2. We have chosen to make a film trailer, with a poster
and magazine page
The genre for our film is romantic
Trailers include a selection of shots from afilm being
advertised. The purpose of the trailer is to attract an
audience to the film, they are usually made from the
most exciting, funny, or important parts of the film but
in abbreviated form and are usually done without
spoiling the storyline.
3. Romantic films focus on emotion, passion and a
couples relationship. Couples can face obstacles, for
example finances, illness or someone leaving. Most
love films focus on love at first sight, happy endings,
forbidden love and final kisses.
4. Our inspirations for ideas have been Dear John, One Day,
The Notebook, The Last Song and The Lucky One.
5. Timeline of when the couple meet, including when they
meet and their dates. At the end we want to have a cliff-
hanger ending to our trailer, leaving the audience on edge
and wanting to watch more. Our ideas were
A young boy and girl meet in a odd circumstances
They typically fall in love
One of them has to leave, possibly the girl
They break up
She comes back because the boy and her are so in love or
because something happens to the boy.
They get back together.
6. When we are planning each scene and event for our
trailer we will need to think about the codes and
conventions of Romantic films and include them in
our trailer to ensure that our trailer is similar to other
film trailers existing today.
