Chosen Genre: psychological horror After deciding what genre we were going to base our teaser trailer’s on, we researched into what conventions a typical psychological horror film featured and what we would need to include in our own trailer: Sets – isolated, eerie, normal everyday places where weird/disturbing events would happen. These would be easy to access because a psy horror can be set almost anywhere. Characters – Mainly teens, both Gender’s but usually the vulnerable characters are female. Confident, popular teens/quiet and excluded, considered outcasts that have unusual gifts. Clothing/props – normal, everyday clothes/items which would be easy to replicate. Props in some cases would be used to protect characters. Lighting – psychological horrors are generally overcast and dull regarding lighting. A ‘tint’ is sometimes put over the entire film to subconsciously darken the atmosphere. Negative or ‘night vision’ is also a classic feature of horror/thriller films to show the audience that not all things can be seen in the daylight, creating a sense of uncertainty and suspense Sound/music – silence plays a big part in creating suspense and emphasizing situations. Otherwise dramatic or eerie music is used in horrors, sometimes juxtaposing situations. For example; Children's nursery music which connotes with innocence and peacefulness played whilst a murder scene in happening.

3. Although we realise this more of a gothic horror because of the setting/characters/props used it still is effective in enticing the audience with suspense and tension.

6. Set in a school, where a boy takes an opportunity to capture one of the most popular girls in school, who recently laughed in his face when he asked her to the end of year social. The majority of the filming would be done in a dark room, where we would have the chance to experiment with lighting and camera angles.
7. The girl is tied up to a table and her mouth covered with duck tape. The teaser trailer introduces the two main characters and shows short clips of her capture and struggles to create a hype for the audience and to convince them to see it.
8. We aim this movie for teens, as it is about teens and would be more terrifying for them because of how easily it could be for them to be in that situation.
9. This movie could be made easily, while still having a profound affect on the desired audience.

11. Low key lighting can create a tense and claustrophobic aptmosphere, and we can create this using small amounts of light from objects such as a lighter, torch or cellphone.
