3. OPENING PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we come before you today in humility and faith. We thank you for all you have
given us and the many blessings in our lives. We ask for your guidance and strength. Show us the
way and fill us with courage and wisdom. Help us to remember your love and grace and to be
faithful in our service to you. Give us the patience and understanding to face life's challenges with
grace. Please help us focus our hearts and minds as we are here to know more about you. Let your
Holy Spirit inspire us to listen attentively. Guide us by your everlasting light as we learn more about
your word. We make this prayer in the most holy name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
7. WHAT IS HOLY SPIRIT TO YOU?
• The Bible says the Holy Spirit is the power
source to our spiritual life.
• It is like the electricity to a light bulb.
Without electricity, the light bulb is
powerless and useless.
• In the same way, without the Holy Spirit
guiding our lives, a Christian will have no
power to live the kind of life God calls us to
live.
10. • Was there a solution to the problem of this
doctor?
• Was his ingenious way of starting the car was
a good option?
• Do we really believe that we have this spirit
within us and do we listen to the voice of this
spirit to take the right decision?
12. THE HOLY EUCHARIST
• The Holy Communion preserves, strengthens, and increases
all the various virtues, which are bestowed upon your soul
together with sanctifying grace (specific supernatural infusion
of God’s grace that makes a person holy and pleasing to God).
• The Holy Communion increases the divine virtues (faith,
hope, and charity), which enables you to enter into a closer
union with God.
• The Holy Communion also strengthens the cardinal virtues
(prudence/sound judgement, temperance/self-control,
Justice, and fortitude/emotional strength), which in fact
regulates better your whole attitude towards God, your
neighbors, and yourself.
• By rendering the seven gifts and the twelve fruits of the Holy
Spirit more abundant, Holy Communion opens your
understanding and will, to the inspirations and promptings of
the same Holy Spirit.
15. WHAT HAVE WE LEARNT TODAY?
• Holy Spirit is the power source to our spiritual life.
• We need to let the spirit speak to us. If we listen to what the Spirit tries to
tell us, through God’s word we are less likely to stumble over life’s
obstacles.
• The bible tells us that the Holy Spirit makes itself known to us in various
forms – Wind, Dove, Fire, Water Oil etc. the spirit of the Lord has always
been existing within us from the time we were baptised.
• We only need to invoke the power of this spirit to help us in our everyday
life.
• Confirmation completes Baptism, by which in the laying on of hands and
the anointing with Chrism Oil, which first happened at Baptism, we are
confirmed with the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
• We are reminded of our participation in the ministry and mission of Jesus
and strengthened to follow Jesus more closely.
• We receive the gifts of the holy spirit, and these gradually develop the
fruits of the spirit as believers abide in Christ and yield to the working of
the Holy Spirit.
17. CLOSING PRAYER
Lord Jesus Christ,
You became man, and you yourself know
everything we have to go through in our lives.
You know what it feels like to be human, and
you know what it feels like to be tempted.
Support us in our lives, and help us whenever
we are tempted to go in the wrong direction,
through the same Jesus Christ our lord. AMEN
