Because of its popularity, the durian has become known as the king of all fruits.<br />Is durian a healthy fruit? Well, this king of fruit is actually rich in nutrients. Durian contains high levels of amino acids which are the building blocks of protein. These nutrients are essential for nails and hair growth, and in promoting healthy liver and kidney functions. Furthermore, durian promotes calcium absorption and the growth and repair of muscle tissue. The amino acids in durian are important for the proper functioning of joints and tendons and also in wound-healing.<br />Durian also nourishes us with easily absorbable natural minerals – it has 10 times more phosphorous and iron than the most common varieties of the banana such as pisang mas, pisang embun, dan pisang berangan. Moreover, its calcium content is 40 times that of pisang mas and pisang berangan as well as eight times that of pisang embun.<br />Durian however, has higher calories than bananas.
