Use the verb Connaître to express :

1. To know someone
Example : I know your parents
=> je connais tes parents

2. To be familiar with / to know of
Example : I know France very well (I’ve been there a few times)
=> je connais bien la France
I know this song (I’ve heard it before)
=> je connais cette chanson
