For this unit YOU will be taking on the identity of someone living
during the First World War. You could be a soldier, an officer, a civilian,
etc. but all assignments will be completed from this point of view.
You will be creating a scrapbook from your character’s point of view- the
following are just the guidelines so feel free to be as creative as you want!
Each scrapbook will need at least 15 entries with a cover and some sort of
binding. Your entries MUST include ONE of each of the following and be YOUR
OWN work:
- a newspaper clipping
- a journal/diary entry
- a personal letter sent OR received
- an example of propaganda (remember- you must create it!)
- a poem
OTHER ideas may be:
- a public service announcement
- a telegram
- an advertisement
- a photo/picture
- an obituary
- a sample radio script
- an editorial
- a political cartoon
ALSO: Include a card indicating your character’s name, location, and the
dates of the scrapbook.
