God addresses the church in Laodicea, describing them as lukewarm - neither hot nor cold for God. He rebukes them for losing their passion and vision for Jesus, becoming unfaithful and unwilling to grow. God desires passionate followers and warns that a lukewarm attitude greatly displeases Him. He calls the church to restore their fire for Jesus by repenting of sins that have caused their stagnation, and to overcome lukewarmness so they can share in His kingdom.
