1. Leftover Love Overview

The concept around Leftover Love is simple; it is based on the individual taking their own
reusable containers into restaurants to replace disposable doggy (leftover) bags/containers given
out by the restaurant. This is similar to taking your own grocery bags to the grocery store. The
goal is to reduce the amount of disposable non-biodegradable materials, such as styrofoam, that
end up in the landfill. The second part of this concept is to get restaurants to participate in the
incentive program that offers the individual a little extra motivation in bringing in their own
container. Obviously this concept does not work for fast food or restaurant take out, and can be
applied only to dine in patrons. But if you have purchased your meal on site, the Leftover Love
incentive program would reward patrons who bring in their own container with a percentage off
their bill or a free dessert, etc. The ultimate goal is to create awareness around the effects of
disposable lifestyle options and at the same time reduce the amount of waste that is sent to the
landfills.
