Simple and toric transposition is a surgical technique used to treat strabismus, or misaligned eyes. The extraocular muscles responsible for eye movement are detached from the surface of the eye and reattached in a different location, altering their pull on the eye. This allows the eyes to become properly aligned by changing which muscles control eye movement in specific directions.
