Thomas Alva Edison was an American inventor and scientist born in 1847 who is most famous for inventing the first successful light bulb model which he publicly demonstrated at Menlo Park in December 1879. The incandescent light bulb, also known as the incandescent lamp or light globe, produces light through the heating of a filament wire inside a glass bulb.
