The document summarizes the trailer for the romantic drama film "The Notebook". It takes place in 1940s South Carolina and tells the story of Noah and Allie, a young working-class man and wealthy woman who fall in love but face class differences that threaten to tear them apart. When Noah leaves to fight in World War II, Allie becomes involved with another man. Years later, when Noah returns, their romance is rekindled but Allie is now engaged to the other man. The trailer uses many short romantic scenes between the two leads at the beginning and end to convey the hopefulness of their love while also showing some longer key event scenes to outline the challenges they face.
1. For this ‘content analysis’ I
analysed ‘The Notebook’ trailer.
In 1940s South Carolina, mill
worker Noah Calhoun (Ryan
Gosling) and rich girl Allie
(Rachel McAdams) are
desperately in love. But her
parents don't approve. When
Noah goes off to serve in World
War II, it seems to mark the end
of their love affair. In the
interim, Allie becomes involved
with another man (James
Marsden). But when Noah
returns to their small town
years later, on the cusp of
Allie's marriage, it soon
becomes clear that their
romance is anything but over.

3. From my results, I found that
towards the end of the film I
discovered a lot of really short
romantic scenes of Goslings and
McAdams relationship to finish
of the trailer, with a glimpse of
hope. Towards the beginning of
the trailer, there was multiple
key events, I know this as these
scenes came up a lot
throughout the film.
These are ideas to take on
board, when I make my trailer.
It gives additional alteration on
the characters, and the love,
hate and romance between
them, giving a robust contrast
during the course of the trailer,
to help persuade the audience
to watch the film.
The average shot length is a
small, 1.5 seconds.
