression that they face in order to accomplish great things. By having the theme of fatherhood present in this book, it has added so much more emotion to the story and therefore has allowed me to connect so much more with the text. In addition to fatherhood, the theme of race he is also incredibly prevalent. The point of view is important because if it was written in any other form than the we, the readers would not have known what Mrs. Mallard was feeling after she got the news or what the doctors had to say after she had died. If we say that the story was written in Josephine point of view, we would have thought that Mrs. Mallard was in her room drinking or making herself ill; "Louise, open the door! I beg; open the door–you will make yourself ill." (40). Or if it was Mr. Mallards point of view we, the readers would not have known that any of this had happened because he did not that the accident had happened; "He had been far from the scene of accident, and did not even know there had been one" (41). Chopin had written in this point of view so the readers could be involved in all of the characters' ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 51. Literary Analysis Of Robert Frost's Nothing Gold Can Stay This poem was written by Robert Frost. It was written in America, in english. It was written when people thought the world was going to end, around the 1920's. The poem could be confessional, but it could also be a narrative. It tells a story of leaves and flowers dying, and about children growing up, but the reason he wrote the poem is to tell the story of the world ending. The poem also talks about Robert's political views, in a way. He's saying that he does believe the world is going to end. The title of the poem is Nothing Gold Can Stay. It conveys multiple meanings. Such as Spring, or children growing up, or the world is going to end. There is no repeating words in the poem, however Robert Frost does use an AA BB AA BB pattern for his rhymes. In the poem, a few months pass. It talks about the birth of spring and the ending of it. But if you look at it from the children growing up perspective, then around 18 years pass. However if you look at Nothing Gold Can Stay as a poem about the end of the world, than 9,500 years passes. He says "So Eden sank to grief" in the Bible the Garden of Eden was created in the beginning, and man was kicked out, so Eden sank to grief. Now, the world is ending and 9,500 years have passed, assuming he believes in a young Earth. There are no human characters in the poem, there are only leaves, flowers, and the Earth. Eden and Nature are also characters. Robert Frost doesn't leave out any details. He only uses his words in a way to convey ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Moon is very independent because throughout the story he does a lot of things on his own including living alone. On page 3 I found out that he was ten years old because it said "I was ten years old and he'd taught me everything I needed to know about living out in the forest." So this showed me that he knew how to live in his own out in the forest and that he was ten years old which was pretty young to be living on his own out in the forest. At first when Moon was scared and lonely without his dad he was aggressive with the other characters. On page 27 Moon really showed his anger toward Mr.Abroscotto "I felt anger flash through my ... We didn't ever see anybody except Mr.Abroscotto." This quote shows how Moon is developing through the story. That is how the main character is developed through the story and how the main character interacts with the other characters. Ideas: The main idea through the beginning of the story is Moon trying to survive in the forest by himself and trying to fight off everyone. Then over time Moon realizes that he doesn't want to live in the forest anymore and fight against anyone anymore. The conflict in the story happens a lot in the beginning of the story because Moon is trying to stay hidden but then towards the end of the story he doesn't want to be alone for the rest of his life and fight off everyone that tries to take him away or help him. On page 3 he said "Pap said he even figured I could whip somebody three times my size. He wasn't worried about me." So that quote shows that he was thinking that he could just beat up anyone that tried to take him away from the forest or anything else. But later in the story when he found out that he couldn't just do that and get away with it he stopped doing it. On page 239 Moon was talking to a policeman and the policeman said, "You're not gonna bit me or nothin', are you? Nossir. I'm not aimin' to try and whip up on anybody anymore. I don't aim to bust out of anywhere, either." ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It all started over this young boy to lazy to take out the garbage. His refusing To do so then involved his other siblings and mother which lead to an all out fight In the family. The resulting court actions by the father against the mother has empowered this young man to feel he does not have to do what he is told. The sad part of this all is the fact that the father is using this as a manipulation tool to stop paying child support for the children. This is a no win situation for the children. In fact the mental scaring has already begun and will only get worse. In fact this child has already begun showing cruel behavior towards animals. Because of the greedy action of an "A typical uneducated Southern redneck" which has no compassion for his own children their lives will be ruined. • 61. Everyman-a Medieval Play Review A Review of "The Summoning of Everyman" Summary Everyman is a play which was written to express the importance of morality, to whoever read it or experienced it being performed on stage. Some scholars say that it was written sometime in the late 1400's, while others insist that it is a translation of a Flemish work called "Elckerlijc", which was written by Peter van Diest in 1495. Everyman is an allegory play which is heavily based upon Christian religious perspectives; also it is resoundingly similar to the Christian belief of the resurrection of Christ, and his ascension into Heaven, after the crucifixion. The first act of Everyman, opens with a prologue which takes on the form of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This play has received a moderate amount of popularity over the past near 500 years; and now today there are some scholars and researchers whom are exceptionally critical, both positively and negatively, of the details as to how it was written. One criticism of note would have to be one which was voiced by Thomas F van Laan. In referring to the general premise of Everyman, he contends of the writer that "His speech is essentially negative; he focuses solely on the inevitability of death and the destructiveness of sin". Simply put, Mr. van Laan is stating that at first, the sole purpose of this work appears to emphasize specifically on death and how mankind should feel only sorrow for anything that they do, which goes against the teachings of Christianity. Another criticism of this work which Mr. van Laan refers to is the point in the beginning when God first speaks. Mr. Van Laan states: "Gods words are wholly negative in force, implying only the difficulty to come, omitting any indication of hope for mankind". Mr. van Laan is voicing this criticism on the opening section of the play, fundamentally about how he considers Gods words to be too negative in their approach. In expressing this condemnation, Mr. van Laan is adamant about his beliefs that God would probably not be so disconcerting in his approach to dealing with mankind. However not all that Mr. van ... Mass murders have been cause by guns does this mean we should only allow our military to have guns? I believe in the constitution we have the right to bear arms. It was written in the constitution for a reason. Without guns it makes our country weak. I'm not talking about just our military having them I'm talking about citizens not being able to have guns. If you took guns away from the people who actually use them correctly you would just be making it easier for the ones who use them illegally. I do believe we need better control on the illegal guns, as it seems they're too easy to get now. We should be focusing on how to stop illegal guns coming here rather than focusing on taking them away from the people who acquire them legally. We have the right to bear arms this is our American tradition and should stay as it's written in the constitution. A gun is powerless until someone gets behind it and uses it in the wrong manner. The people who are using it "legally" use it for safety only and not to harm someone unless they're threatening their family. The media plays a big part in how guns are displayed and only show the negative parts to guns. There should be better education on guns but the point shouldn't be to scare people away from them. There is just something about this age group that life changing events occur, whether or not the person is ready or not to experience them. Clearly, Holden is very much agitated at the fact that some sick person would write 'Fuck you' on the wall of an elementary school. So much so that Holden says it was most likely written by perverty bum who walked onto the school grounds and wrote it just for the hell of it. Yet, there is a possibility that it was not an older individual, but a student at the school. It is evident when Holden discovers yet another 'Fuck you' on the wall inside the school stairwell. "I went down by a different staircase, and I saw another 'Fuck you' on the wall. I tried to rub it off with my hand again, but this one was scratched on, with a knife or something" (Salinger 202). Sweat By Kate Chopin Analysis Zora Neale Hurston Kate Chopin Poetry is used by writers such as Zora Neale Hurston and Kate Chopin to express ideas and words through a sense of writing and rhythm that is felt by the poet who is writing it. Years ago, poets would use poetry as a record of history where they told life events that was happening or how modern societies were expected to be. "The Poetry of this period forms the immediate background and matrix of their own work, so much so that unless one keeps the later nineteenth century." (Venuti, The translator's invisibility, 2017.) Each author made poetry different by changing the tradition and outlook on poetry which is also known as the dead poet's society. Authors from the past heavily influenced everything that was created in a poem. "Sweat" written by Zora Neale Hurston was written during a time period women didn't have an opinion and it was frowned upon to disagree or go against your husband. This woman in the story over comes the current times cultural norms. The "Awakening" written by Kate Chopin, speaks out against societies gender roles and says women are evolving to hold more than the titles "mother" and "housewife." It was the time of shifting order and woman gaining more rights than was handed to them. The play was first preformed on a Sunday night in December 1928. By 