2. Once upon a time there were 2 countries; One was Obama-
nation, the other Romney-nation (and no they were not at war
with each other).
Both countries owed $1 million to East-nation.
Obama-nation wanting to pay this money back decided to take
the money out of the rich people.
Romney-nation decided to change some of the laws in the
country to help people start and grow small businesses (all the
people in Obama-nation laughed at Romney-nation, and told
them they did not know their arithmetic).
3. In Obama-nation the tax police went to the rich guy's house and
took away $1 million dollars (the people said; "that's ok, the rich
guy has many more millions!")
Obama-nation then took the money and gave it to East-nation to
pay of their debt.
Obama-nation was now a little poorer because they now had $1
million less in the country.
4. Meanwhile, in Romney-nation laws were changed to help people
start and grow small businesses to big businesses!
One day, a very smart girl who had just graduated from College,
after a lot of work, created a gadget that would help lots of
people.
Since she was not very rich, she went to the rich guy in Romney-
nation and showed him what she had created, and asked him for
help to start a business to make lots of these gadgets and sell it to
people.
The rich guy was very happy, and gave the smart girl $1 million to
help her start her business.
5. The smart girl, started her business and hired 5 people in Romney-
nation to help her make and sell these radically good gadgets. The
smart girl paid each of her employees $50,000 a year, and her
employees were really happy.
The smart girl, and her employees worked really hard…but could not
make a profit in the first year. In the second year their hard work
started paying off. Lots of people in Romney-nation and elsewhere
started to buy these gadgets. People loved the gadget because it helped
them and made their lives easy.
The smart girl small business really took off, and started making
profits. In the 10th year, the smart girl small business had become so
popular it now had 10 employees making gadgets, and made $3 million
in profit that year!
6. The Romney-nation government was also very happy.
Each year, all the employees of the smart girl small business paid 10%
in taxes on their $50,000 income to the Romney-nation government.
What is more, the smart girl small business paid 20% in business taxes
on all the profits it made.
But this is not all!
After the 10th year, the rich guy, and the smart girl sold their gadget
company for $25 million. How cool is that?
The rich guy and the smart girl then paid a 10% tax on the $24 million
profit they had made.
In 10 years, the Romney-nation government was able to collect $5.7
million in taxes because of the smart girl small business!!! And of
course, Romney-nation was able to pay off their big debt to East-
nation.
7. Back in Obama-nation, there was also a very smart girl. She too worked
really hard to create a new gadget.
She too was not very rich, and needed help starting her business. The
smart girl knew that people would want to buy her gadget, because it
would help them. She had big dreams.
So the smart girl took her gadget to the rich guy in Obama-nation, and
asked him for help!
The rich guy in Obama-nation really liked the new gadget, and wanted
to help the smart girl, but the tax police had come and taken his money
away. The rich guy was really sad, but he told the smart girl that he
could not help her.
The smart girl in Obama-nation was really sad. She had dreamed of
building a small factory, and hiring people to help her build and sell
her really cool gadget. But there was nothing she could do. The tax
police had taken the rich guy's money away.
8. Obama-nation also had other problems. There were 20 people
who did not have jobs and who were poor, and Obama-nation
wanted to give them money to buy food and clothes.
But the Obama-nation government did not have money to help
them. So they had to borrow again from East-nation to help the
people without jobs and who were poor.
Romney-nation also had people without jobs and who were poor.
But they only had 10 people who needed help, because the smart
girl gadget company in Romney-nation had hired 10 people who
did not have jobs.
Romney-nation also did not have to borrow money, because they
still had $4.7 million dollars left.
9. The smart girl in Obama-nation saw how good it was in Romney-nation. She
went to the rich guy in Romney-nation to show him her cool gadget.
Once again, the rich guy really liked the gadget and helped the smart girl in
Obama-nation start her business by giving her $1 million.
The smart girl from Obama-nation knew that if she went back to Obama-
nation the tax police would come and take a lot of her money away. So she
decided to live in Romney-nation, and start her business there.
Now there are 2 smart girls living in Romney-nation.
Because the smart companies needed more smart people with college degrees
the schools in Romney-nation became very popular.
Romney-nation schools had more money to buy computers, do research, and
hire smart teachers. Because of this students in Romney-nation began to learn
lots of smart things, and became the best students in the world.
People in Obama-nation now did not laugh at Romney-nation, they wanted to
live in Romney-nation.
10. After a while, East-nation had a king who did not like Obama-nation and
Romney-nation. The East-nation king started to bully Obama-nation and
Romney-nation. One day the East-nation king decided to sink and destroy
ships that belonged to Obama-nation and Romney-nation.
Obama-nation did not like what East-nation had done. So they went to war
to defend their freedom. But, the Obama-nation government did not have a
lot of money to buy or make the guns they needed. They did not even have
enough money to pay their warriors.
East-nation had a very powerful army, and they were soon able to defeat
Obama-nation.
Romney-nation also went to war with East-nation. Because the Romney-
nation government still had money they were able to make good weapons,
and pay their warriors. Romney-nation was able to defeat the bad king of
East-nation, and defend its freedoms.
The people of Romney-nation were very happy to win the war and keep their
freedom. Their nation is a “shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides
freedom-loving people everywhere.”*
