A new conceptual design for a self sustaining food garden on New York/New Jersey's hudson river is making big news!

2. Technology is constantly driving all aspects of humanity
forward, and horticulture is no exception.

3. One such progression is the proposed construction of a
food garden, called Swale, on the Hudson River.

4. The garden would be
buoyant, and rotate
through different piers
across New York City.

5. People would board the vessel and pick their own fresh
produce.

• Wetland plants would be
the foundation of the

7. These plants would thrive on the river water…

grow, they would function as
a source of energy for other
flowering plants and

9. The project also has a nice community aspect. Local gardens, high school
students, and a college are all coming together to make it a reality.
