Dear Judges:
My name is Chandler McCall. After high school, I plan to go to Shorter University to
study Christian Studies. Once I complete that I will go on to New Orleans Baptist
Theological Seminary and become a youth pastor. I chose my senior project of teaching
four weeks on a guys Bible study called Cornerstone. I chose this because it will give me
an idea of what my job will be like as a youth pastor.
The product of my project was leading the four weeks of Cornerstone. My research was
on problems that youth deal with today. It did not relate to my final product as much as I
wanted it to, but I did get a main theme from it, leadership. During the process, I had to
change plans many times, but staying flexible helped me finish my product and in my
mind make it a success. Not only did I learn to deal with these temporary problems, but
this taught me that not everything goes according to plan, so back up plans are needed.
My research taught me that many adults that lead us today feel that my generation is a
lost cause. They say that we will never live up to our full potential and fail at being the
leaders we need to be, so the lessons I taught related to becoming a good leader. This
relates to my post secondary endeavors as I will be a youth pastor and leading the youth
of a church. I plan to major in full time ministry at Shorter University which will have
leadership classes as part of my course load. After Shorter, I will be going to NOBTS
which will also have classes on leadership.
I have learned many skills from my senior project that I will be using for my whole
career. The project was very useful and a great experience in my opinion. Thank you for
your time and I hope you have a nice day.
Sincerely,
Chandler McCall
