 Pre cooling when needed

 Sun screen
 Client reminder about sun exposure

4. Adverse Reactions:

5. Use caution when treating around the eye area:
 Eye shields
 Glabella
 Orbital rim
 1064nm and depth

6. Metal and lasers:
 Metal goggles

 Braces

7. Skin Cooling:
 Patient comfort
 Reduce swelling and inflammation
 Reduce risk of burn

8. Technician vs. Doctor

10. Contraindications to Laser Treatment:
 Sun exposure (based on wavelength)
 Photosensitive Meds
 Suspicious Pigmented Lesions
 Systemic Conditions
 Pregnancy
 Other Laser Treatments

11. Contraindications Continued:
 Facial Treatments
 Metal in area to be treated
 Seizure disorders triggered by light
 Gold Therapy
 Any condition that would impede wound
healing or hypersensitivity to laser light
