Goals:
I will investigate new topics with the latest technologies in all my
Math 2R classes.
Objectives:
It is my intention to help students to effectively and fluently
communicate mathematical reasoning. I will learn how to show students in
my Math 2R classes to communicate fluently in mathematics as a language.
I will emphasize the importance of making mathematical arguments
graphically, geometrically, numerically, analytically and verbally (GGNAV).
To accomplish this aim, I will introduce the use of the Texas Instruments­89
Graphing Calculator.
Activities:
 I will attend conferences related to technology in math class.
 I will explore ways to incorporate the TI­89 calculator into 2R.
 I will review literature pertinent to Computer Algebra Systems.
 I will learn to use a Geometers’ Sketchpad.
 I will research types of cooperative activities for the students to
experiment with technology.
Evaluation:
I will keep a log of all new activities and technologies gradually introduced on
a weekly basis. I will also attempt to assess how the use of these techniques
improve student performance, understanding and retention with respect to
the myriad topics students must master for the Math 2 Regents.