1929 it was being shown at the Savoy Theatre where it ran for two years. Later I will be studying the characters of Stanhope and Osborne, and how they link in with the title "Journey's End", and I will also examine the idea of journeys. Stanhope doesn't believe that Hibbert really has neuralgia, but thinks he is using it as an excuse to get out of the front line. Stanhope threatens to shoot Hibbert, who stands there and shows courage by telling Stanhope to shoot him. This is a turning point in Hibbert's journey. Stanhope has realized that Hibbert may not actually have neuralgia, but may just be terrified of what may happen in the war. Stanhope tells Hibbert that he is terrified of what may happen, and in that moment, Hibbert decides to stay, and to fight on. That is the major event in Hibbert's journey. Hibbert's journey went from being scared to showing courage and bravery by staying. His journey ends in the big German attack at the end of the play. • 76. Analysis Of Nothing Gold Can Stay By Robert Frost This poem was written by Robert Frost in 1923. It was published the first time in Yale Review in October. The poem was published in Frost's original language, English. The significance of this poem is it was written during a time period with war and most people thought that the world was coming to an end. The poem isn't apart of any series. Although this poem is short, it is a narrative poem. The reason it is a narrative poem is if you read between the lines, you find that it tells a long story about his life and what was happening during this time. The title of the poem Nothing Gold can Stay doesn't have an obvious meaning. If the readers start out, they would think it was about nature, but Frost is talking about his time in war with Germany and how the country thought that the world was coming to an end. The readers have to read between the lines to get the real story in the poem. If you look a the poem very closely, than you can see that his way of writing the book is very good because many people could look at it a hundred different ways and find a good story out of it. There isn't a lot of repeating words in this poem, but one of them is "gold". The reason it is a repeating word is because, gold in the poem represents the world. In the time period when this poem was written, everyone thought that because of the war, the world was coming to an end. So when he says " Nothing gold can stay", the word gold is referring to the world. Although this poem looks like it is talking about nature, it is really talking about hard times and how the world is about to end. The poem starts out saying, "Natures fist green is gold", that is refering to the begining of th earth and how good everything was before the war started. When it says "Eden sank to grief", the poem is really meaning that the war has started. Finally, the poem ends in "Nothing gold can stay". That last line in the poem is realy saying that the world is coming to and end and nothing good will be left. The speaker of the poem Nothing Gold can Stay is spoken by Robert Frost. Frost's voice in this poem is meant to be universal. The poem is spoken universal because it is telling a story not to or about someone, but about a harsh time in the world. This ... • 78. Will Grayson Reflection My first book that I'll be reviewing is titled Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan. I've read several of John Green's books (like most teenage girls) and the first ones I read I absolutely loved, but after a while it becomes clear that Green uses the same ideas and character concepts for almost all his books. The novel is told from the perspective of two teenage boys both named, you guessed it, Will Grayson. With Green providing the POV for one Will while Levithan tells the other (they alternate every chapter). Their characters meet in the most unexpected of places, on an unexpected night and ultimately change their lives forever. A major problem that I personally had with the novel is that even though the two main characters meeting was supposed to be a huge deal, but it had little to no impact. Levithan's Will faced a big change because he met Tiny, the other Will's best friend, and they began dating. However, Green's Will Grayson, (aside from being confused to how he just happened to meet someone with the same name) remains majorly affected, his life hardly changes, and he has hardly any interaction with the other Will after the night they meet. It's just confusing why a book that's supposed to be based around these two characters with the same name meeting, would just throw aside their relationship. Green's Will Grayson is a classic for the author, a nerdy and hilarious teenage boy with some quality laugh out loud moments. However, like many of John Green's other characters he also must fall in love with the first female role introduced, which in this case is a girl named Jane. Much like Paper Towns and Looking for Alaska, two novels written by the same author, the two–love interest show a very minimum attraction or chemistry with each other. However, in the other two novels Green incorporates a mystery two work along with the romance to keep the reader interested, they had deep physiological and emotion questions to work though. This story lacks that sense of mystery, so the overall romance comes across as dull and uninteresting. A reference to Schrödinger's cat is used as a metaphor in their relationship several times but it still doesn't give the storyline the edge it needs. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
