The Addiction Research Foundation conducts and supports research to improve treatment outcomes for substance abuse disorders. They have an ongoing web-based addiction change survey that yields interesting results on how people change addictions. The first results from the survey produced many ideas and questions. There is a lack of evidence to support some common addiction treatment approaches. The foundation hopes that more outcome research from their survey will provide data to help suggest changes that could improve treatment outcomes.
