Ecology:
Balance in its definition dictates even handed approach: given issues at hand have to be treated fairly in order to achieve balance.
However, balance is also an issue which can differ based on cultural, social and traditional values. Thus, balance /balancing of
ecology can be defined and treated differently from country to country. One may also argue that results of ecological balance can be
interpreted based on individual views: industrial view may be satisfied with minimal balance; yet, private citizens may expect more
efforts.
Ultimately, in order to achieve a true balanced ecological policy one has to consider industrial and citizens views: industrial needs
have to be considered in order to maximize profits and efficiency; citizens needs and desires have to be taken into account in order
to maximize satisfaction factors.
Politics:
Soft money and lobbying are the two most distractive component of U.S. political machine. Those who chose not to vote are rightly
assuming that their vote is less valuable than money contributed by individuals and interest groups. Academia has chosen to address
this issue by making this kind of contribution as necessary part of democracy. Equally, politicians argue that by allowing lobbyists to
contribute to their campaigns, the true goal of democracy has been achieved.
Ultimately, democracy takes the biggest blow: money replaces the power of the people. Those who chose to make their voice matter
by financial contributions are choosing to diminish the value of those who express themselves by voting alone. It is an act of powerful
using their power to stay powerful, or rich help each other. Nevertheless, it is a part of democracy: using all means to matter.
Morality:
Morality and loyalty toward those that participate in particular interest groups is a vital part of maintaining group dynamic. Those who
chose to ease their standards because of sympathy for their peers, exercise discretionary morality. As in every other abstract
concept, morality can depend on cultural, social, traditional and economic factors: thus morality has to be treated with the leverage
and flexibility.
Ultimately, those who decided to protect their own, are only exercising the necessary judgment which accompanies all abstract
concepts: morality in its definition dictates value based practices. Thus, individual choice to use different standards in morality based
on individual groups is within the realm of morality.
