Catholic Theme Days
Catholic Faith & Life lecture series.
Several sisters have made
presentations and held lectures. The
Catholic Theme-days series is a
collaboration project with the friars
of St. Dominic Monastery.
January: The Liturgy Commission held its meeting at
Sta. Katarinahjemmet. Sr. Ragnhild Marie is a member.
January: We have a new cook. She is between our two
volunteers in this picture.
January: A mini children section was added to our
library.
March: Release of the Norwegian version of Benedict XVI’s third book on Jesus.
Sr. Anne Bente translated the three Jesus’ books . The picture is taken during the
launching of the third book at the Literature House in Oslo
on March 18.
March: Common reflection and study day before Easter
May: Sr. Dana Benedicta’s First Profession of Vows
May: We celebrate the 25th Profession Jubilee of Sr. Anne Bente and
Sta. Katarinahjemmet’s 85th Jubilee year.
May: Release of the book "Freddy
Edderkopp og sakramentsmysteriet".
This book, which is number two in the
series on spider Freddy and his
friends, is written by sr. Ane-Elisabet
and illustrated by Roy Søbstad. It is
released by St. Olav Publishing.
May: Sr. Else-Britt is elected as the continental coordinator for Dominican Sisters Europe (DSE)
during the Dominican Sisters International (DSI) meeting. A council of young sisters from the
different European language zones were appointed at the same time. Their first meeting was
held at Sta. Katarinahjemmet in October.
May: "Evangelization" days with us.
July: Sr. Ane-Elisabet participated in a Catholic family camp.

Autumn: We focus more on volunteers and we started collaboration with Bonifatiuswerk.
We have four volunteers this autumn. These women help in the convent and in one of the
parish churches in Oslo while at the same time they also learn about the land, culture and
the Catholic Church in Norway. The picture is from a trip to Larvik.
July: Visit of sr. Lucia, coordinator of Dominican Volunteers International (DVI),
with the aim of a possible collaboration. DVI gives young people worldwide the
opportunity to experience another land, people and culture. Some years ago, we
received two young women volunteers from Colombia through DVI.
September: Sr. Else Marie receives a group from St. Teresia
parish in Hønefoss and explains to them about icons.
October: The Dominican Family in Oslo hosts the Mass for Vocation . The
Eucharist was celebrated at the parish of St. John , apostle and evangelist.
Coffee and cakes were served at the parish hall afterwards.
October: A visit from Kongsberg folkeuniversitet
October: Young sisters from Europe met in Toulouse for a course on Liturgy.
Sr. Dana was a participant while sr. Ragnhild Marie was one of the lecturers.
November: Gingerbread baking day in the Studenthome

November: Open House Day
December: Higgs wins the Nobel Prize in Physics with his particle theory.
Sr. Katarina is one among the 6000 winners. For us, she is the most important
and it is indeed a big celebration!
