  3. 3. What is Periodontal Disease? <ul><li>Periodontal disease begins with the gingivitis and progresses to the deterioration of the underlying support of the teeth through the accumulation of plaque and bacteria. </li></ul>
  4. 4. What is Gingivitis? <ul><li>Is the earliest stage of gum disease. It can consist of red swollen bleeding gums with some tenderness upon chewing. </li></ul><ul><li>Gingivitis is reversable. </li></ul>
