9. aloha is a social planning app that allows you to
make time for new discoveries and match with
different activities by local artists & organizations
based on your calendar

You choose up to 3 activities and then ’continue’ to discover the

If you don’t like the activity, just swipe it left and aloha will present you

18. During the creation of aloha, I used two tools:
MockFlow: For wireframe design
Thunkable: To design the screens and apply the
intended functionality to create a demo of the app

19. aloha is the Hawaiian greeting word that also means
love, affection, peace, compassion and mercy but it
has a deeper cultural and spiritual significance.
Native Hawaiians uses aloha as a force that holds
the existence together.
During this challenging time, we need love, affection,
peace, compassion especially for ourselves so
I named the app aloha
20. As color palette, I used the Official Colors of the flowers for Hawaiian Islands
and used Turquoise that represents the water surrounding these islands
Smashing Logo website was used to design the logo of the app
In addition, this song was one of the inspiration for the app name
Møme - Aloha (Official Music Video) ft. Merryn Jeann
21. Social Planning apps are on the rise and one of the most successful one IRL is
attracting both users and investors
22. For this project, I came up with a solution to a personal problem:
Not finding time for new discoveries to refresh myself!
The problem is not a productivity problem but a problem of being overloaded
So I decided to create an app that I would personally use – I took some reference features
from Tinder as to make the discoveries more spontaneous and to enable quick decisions
In addition, I tried to have less screens to create an almost seamless experience
This class taught me how to create user interfaces and I really enjoyed using MockFlow
Although I had challenges with Thunkable at first, I was able to create a demo for my idea
in a short span of time
If I had more time, I’d put more research into the competitive landscape and
user personas
23. But I know that I’d personally use aloha
as it is literally the first mobile app that I
created J
After the CFPN542 class, I’ll focus on
MockFlow and Thunkable to create
some app demos
I also realized that using MockFlow
made me really happy and motivated so
I’d consider to deepen my experience for
the creation of wireframes.
Another design that I made with
MockFlow – A Digital Starbucks Cup
