2. Humble Beginnings Photography started with a small Semflex box camera, the fruit of a fantastic swap carried out by my grandmother! Faucon He was taught at the Sorbonne and majored in Philosophy, however Bernard Faucon has never taken a class on photography, his art is based solely on his love of literature and paintings. For the last 10 years he has not let anyone take a picture of him.
3. First Works When he was starting out as a photographer Faucon like to use real people and scenery combined with mannequins. He did this to mix reality and imagination. When you first look at the pictures everything looks real. Faucon wanted to prove that photographs and art are not about the objective but the subjective. After this time he stopped for about 10 years because he had “finished expressing all that I had to express.”

5. The Most Beautiful Day of My Youth This collection Faucon started in 1997. It is a mixture of works from 25 different international sites including Brazil, Japan, Mali, Cuba, France, Lebanon, Morocco, and Thailand. At each site he hosts a festival and invites hundreds of young people between the ages of 15 and 20. Each person gets their own disposable camera and is told to take pictures of whatever they want. Faucon and assistants walk around handing out food, drinks, smoke bombs, and gold paper to set the mood of excitement and to help conduct the photos.

7. My picture The picture I chose was from one of Faucon’s international festivals in China. He was trying to show the “joys and beauty” of youth. It was taken by one of the youth attending the festival on a disposable camera.
