Purpose

Significance

cleaningmore quicklyandthoroughly, aswell asreducingdamage suchas the abrasionandcolor fade
due to laundering.Bydoingso,ourclothingandwalletwill lastlongerinadditiontoconsciously
eliminatingwaterandchemical waste.Rethinkingwashingmachinescanpositivelyimpactthe durability
of yourwardrobe,personal finances,and physical world.

To improve laundering,the AATCChasbeguntoformulate testsaroundredesigningthe washing
machine,makingtechnological advancementinthisareaa deeming possibility. Thesenew testsfocuson
watertemperature,international machinemodels,andadditional washcycles. New laundrymachines
and detergentshave beeninthe workswiththe purpose of meetingthe standardssetfora pristine
load,all while usinglesswater,energy,andtemperature.Byusing400 G-Force inthe spincycle to
extractmore moisture (inacommercial setting),clothingdoesn’thave tospendasmuchtime inthe
dryer.Dryersthat have the capabilityto sense the moisture contentof clothing,remote control access
throughsmart phones,and implicationsfordifferent detergentconcentrations have beenpartof the
processinreinventinglaundering.
