Prinsip cara ini adalah
pemecahan partikel
berukuran besar menjadi
berukuran kecil (sesuai
ukuran partikel koloid).
Cara dispersi dapat dilakukan
dengan proses kimia maupun
proses fisika.

Peptisasi adalah suatu cara
pembuatan koloid dengan
penambahan elektrolit ke dalam
suatu endapan. Elektrolit yang
digunakan disebut peptisator.

Contoh Peptisasi (Proses Kimia)
Endapan AgCl dapat diubah menjadi sol
dengan menambahkan HCl.
Endapan Fe(OH)3 dapat di ubah menjadi
sol dengan menambahkan FeCl3.
Endapan Cds dapat diubah menjadi sol
dengan menambahkan H2S.

b. Pemintal Koloid (Proses Fisika)
Terdiri atas 2 pelat baja yang
berdekatan , berputar dengan arh
berlawanan, dan berkecepatan
tinggi.
Caranya; Partikel padat dihamcurka
menjadi ukuran koloid, kemudian
terdispersi dalam cairan membentuk
sol, misalnya koloid grafit (sebagai
pelumas) dan tinta cat dibuat
dengan cara ini.

c. Cara Bredig (Proses Fisika)
Dengan menggunakan 2 kawat
logam Yang diberi tegangan tinggi
saling didekatkan dalam air dan yang
akan terjadi panas yang dapat
menguapkan logam yang selanjutnya
uang logam megalami kondensasi
membentuk partikel koloid.
Cara ini digunakan untuk membuat
sol dari logam Ag, Au, dan Pt.

2. CARA KONDENSASI.
Merupakan kebalikan dari cara
dispersi, yaitu penggabungan
molekul-molekul kecil menjadi
partikel yang besar.
Cara ini dilakukan dengan reaksi
kimia atau penggubahan pelarutnya
