The City of Toronto will reconstruct Moore Avenue from Bayview Avenue to Welland Avenue from June 14, 2010 to the end of October 2010. Moore Avenue will be closed to through traffic from June 21 to September 6, 2010 during the construction project. Transit service will be disrupted during the closure period, and vehicular traffic and parking will be restricted during construction. Residents are advised to expect traffic delays and congestion, especially during the first week until alternate routes are established.

The City of Toronto’s Capital Construction Programme includes the reconstruction of road and streetscaping on
Moore Avenue from Bayview Avenue to Welland Avenue in the Toronto and East York District.
Construction Details
• The construction is tentatively scheduled to begin June 14, 2010 to the end of October 2010, weather
permitting;
• Work will consist of the road reconstruction and streetscaping;
• Moore Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Bayview Avenue to Welland Avenue from
June 21, 2010 to September 6, 2010. Local and emergency access will be maintained at all times;
• Safe pedestrian access will be maintained at all times;
• Access and storage for trucks and heavy equipment will be managed in such a way as to minimize
obstruction to private driveways and sidewalks.
Transit Service
• Transit Service will be disrupted during the Construction Closure Period (June 21 to September
6, 2010)

Parking Restrictions and General Information
• Vehicular traffic and on-street parking will be restricted during the construction. Alternate arrangements
will be made for permit parking;
• Construction signs will be posted before the start of construction activities;
• You may experience traffic delays during construction.
Every effort will be made to complete this essential work as quickly as possible and with the least
inconvenience to the community. Your assistance and co-operation during the construction period is crucial and
appreciated.
Work Hours
Normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. However, the Contractor is
permitted to work within the City’s by-law requirements and may have to work on Saturdays and Sundays.
